I voted Modern. It's the same weekend as Vintage Champs, and with it being on the eastern seaboard it would be nice for Europeans to make the trip.
I appreciate the sentiment (and appreciate you explaining the reasons for the practical reasons for the clash in the other Vintage Champs thread), but I do feel this is just part of the problem in scheduling the two events against each other. I really have no idea how many European Vintage players will head to Philly (I know I would like to and am leaning that way), but even if it has created apathy or indifference to what happens at BOM (or increased say the EDH or Modern vote), then I think that is a very troubling development indeed. Every single BOM has up until now featured Vintage - if this one doesn't I'm worried about the precedent that will create.
Unfortunately the Vintage player base is so small it can ill-afforded to splintered.
Anyway - BOM doesn't announce what they've got planned for another week or two. I suppose there's always an off-chance they have moved dates. But that would certainly piss off all the guys who rushed home from Annecy and booked travel/hotels after the announcement made there. All in all, this is a really frustrating scenario, which turns two events which should be celebratory of Vintage into something of a snapshot of all the format's struggles.
Just my two cents Psyburat - nothing personal to either TO - rather frustration that it could ever come to this, two tournaments fighting over a total player pool of about 400 to 500 people.
