Comic Town in Columbus is hosting a guaranteed-prize Vintage tournament on Saturday, July 27. Trying the event on a Saturday is an experiment that will hopefully allow players from farther away to make arrangements for a longer weekend if necessary. Otherwise, Comic Town will be providing the great space, amenities, and prizes they always do. Plus, post tournament meals at great places like the Thurman Cafe! The details: WHAT: VINTAGE! TournamentSwiss + Top 8. Entry is $20 PRIZES:GUARANTEED $400 CASH! 1st Place: $160 2nd Place: $80 3rd Place: $40 4th Place: $40 5th-8th: $20 WHERE: Comic Town! They've been great about hosting and promoting Vintage in Ohio. Events are always a ton of fun. I'll start a signup if necessary. WHEN: Saturday, July 27, 2013 1:00 PM ESTThe store opens at 11:30 AM. Registration starts at 12:30 PM. Registration will close and the tournament begins at 1:00 PM, sharp. To save time, consider typing or writing up your decklist ahead of time. PROXIES: UNLIMITED PROXIES will be permitted.There are THREE ways of making proxies: 1) The first and most basic is taking a basic land card and writing the details of the card on it. 2) PREFERRED! The second method is to take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics. If you do this, every card must be proxied. |

I confirmed with Comic Town that we'll be doing Vintage Achievements at this event! I'll pick a random 15 achievements from this list: http://pastebin.com/Fn4yuGkp. Players earn a point per match for any achievements they earn. At the end of each round, the player who earned the most points and who hasn't already won, can select from the prize pool! Here's what we had last time:  Get 'em! |

To interrupt the gif party: anyone heading to this tournament from the east? In particular, on, around, or through the Pittsburgh area? I'm looking to carpool if possible.
Also, is the prize support locked in, or does it vary based on the number of players?

I'm mentally done for the day. Let's get the tournament going.  @Archae - I haven't heard of anyone coming from Pittsburgh. RitNecroWin and Seismic Assault used to in the past, but they haven't recently. If we can do anything to help make the trip easier for you and anyone riding with you, let us know. |
