Hello, as the title suggests, I am fairly new to Commander. I have a list together that I'd like all of you Commander players to look at. I'd like to know people's thoughts on it. I have hardly any of the cards as to why I'd like some input before even starting to get stuff.
Here is the list:

Mono Green EDH

Mana Reflection
Earthcraft
Ant Queen
Doubling Season
Parallel Lives
Squirrel Nest
Saproling Cluster
Fecundity
Ashnod's Altar
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
Clock of Omens
Myr Turbine
Genesis Chamber
Words of Wilding
Nim Deathmantle
Rings of Brighthearth
Everflowing Chalice
Voltaic Key
Lux Cannon
Planar Portal
Su-Chi
Blasting Station
Summoning Station
Grinding Station
Altar of Dementia
Phyrexian Altar
Sensei's Divining Top
Sol Ring
Mana Vault
Thran Dynamo
Basalt Monolith
Grim Monolith
Defense of the Heart
Essence Warden
Worldly Tutor
Melira, Sylvok Outcast
Woodfall Primus
Cloudstone Curio
Concordant Crossroads
Presence of Gond
Devoted Druid
Coat of Arms
Mitotic Slime
Deadwood Treefolk
Omnath, Locus of Mana
Extraplanar Lens
Gauntlet of Power
Caged Sun
Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger
(Commander)
Vernal Bloom
Seedborn Muse
Eternal Witness
Tooth and Nail
Green Sun's Zenith
Primal Command
Praetor's Counsel
Oracle of Mul Daya
Azusa, Lost but Seeking
Mind's Eye
38 Forest
Dryad Arbor
Misty Rainforest
Verdant Catacombs
Gaea's Cradle

As you can see I enjoy combo, and this has tons of that. The combo that drew me to want to play green was Earthcraft Squirrel Nest. After some research I have put many combos together and formed this.

Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy looking at my list.

It won't successfully compete with the "real" combo decks. That said, ask your playgroup, not us. You want a balanced play environment.

When I used to briefly play I was put up against a 21/21 Hydra Omnivore Mimeoplasm, infinite squirrels, and a blue deck that would deck everyone... I'd say it's competitive haha

I changed the Genesis Chamber to a Kuldotha Forgemaster to have a tutor for my Artifacts, since a majority of them are needed for combos.

Yeah, that's not competitive EDH.

How is that not competitive EDH? What would you consider competitive?

Combo Sharuum, Azami, Zur, 5C Hermit Druid (any general). Some people say Animar too. The first 4 are all decks that can easily put the game away on turn 3 or 4. Animar is more of a gradual thing.

When people play that strategy, the general is usually Kami of the Crescent Moon.  But, no, that's not competitive.

Just goldfish a tourney-winning Sharuum or Hermit Druid list a few times. You'll see the difference.

When people play that strategy, the general is usually Kami of the Crescent Moon.  But, no, that's not competitive.

I used to play a version of Kami that would crush everything in competitive play.  With the new legend rule some of the more controlling generals could be an issue as gaddock teag greaves is nearly unremovable without wiping your own board.

You have to gear the deck for either multiplayer, cards like propaganda, rhystic study, and mystic remora, or single player, counter magic.

Keeping your curve as low as possible is critical to this decks success.  You should be playing all the free counterspells you can, all the efficient artifact accelerators/mana doublers (NOT doubling cube), a lot time walks you can (but not the 8 mana ones),  and draw X spells mostly notably stroke of genius and blue sun.  These are the bread and butter of the deck.  You are missing an infinite mana combo of rings of brighthearh + basalt monolith.  Tezzeret the seeker is great if you add this as he can fetch either piece as well as a number of other cards.

Then I guess I don't play competitively but more casual competitive.

That's a moving target depending on your playgroup. Anyways, like I said, your goal is a power level on par with the rest of your playgroup. It's not fun if the same person always wins handily.

I'm not a competitive EDH player, but since we're on the topic of mono-green, I figured that I'd throw in a fun play that I like to set up in my Omnath, Locus of Mana EDH deck.

It's not really a "combo," but if you are able to generate a lot of mana, having Kamahl, Fist of Krosa in play alongside a Masticore can devastate an opponent with ease. Smile

I decided if I ever do get into Commander that I would use cards I already own instead of buying a whole 100 cards. That way I'm not spending tons of cash on something I might play once in a while.

Priest of Titania
Joraga Treespeaker
Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary

Wirewood Channeler
Heart Warden
Quirion Ranger
Elvish Guidance

Tutors / Draw:
Elvish Harbinger
Wirewood Herald
Fauna Shaman
Survival of the Fittest
Chord of Calling
Green Sun's Zenith
Enshrined Memories
Genesis Wave
Summoner's Pact
Worldly Tutor
Primal Command
Sensei's Divining Top

That was just stating since I play Elves already that an Elf Commander deck only makes sense.

Conversely not needing to move cards between decks is nice, too.

I've thrown up an example of a cut-throat competitive Maelstrom Wanderer build as a post here: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=45575.0
