Durham NC, December 6-8, Atomic Empire Eternal Weekend IV (Legacy and Vintage)

One month after the Eternal Championships the powerhouse of the south will be at it again.  Get ready to sling some cardboard in Durham once again folks!

Eternal Weekend #4: December 6th-8th

Friday, December 6th: Friday Night Legacy
Start time: 7pm
Entry: $5
Format: Legacy
Get into the swing of things by starting Eternal Weekend #4 with our traditional Friday Night Legacy! This is a Regular REL, Legacy constructed, Swiss event where players will play Swiss rounds based on the number of players. Prizes will be paid out in store credit to the top half of the players after the Swiss rounds. This store credit is good for anything in the store! Use it to finish off your decks for the rest of the weekend or even to pay for your entry into the other events during Eternal Weekend!

Saturday, December 7th: 15 proxy Vintage
Start time: Noon
Entry: $30
Format: 15 proxy Vintage
The Eternal Weekend headliner is back again, 15 proxy Vintage! This is an unsanctioned constructed tournament where players are allowed 15 proxies to take the place of those pesky, expensive Vintage staples. Even though this is unsanctioned our judge(s) will be handling this as Competitive REL. Players will play Swiss rounds based on attendance followed by a cut to the Top 4 or Top 8 depending on which is appropriate.
1st Place: A Library of Alexandria (or $200 in store credit)
Further prizes will be in store credit and will be based on attendance.

Sunday, December 8th: Competitive Legacy
Start time: Noon
Entry: $25
Format: Legacy
The closing event of our Eternal Weekend, competitive Legacy! This is a sanctioned Legacy constructed event, remember, NO PROXIES. This event will be run at Competitive REL and players will play through Swiss rounds based on attendance followed by the appropriate cut to Top 4 or Top 8.
1st Place: 4 Force of Will (or $250 in store credit)
Further prizes will be in store credit and will be based on attendance.

Events during Eternal Weekend will be streamed online at Twitch.tv/AtomicEmpire players in our events will be asked to sign a waiver before being allowed to play in streamed feature matches.

Once again we will have plenty of beer on tap as well as a massive in store stock of Magic cards!



I will be sure to update with pictures of the store itself (the place is HUGE) and some info of the surrounding area in the near future.

So I still haven't gotten pictures from inside the store yet, but we did recently have a 100+ person ptq in it comfortably so that should give you some idea of just how big it is.

Here is a link for directions to the store.  As you can see it is right off 15/501, very close to both 40 and 85.  There are a lot of excellent food options in the surrounding area with lots of resturaunts and fast food (if I remember correctly there is a bk and a mexican resturaunt within walking distance.

There are also no worries about parking as it is in a large strip mall area with a huge lot.

A note on prizes for vintage, the store has been getting a good supply of vintage cards lately including power, so store credit gives a wide variety of options.  In the link above for the in store stock also functions as a buy list in case you want to offload some things on the store while you are in town.
