Awesome!  Congrats, man!!!  Glad to see you are having continued success Smile

Thank you Smile The mindbreak traps have been really good in testing so far, only take them out vs Dredge. And it's nice to able to tutor for academy with Map, for hardcast Trap Very Happy

note* my opponent in round 1, was a little unlucky to missclick his oath trigger, when he could have decayed my cage, while on the stack.

You did have me close to dead anyway, I couldn't draw any cards and you still could have won. You're one of the best players I know 😊

Nice to see the list do well. Guess the Trap is against Storm. My thoughts were if Obeyline Md could be nice, since Shops enable fast Helm kills, and Leyline is nice vs Storm too.

I've tried an alternate approach with the list lately, and it seems to be doing okay, but not quite where it was with 4x chalice.  One of the bbest parts of this deck was the low curve and ability to play only jet as far as moxen goes (and lotus, sol, crypt, vault).  With chalice, you could always drop it at 0 and have game vs storm and slow down every other deck so you could win relatively quickly (and still be resilient). With chalice gone, though, I found storm was tough, but even blue control could have busted starts, and oath had access to mana for a T1 oath.

So, since chalice is restricted, I cut the 1-of altogether. It sucks as a 1-of if you are depending on it to stop moxen. The next best thing I could think of to stop moxen is null rod, so I'm trying a list with 4 rods. However, that means cutting maps, which was a strength of the deck.  Needless to say, the list is in flux, but here is my latest version:

3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Wasteland
4 Thespian's Stage
4 Dark Depths
4 Mishra's Workshop
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
1 Mishra's Factory
3 Vampire Hexmage
4 Lodestone Golem
3 Crucible of Worlds
1 Mox Jet
1 Black Lotus
1 Mana Crypt
1 Sol Ring
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
4 Thorn of Amethyst
1 Trinisphere
4 Tangle Wire
3 Smokestack
4 Null Rod
1 Chromatic Lantern
2 Ancient Tomb
1 Demonic Consultation
2 Wurmcoil Engine
SB: 2 Pithing Needle
SB: 2 Grafdigger's Cage
SB: 2 Illness in the Ranks
SB: 2 Witchbane Orb
SB: 4 Leyline of the Void
SB: 1 Razormane Masticore
SB: 2 Phyrexian Revoker

It adds a bit more threat for the mid-game and sacrifices a tad bit of assembling the combo, but with 4x rod, it often shuts down the opponent from puking spells into your face on turn 1. This forces a mid-game, which the deck does well at taking over.

I'm up for that challenge  Smile

Trap is amazing against TPS ofc, specially when they are going for their big bombs, because they need to accelerate to do it.

It's also quite effecient against other decks as well, because shop can play a pair of moxen before they throw out their golem etc. and the same go for blue decks, its nice to take mentor, oath/SaT or a planeswalker on the early turns. Or after misstepping an cantrip or something else, they misstep back, and you just exile all their spells Razz

I don't see many people playing around it, probably because it's a card that are not considered maindeck potentiel in many decks, and here we have the whole set waiting.
I find it soothing to have some action on the draw to respond with, so the opponent cant do a turn 1 kill on me.
