I picked up Blaine from JFK last year. I don't mind nabbing someone at LGA this year if it helps out.

Thank you, Tom.

As someone who travels from the Left coast (hella far) to these tournaments, those acts of kindness are GREATLY appreciated.  Many of these acts go silently unnoticed.  Nick D picked me up from JFK last year and I offered to compensate him for gas, mileage and time, and he adamantly refused.  Class act.

Yeah he is! Thanks for ensuring that they are acknowledged Stephen. It's certainly gratifying to get recognition.

I've had a few people mention concerns about security and I wanted to discuss that a bit more.

Last year we had two people doing security; one person at the door and a second person at the entrance to the play space.  We had numbered wristbands that matched wrists to bags and we had about a hundred people in the room who all seemed emotionally invested in the cards brought to the event all leaving with their proper owner.

I take site security very seriously.  I am the T/O and I know what you guys are bringing with you to play.  If you're hesitant, please speak to any of the people that went to the event last year.  I'd imagine the response to be uniform; the security at the event was more than adequate.

Ladies and Gentleman,

I'm afraid I have some BAD NEWS.  A certain Midwest Vintage master has been able to secure some of his prescriptions for much cheaper, and as such, could afford a flight.

With that said....

Main event is just Saturday. Friday is a tune up event with smaller prizing; while Sunday features a larger entry/payout scale.

The main event of the weekend is the N.Y.S.E. Open, which will begin and conclude on Saturday.  I've gotten some great indicators about turnout; I think we're going to see more than 100 guys.  Still, while that's a considerable number, we're going to be able to start and finish without running too late.

I would like to have everything cleaned up and have us out of the venue by 10 pm.  This may be optimistic, but I don't think so.

Unfortunately for you, I'll be there, so your chance of winning is slim to none.

FYI, my deck will be playing Gushes and Preordains.  Not certain yet if they're going to be suplimented by Lightning Bolt or Doomsday.  maybe both. Depends on how much of a man I am.

I will be driving up on Saturday and am in need of a couch or comfortable floor for Saturday night.

I don't want to impose but hopefully some kind soul can find room for me and my art.

Preferrably somewhere near the tourney venue or the Sunday event as I plan on attending both.

Thanks in advance!

If I win this event, I will sign the Karn, then sell it to a workshop player under the principle that they MUST play it.

An honorable mage would bestow it upon a workshop player so they may slice through the meta as if wielding Valyrian Steel.

Karn has devoured my moxen far too many times in my last 11 years of competitive vintage play for me to be honorable about it!

OK folks, I was able to purchase my airline ticket as suspected, and I get in at 9am sharp on Saturday morning in LaGuardia on Southwest. Would any of our fine gentlemen be able to pick me up? I can offer breakfast/lunch/gas/other non-sexual rewards as compensation for your help in this matter. Please PM me ASAP if so. Thank you and see you soon NYC!

Here are two of the several hand-drawn playmats that will be available at this year's N.Y.S.E. Open.

I will also be doing a limited edition print run of the N.Y.S.E. Open logo on a playmat.

Can't believe this is only a few weeks away. Can't wait to see everybody and play some Vintage! Very Happy

Now that I have everything compiled:

It is with joy and sadness that I announce that the NYSE II tournament will be my LAST Magic: The Gathering Tournament.  I have a lot of things going on, and have really evaluated the game and although I have played this game for 16 years of my life, it is time to hang it up.  I will be watching the Magic Online Vintage release to see if it is worth getting into, but as far as Paper Magic, I am done.

Truthfully, I haven't really enjoyed the game in at least 3 years, but I hold on because of the community, but that is all but dead everywhere in the Wisconsin/Illinois Area.

I will still be on the site, and will be on Cockatrice (and like I said, probably MODO).

So if you see me, come say goodbye (probably in the 0-2 bracket).

Sidenote: Though this isn't a place to sell things, feel free to inquire about a SWEET set of Japanese Altered Power I have.  Wink
