Important things to have learned from last year:

1) The Amish Bakery will not be open on Sunday.

My personal list is "Don't play Doomsday in a 200 person event JUST to prove you can....".

I had a massive numbers-induced headache by round 5.

Buy enough sugar pretzels from the cosplayers to last through the sunday event. I may actually just skip the magic and gorge myself in reading market for 3 days.

Here's hoping the event goes as flawlessly as last year, I know the organizers were diligent in gathering feedback. It would be sweet if the guest artist list had Christopher Rush for our Loti (who is going events and signing again) this year since we all got Dan Frazier for our moxen last year.

If we're lucky, maybe Mark Poole will be able to make it this year.  It would be great to have him.

This time, I am going to both get a feature match and actually win it.

Also, I am going to try my damnedest to bring some cash to get some FBB duals.

I just hope that the viewing room is a little nicer this year, the projector was fine, but the speakers were about a total of a watt and even the couple of us sitting next to them couldn't hear a thing.

Obviously we need the Power 9 (5) artists for the Dream Team:

Amy Weber - Time Walk
Chris Rush - Lotus
Dan Frazier - Moxen
Mark Poole - Recall
Mark Tedin - Timetwister (Time Vault)

That would be an amazing line up.

Well that would just be insane. Chris Rush appears to be back on the signing circuit (GP Sacramento, Phoenix). Mark Poole (is actually awesome) and I see him at Gencon every year so he isn't that exotic but he might be the most engaging nicest MTG artist you'll ever meet. I thought Amy Weber abhored all things MTG and was doing coloring books now. She'd be a fantastic guest if Nick could lure her out there! Walk, Mask, Ornithopter are all sweet.

The ranks of Team Ramrod grow stronger in number with each passing winter day.  By the time October rolls around, we will likely make up a solid 3% of the field.

Poole is at Gencon all the time and very good about signatures and mods.  Frazier was in Philly this past year--he signed all my moxen in the associated colors, which I just  love.

Anyway, gonna try to book this although it's two weeks before my wedding Smile  Last year was one of the best vintage tournaments in the last decade.

Amy has found a few of her old Magic pieces and this might be a good time to reach out to her about it as it would be fresh in her mind.

She paid for a new truck with the money from the holo dragon whelp so I think she has recently seen one of the benefits of working with Magic players.

If it could happen, it would be awesome.

Sounds awesome.  Any idea what happens on Day 1?  If the "Weekend" is Oct 24-26 and the Legacy and Vintage tourneys are on the 25th and 26th respectively, is it worth being present on the 24th?  What goes on?

Usually there is Bye tournaments and a super FNM. It can be worth it, but it's up to you.

question on hotels arrangements - there was a block of rooms set aside at a discount last year - anyone have any information on that for this year?

There will be a block of hotel rooms available this year, but it hasn't been announced yet.  Once the final details are set, Nick will announce it (or have a TDG employee announce it).

Can't wait for this. It would be sweet if Tedin came as I missed him at GP Boston two years ago. The number of Vintage playables he's done is off the charts.

This should be a sanctioned event, which would mean no proxies.

Christopher Rush indicated on his Facebutt that he's coming.

"Happy to announce I will be appearing at Philadelphia Eternal Weekend October 24th to 26th. Vintage. More details coming soon. Very excited."

Amy Weber or Melissa (used to be) Benson (now Jacuzzi) again would be an awesome lineup. Actually Pennsylvania has some fantastic MTG artist like Greg Hildebrandt and Mark Zug but I think they are both loathe to sign cards. Zug especially is like pulling teeth when he's out at a convention somewhere.

But there were prizes last year for top 8 unpowered lists. Last year the payout was:
$400
$200
$100
$100
$50
$50
$50
$50

So it's definitely worth going even if you don't have power.
