Here's an idea. I could get behind remaking just about any movie which was conceived from a work by Michael Crichton.

I have ADD which unerringly manifests whenever I am tasked with the burden of sitting and reading a book. The few non-Calvin and Hobbes books that I was able to ingest in a meaningful way as a child were a couple of Crichton books; Andromeda Strain, Sphere, Jurassic Park… really IMO the only 'good enough' movie in that series in regard to its content and honest interpretation of the original source material was the Andromeda Strain, and while it's been a long time since I've read/seen either one, I know that the last time I saw Strain, I couldn't help but count the goofs. And it's not a bad movie; however, it's just a couple of name-changes away from being unrecognizable as the original concept. (as I recall. again.. it's been a long time)

I know it isn't necessarily feasible to get a 1:1 ratio on things like this, but these movies stand out to me as taking some pretty long walks around the details. Maybe I don't want to see movies so much as mini-series, I dunno; you can't really turn a 300-page book into two hours forgiving large print.

A Sphere remake is something I could very much get behind! I liked that movie quite a bit.

I'm going to go ahead and say Demolition Man.

Frank Castle is a man of few words. He's direct and to the point. He's an unshakable, joyless, rock of a man.
That's Stevenson's Punisher in a nutshell.

So I suppose I should take The Fringe back out of my sig now...

You know what movie needs to be remade?

To Kill A Mockingbird.

The 60s movie was so flat, the source material so great.

Speaking of old movies:

Many Alfred Hitchcock ones (like The Birds)
And then there were none

"And Then There Were None" would be really great. It's had enough spin-offs.

I like to see Chris Cunningham take a stab at A.I. He was originally going to be involved when Kubrick was set to direct it but when Spielberg took over he got pushed out and he still hasn't done a movie. A.I. had a lot of potential but Spielberg just didn't handle it well. If you're unfamiliar with Cunningham he did a bunch of music videos in the 90's and early 2000's as well as the Rubber Johnny short film. Amazing visuals but also really creepy and unsettling.

Dude really needs to make a full length movie.
Someone else mentioned Metropolis and I think he could do that film justice as well.
