How many qualifier tournaments are left?  When are they firing?

One in 5 minutes, then 2 tomorrow, tuesday, and thursday, I believe.

Edit: and Friday
Edit 2: the when depends on your time zone. In EST, they are 2:30 and 9:30 tomorrow and 1:30 and 8:30 T and Th, I think.

"Why are we making bad decks? I mean, honestly, what is our reason for doing this?"

"Is this a Vintage deck or a Cube deck?" "Is it sad that you have to ask?"

"Is that a draft deck?" "Why do people keep asking that?"

Entered my first ever vintage daily today. We got 45. I qualified for the holiday thingy. I'm pretty freaking psyched.

I 4-0'd last Fridays event to qualify.  Does anyone know how the invitations work?

Will they send me anything special to let me know I have successfully qualified or do I just need to be there on the day and hope everything works out?

You will be able to join the queue for the event if and only if you have qualified.  If you are paranoid, you'll be able to test for yourself when the event shows up in the scheduled events section (likely wednesday afternoon).

I qualified in my first Vintage DE ever last Friday as well. I am glad WoTC created this. It seems to be driving interest in both the DEs and in the tournament practice room.

Is anyone planning on streaming their games in this tournament?

All the latest ones had around 40+ players. I hope it stays this way even without a bigger tournament to qualify for. But so far: good showing, Vintage is definitely more thriving than we all thought.

I'd consider it. I'll have to see if I can get something setup by then.

I'll be jamming games and testing how much of a delay my computer is capable of streaming with. Hopefully, I'll be streaming with a few minute delay. Otherwise, my matches will definitely be on youtube

I too hope they can keep it popular. The level of play in the qualifier was refreshing compared to the free rooms. I liked the deliberate and careful play, and matches were tense.

Does anyone have any idea how many players or rounds this will be? I'm trying to schedule my Saturday evening and it's looking like this could easily be 6 rounds plus top 8 (not that I'm complaining about getting to play vintage!)

This is going to be awesome.  I feel sorry for folks who can't participate.  It's going to be a murderers row.  This is why we play MTGO

This tournament has been insane.  I'm doing horribly, narrowly lost all three mirrors, so sitting 2-3, I believe, but 9 of the 10 VSL players are in this tournament.

I ended up 4-4.

I literally played FIVE Delver mirrors, and went 1-4 in them - just super random situations - but each of them were super close.

Yeah, Treasure Cruise isn't broken :/

I think 3 VSL players have clinched top 8.  I would be surprised if Treasure Cruise doesn't win this event.

Not that there aren't plenty of other things to fix about modo, but having the option for WOTC to broadcast the top8 of premier events would be awesome. Something about occasionally alt tabbing into the event window after I've scrubbed out isn't quite the same.

I squeaked into the T8 but it looks as though I am about to lose the QF.

5-3, took Oath instead of my usual petdeck. Played against Delver 5 times.... and lost 3 times. Their draws and opening hands are just too consistent compared to any other deck in the format. Honestly, I considered to just jump on the Delver bandwagon as well, but I knew I would just play mirrors all day long and that sounded more random than appealing to me.

exactly what i said in my podcast, but I also added that I thought the Vintage community wouldn't quite be on board in local events, but that the larger events would prove otherwise.

Crazy that LSV, Efro and Randy are in the top 4 after a 134 player tournament.

Any idea if there will be any official replays of the tournament, or if any big name players plan on releasing anything from their perspectives?

I'm glad you had fun! I'll pass it along to the MTGO folks.

I'm hoping that this will create enough critical mass that we'll fire more DEs. I believe that Vintage can succeed on MTGO.
