cvarosky80, your sources are clueless, and so are you!

Chris is trying to make a point that success can lead to people being accused of cheating and cheaters can definitely have success playing Magic. It sucks but that is unfortunately a part of every format and an inherent part of almost all card games. I would like to use this as a chance to discuss ways in which we as Vintage players can protect the integrity of our tournaments while still preserving the close and friendly nature of our community, but having my name mentioned really does complicate this and I don't know how to initiate such a discussion now.

"Why are we making bad decks? I mean, honestly, what is our reason for doing this?"

"Is this a Vintage deck or a Cube deck?" "Is it sad that you have to ask?"

"Is that a draft deck?" "Why do people keep asking that?"

Random conversations...

@Chris.  Other than from people who dislike them, I've never heard of any "cheating" accusations about Josh Potucek, Justin Kohler, Matt Murray, Brian Kelly, Tom Dixon, Shawn Griffiths... Accusations like this are going to come up for anyone that isn't universally well liked and does well consistently.  You have to recognize the bias of the source of information.

This is pretty much drastically different from Mastriano.  First of all no one actually seems to dislike him as a person, and I've heard from multiple circles of players, not just an individual here and there, of his shadiness.  I still remember after losing to him in the finals of NYSE 1 the 10+ other people I went out to dinner with after flipping out on me for not shuffling his deck before each game, both games of which he had turn 1 tinker + counter back...

As for evidence... it's pretty damning evidence that he has been suspended by the DCI.  They are typically extremely conservative in regards to this.  As for a couple of things I've seen and can remember.  There was the marked lotus at the 2013 worlds.  Then another incident a few months ago of him drawing extra cards when his opponent wasn't looking.

Oh I see.  Sorry about that cvarosky80.  I just don't think you should say "I've heard that the following people cheat:" and then start listing off names.  I want to see the list names of the people who said so and so cheats because that'd be a way more relevant list when it comes to removing toxicity from the vintage community.
