I just moved to NH.  I am interested in getting a weekly game going in the area.  There are plenty of shops that this can easily be done at.  Please reply here if you are in the area and want to play some vintage.  Shooting for somewhere between Meredith and Concord, but I'd be happy to hear other suggestions.

Also, I fully understand this may not be in the right place.  Let me know where to post it!

Bumping for visibility.  Pretty much open to any location in NH.  I'm at the monthly myriad events as well.  So that is likely my best bet?  I'll see you guys on saturday.

Open to having it in Manchester?  Tons of stores in the area and easily accessible off the highway.

Maybe a vintage FNM once a month, too?

If you can get vintage going in Manchester I would be ecstatic.

Do you know any other people in the manch area that would be interested?  I could talk to some store owners this weekend and try to set something up. It'd help to have a number in mind to see if they would be interested.

I'm in Tilton.  I'm currently on the gameplan of driving to FNM's in Boston.  I think I can swing Manchester.  I wont be making the FNM this week as weather is total garbage.  As far as FNM's that may be extremely tough to start out.  It really depends on who we can get out of the woodworks in the area.  Manchester also seems like kind of the Hub of competitive magic in general in NH.  So I like that plan a lot.

I'm extremely ecstatic to see this getting some steam.  Do you guys have friends in the area who want to play as well?  Like I said full proxy to start, so anyone can play.  I'll be talking about this at myriad on saturday as well as from every mountaintop I cross.  So lets get this ball rolling.

It seems like Myriad in Manchester will be our best bet as they are already willing to do the game in Salem once a month.  I'm am extremely open to other options though.  Extremely open.

Thinking about pitching Sunday March 15 as a date to host a vintage tournament in Manchester. Doesn't conflict with Myriad's monthly vintage (week before) or the prerelease (week after). Hopefully the idea will take. How does availability look for people that day?

That's also the weekend of the eternal extravaganza

It would appear so. So perhaps a back-to-back weekend with Myriad and shoot for Sunday March 8?

While I appreciate the positive response, I think we need to slow down for a second.  There isn't much use is talking to a store about an event with a total of 3 people in the thread having interest.  We can set a soft meet up for playing some vintage at basically any store we see fit, to drum up some interest.  I can't imagine any store in the area having an issue with running another event.  We basically need to pick the one who has an inventory containing vintage playable cards, IE duals and potentially power, competitively priced.  Or at the very least a store that has the capital and willingness to invest in such inventory to make playing there worthwhile.  Also, I'm most concerned making sure we are getting the best deal possible, meaning that we are getting 100% return on store credit for prizes.

That said, I'm heading to Myriad Saturday morning from Tilton, so anyone who is remotely interested in this should attend, and we can begin to discuss in person the potential for another local event.  I'm also looking at  Sunday the 15th of Feb as a potential just for us to get together and play some vintage.

The weather makes travel a bit of a pain for me, so chances of me being able to attend anything during the winter is ~50%, since I'd be driving from Dover (and this month is a busy one for me anyway). But if you can get a group together, even if its just a semi-regular playgroup, I'm sure you could drum up some interest. I'd love to have some people I could test with. A few of the people who play Modern at Double Midnight Comics in Manchester are one-time vintage players, so if they were able to get back into it without having to spend much on cards or gas they might be convinced.

At any rate vintage players seem happy to drive 4 hours just to play 4 rounds so it should be possible to find some people willing to join you.

I am very interested in Manchester and suspect I can get two friends involved at least some of the time. Being newish, I just want to get in games and whether tourney or not doesn't matter to me.

Last month was my first event at Myriad and I've been planning to make it as much as possible. Pandemonium is too far/inconvenient for FNM even if I had power. I'd welcome even a casual playgroup closer to Nashua

Double Midnight is my target market.  They have decent prices on cards, and seem to be the hub of competitive magic in the area.  Forgive me if I typed that already in this thread.  But its true!  I will post anything I gather at Myriad on Saturday here, and I'll swing into Double Midnight in Manchester on my way back up.

Need to consider their hours too - most nights DM doesn't seem to be open very late.

Well in terms of a weekly event I think we would shoot for a weekend day.  Most people in this area are on more regular hours.  This way we could have a higher chance for a turnout beyond locally.

As it turns out I WILL be at fnm in boston tomorrow.

So we have a meetup scheduled for this Sunday 2/15/15 at Double Midnight at in Manchester.  No real restrictions in terms of time, I will be there at noon.  So come play some vintage, its just casual so full proxy as will the events we are currently looking to schedule.  Please come with an idea of your available days of the week.  Based on what I heard from several players at Boston FNM as well as Myriad the next morning, that weekdays would be best for these more casual events.  We will in the future, assuming all goes as planned be looking into scheduling larger events for at least 1k in prizes, as well as potentially sanctioning some FNMs.

Store info : 245 MAPLE STREET MANCHESTER, NH 03103 603-669-XMEN (9636)

Questions and stuff?  Just ask.

I'm off 93 exit 4 in NH.  I could make Sunday at DM for around noon to play some  vintage-y cards.

I'll keep an eye on this thread as we get nearer to this Sunday

I'm going to try to make this as well.  I would just caution everyone to be careful as were supposed to get another storm this weekend. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

The majority of the snowfall is looking to be on sunday.  I will be there for sure.

The forecast just keeps looking worse.  We may want to try again the following Sunday.  Thoughts?
