Legendary Games in Lafayette, IN is hosting another Vintage event on August 15th.

Registration opens at 11am

After having a good turnout with a sanctioned event why would they have a proxy one??  If this were sanctioned I would be there no question but not terribly interested otherwise.  Am I wrong in thinking this way?

Because there were local legacy players that wanted to jam vintage too.  14 is an ok turn out, but they were expecting more.  Bigger the crowd, bigger they payout.  I like sanctioned vintage as much as the next junky, but being a week after eternal weekend, might be a touch harder for everyone to make it out.  am i right?

That makes sense.  I guess I'm bummed there are not more sanctioned tournaments locally, but like you said, it gets more people interested in the format and expands the prize pool.

This is Jason from Legendary Games. We will be running many more Vintage events in the future. Most will NOT allow proxies, but we wanted to give proxies a try for our Aug 15th event. We will try to keep you posted, and we will try to run at least one major sanctioned Vintage event per month starting in the Fall. Thanks for everyone's interest in the best MTG format!

Join us on Saturday, September 12th, at 1pm for our TCG Copper Event. The format for this event is VINTAGE.
NO PROXIES WILL BE ALLOWED
