The time when dredge has to fear hate pieces is over!  In this article I report on my recent success merging the two most prominent sideboard transformations of dredge, divining witch and dark depths.  Piloting this beautiful monstrosity to 1st place at Top Deck Games going 8-0 in post board games during the process.  A feat proving the power of the transformational board.

Hope you all enjoy!  Very Happy

Congrats and thank you for writing the report!  I'm happy to see Cavern of Souls in any winning list.   Smile

Pretty cool list. I've seen the depths stage thing in Dredge at depot, but the witch combo is right out of left field. I think the only thing in Shops that can stop that once you start is Dismember.

Congrats on the win and thanks for the write up!  What do you side out to bring in your transformational plan?

I've been top 8ing TDGs, Bloomsburg, and Calvin's events for the past few years on the Divining witch combo, but yeah it hasn't gained as much popularity as the dark depths combo has.  And yes I agree it's very hard for shops to stop after its resolved.  The others outside of Dismember are Triskelion and forgemaster into duplicant.

I don't have a generic plan that I follow.  What I board out depends on the match up, how much hate I think they have, and what read I get from my opponent (for instance if I think they will aggressively mull to hate or whether or not they know about my transform).

The full transform is -4 Grave Troll, -4 Powder, -3 dread return, -1 sun titan, -1 griselbrand, -2 bridge.  However leaving some of these pieces in over other things can keep the dredge plan much stronger, which was beneficial in the last game of the finals.

Nice report and congrats on the finish! One minor nitpick is that Marit Lage can't be targeted by duplicant, so the only card that can punish you in the situation you described vs shops is metamorph.

Brilliant deck. Looks fun and difficult to disrupt.

Also: You should call it "Labman 3D" (Dark Depths Dredge)

Oh yes thank you for pointing this out.  Its so rare that duplicant would target a token that I never actually noticed that it can't.

It’d be awesome to completely ignore all those very specific hate cards people bring against you but how are you going to do that?" - Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa
