Will there be any consideration for budget decks? If so, what card exclusions will be considered as budget in decks for this event?

The last one was 10-15 proxies so there wasn't a budget option. Really looking forward to this!

Is it a typo or are 12 Mana Drains really being given out for the 5th to 16th place prizes?

Awesome, very excited for this!
@Calvin240sx: will there be Legacy or something else on Saturday 10/24, or is the Sunday 10/25 Vintage going to be the only event?

Im pretty sure that Saturday is a legacy tournament where the prize pool is 200 revised dual lands (5 complete sets, not some 100x plateau nonsense), with a full set of 40 going to the winner.

Do you happen to have a start time & event fee put together?
If I can get a few more details I can most likely make the trip
Just wondering Proxies or no?
Just wondering DCI sanctioned?
Thanks for your time

I imagine things will similar to EE2, which was 15 proxies (and therefore unsanctioned) with a start time at 11 a.m. http://eemagic.com/sides.html

What Chubby Rain said. the proxies will follow BMG proxy rules which are as follows. I'll be onsite as well to check any that need to be looked at for legality All proxies must follow these guidelines: Please do not use the back of a magic card for a proxie! There are two types of acceptable proxies. The first and most basic is taking a basic land card and writing the details of the card on it. The second method is to take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics. All proxies must have the following text neatly printed, using a extra fine point sharpie. Ball point pens may not be used: • The full name of the card (no abbreviations or nicknames) • Correct casting cost of the card including all colored mana symbols • All relevant/game effecting text When choosing what card to use as the base for an erased proxy players must follow these rules: • The mana cost of the base spell must be the same as the card being proxied. • The type of the card being proxied must be the same as the base card. • The P/T of a creature being proxied must be the same as the base creature P/T • When proxying a creature it may be difficult to find a creature where all characteristics match. In this case, mana cost is the most important, followed by the P/T, followed by the subtype. Any characteristics that do not match must be erased and corrected. • The art box, card name, and text box must be totally erased. White out may not be used for this as it affects the stiffness of the card and may mark it. • When adding text to the card do not use a ball point pen. A extra fine point sharpie is the best thing to use. A ball point pen can cause indentations on the card marking it. • For clarity reasons, the use of cards with the new card frame is strongly encouraged cheers, cal

Where are you coming from and do you plan to visit any of the surrounding major cities is the question. Lehigh Valley airport is an option as it's only about a 15min drive to the site. Philly and Newark are the closest major airports though. or Harrisburg too actually. cheers, cal

If not that, then pictures! Those always generate hype since Vintage lends its self to some awesome board states.

Traffic/getting in from them will be a real hassle and there really isn't much better about those 2 over Harrisburg or Lehigh. It may not look like it on it a map but driving time Harrisburg is really no further than Philly or Newark and as the Calvin Said - Lehigh is right there and its an easy area to get around in. I have to get serious about my play testing and make it up there. Its only about a 35 min drive for me.

All blue top 8 with 4 Gush Mentor decks, 1 Landstill, 1 Painter/Gush, Grixis Control, and David Kaplan on Delver. Representing Shops, Nick DiJohn came in 9th, Micky Mahr and Tom Dixon finished in the top 16 or close to it with 5-2 records. Tom was on a 5c variant. Overall though, there weren't that many Shop decks present. Storm and Belcher both showed up but didn't perform well. I assume the Painter list ran Thirst but I'm not sure that the Grixis list ran it. There were a lot of thirst decks in general but they didn't do great. Oath decks were generally of the Brian Kelly variant and there were a few at the top tables throughout the day.

Just something of note. At both this event and EE2 last year players were allowed to use paper print outs stuffed into sleeves as their proxies and were ruled allowed by the head judge both times. It is what it is, but not something that I prefer to see.
