Another interview of mine has gone up on Eternal Central! This time Danny Batterman and I spent the good part of 3 hrs talking about his tournament, deck and history with Magic! Cropped down to 2.5 hrs we have another long but good interview with an all around awesome guy.

http://www.eternalcentral.com/eternal-insight-podcast-episode-2-reflections-from-eternal-weekend-with-danny-batterman/

Once again thanks for listening! Also if anyone else wants to do an interview about eternal weekend or just one in general feel free to contact me! I'm always game to talk at great lengths about Vintage!

I missed this podcast and the other with Brian when they came out but definitely glad I downloaded them. Thanks for these. Will there be any more of these? If so, is it only people from champs?

It could be great to have a "between the trees" styled podcast with various vintage players. cut up skype interviews could also work.

It was a good episode with some truly golden moments. The discussion re the belcher style combo vs the window style TPS lists may have been only a couple of sentences long but it hints at the subtle nuances between the various decks that CAN kill in the early game. Sometimes I feel they often get lumped together in a distant (bygone era) fashion even though the way they play out can be very different.

The episode did get a little Soap-boxy at times but when it is a one on one interview you can get away with that because it comes across less as fact but more as opinion.

I would like to see a few more invasive questions leveraged at the interviewed person. When they say something like I want to see X happen, ask why. When they tell the audience that Z is the case, ask why.

I also love hearing about the past of other players, especially when told in decks played, much as batterman did.

Also, I love playing against workshops. Not just with decks with good matchups vs the artifact deck but also with other shops lists, creatures, and even rituals. I love how much mana counts, how it plays out on the board etc. Naturally there are Versions I prefer to play with/against but there is at least 1 of me.

I will try and edit this later but this post is done with my phone so there may be errors.

Thank you very much for the feedback!  I will be doing more and I have one that I finished a few days ago that I need to edit but it isn't completely champs related.  Where I wanted to go with the series past champs was to just interview facets of the community and people of interest along with event winners.  My format of introducing the player's personal Magic history before going into things is something that has gone over well so I will continue to do it!  I think it helps frame the player better and prevents it from alienating new players who aren't familiar with certain players and does create good content.  As for challenging players to explain their points better I can look into doing that I just don't want to create a debate when the idea behind the interview is for the player to talk about theirselves and their points of view.  If it was a podcast where it was one issue the two of us touch on I would definitely do that as it would be par for something that has dual opinions on it.

A podcast is in the works but it wouldn't be through Eternal Central.  They will be getting the interviews to make the Vintage-Only players past Smennen and Rich Shay be more well known and to help create more interest in the format which I hope my next posting will! Work has just been bogging me down and along with doing the TMD Vintage League and all the work that goes into that I need more time to devote to the level of editing I do on every interview (it is a lot since I go second by second and make it as clean as possible)  So look forward to it and I thank you for listening! It means a lot.
