Here's my latest piece for MTGGoldfish. http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/vintage-101-going-rogue

The online metagame has become heavily saturated with Dark Petition TPS and Bant or Sylvan Mentor. Both are great decks, but for the sake of variety I've included some things that are not seen so often.

I featured Josua Potucek's Oath/Landstill deck. I have been doing very well with that deck, I recommend checking it out if you're into that sort of deck.

Enjoy.

I love the Mono-White build. I think going heavier on premium acceleration and disruption (a la Shops?) is a really promising direction to take Hatebears.

"I fully believe that if Dredge could play a transformational sideboard it would just win all the tournaments yet it just doesn’t have one because there is just nothing that it can play. It’d be awesome to completely ignore all those very specific hate cards people bring against you but how are you going to do that?" - Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa

Thanks for checking it out. The Hatebears list was designed and played by a guy in our FB group. I teased him a little bit about the Flagstones not being a Karakas though  Wink

All of a sudden I'm running into the OathStill list online, and frankly it is very annoying! Mirror matches are not my favorite, but Oath mirrors are particularly awful in my opinion. At least that means people are checking out the list, so I'm happy about that.

Some mono white lists performed really well in our meta few years ago. They featured few acceleration, since otherwise they were clunky and got auto-locked often. Besides those lists have a bad time against delvers and pyromancers, since they need few mana to work, put a faster clock, have board pressence, cheap removal... Maybe they are better against mentors (and surely they are against storm!) and it's time to sleeve it again Smile

Thanks for checking this out, I'm glad you enjoyed it. My FB buddy and group member Kelvin aka bluediamonds has been playing around with hatebears. TurboK has too and they've both had some success with the deck.

This week is Christmas and as a gift to myself I'm allowing myself more sleep. This means that there is no Vintage - specific article coming. I did finish and submit my article on the early history of combo decks and if people are interested I can post a link here.

I won't be playing in the power nine challenge because my wife is working and I have nobody to watch my son. I hope everyone who does play has a great time. Perhaps I'll write about the top sixteen decks the following week. That's all the info I have access to, my boss made that clear.

Happy holidays to everyone at TMD!!! The Vintage community is the best community I've ever been associated with! Very Happy
