Please post all questions you have in this thread and do not open new threads for every question you may have.

And prepare to heat from us that we do not know it either currently, we just opened up the board to you as soon as we could and many things are not decided yet.

Any other thread concerning the relaunch of TMD will get closed.

In terms of post quality, what should go in the Newbie Forum, and what should go in the Open T1 Forum? Is there an established distinction between the two, or is that something being decided?

Since the old 1.x/t2/etc forums are archived, can we assume that over the course of time there will be forums established for them again? Or will it be pooled into the newbie forum?

TMD is going to be a T1-only site. There're no forums for the other formats, because we're not here to discuss them.

I've been having trouble getting my avatar to display. I made it fit within the pixel and size limit (it's now 60x51 pixels and 2 KB), and my Profile told me it had been updated (which failed when the image was too large). I'm also confident that it's not a hotlinking problem, because I can display it here like this:

How have the Avatar'd succeeded in doing so?

Thanks.

Edit: Problem solved. Go-go Leviat superpowers.

Could you send me a detailed PM explaining which actions you went through to set this? There WAS an avatar bug but I fixed that yesterday - 1/18. And I just tried setting up your profile myself and it worked fine for me (as you can now see). So if there is STILL problem with Avatars, I'm going to need some more info to debug the problem.

Why is the non-Magic section restricted? I wouldn't think that post quality there is as much of a concern as it would be in the T1 sections.

Dear Moderators,

I Signed up on TMD shortly before it went down, the first time Sad . I re-signed on in the crappy temp forums and posted a few decks on both the casual and n00bie forums. Wondering about how to transfer my threads. I haven't the slightest idea how to do this. since to the best of my knowledge, the archives are shut and no replies are allowed, im wondering how to set them back up in their appropriate forums without having to start from scratch. you can PM me if the explanation is unfit for this sticky Wink

thanks, peace Cool

They are totally separate. It's best to just start a new discussion here, possibly snipping important quotes from the old thread. You should still be able to read everything there, if not give me a PM.

Will you consider reopening the Extended Forums?  I think there was quite a lot of productive discussions in there, and it is the closest some people can get to playing type 1 if they don't own power and can't play in proxied tournaments.

There were a few deck ideas from Extended that I have seen played in type 1 tournaments with decent success.

I think I can answer that question for you.

I'm guessing no.

Many of not all of the mods (myself included) and vintage adepts rejoiced when hearing about Zherbus' decision. It's the right thing to do. Think about it: TMD has a certain reputation. It's considered by many (including Wizards of the Coast) to be the best Type one resource around.

Now take a look at the old extended and type two forums. They excelled in, well, nothing. The tech posted there was either lame or old. Since extended is a supported format, many pros work on decks for weeks on end. In most cases, they will not share their tech at all and we will have to find out about it when it's too late (i.e. Sideboard coverage). Even if they are looking for a fruitful discussion, they'll turn to sites that have a certain reputation in their format (probably Brainburst or something, I dunno). Look at it like this: when I started to get serious about T1, I didn't turn to starcity forums. I went straight to the source. Since it's impossible to compete with SSG and Brainburst extended-content wise, we're better off not trying at all and focussing on our core business: Type One.

The forums will look much better now that we have structured, intelligent discussion on Type One like we always did, omitting senseless extended rants. You gotta do what you do best, yo.

Those boards are completely awful. Have you tried logging out and then looking in that forum?

I would just like to make a note that the main page isn't showing up in mozilla/netscape for me, it just loads up completely blank, with nothing in the html.

These boards may not be Netscape compatible. Have you considered Mozilla or Opera?

When you say "Main Page" are you referring to the main page of the forums, or the main page of the website? (Where Zherbus posts news and such?)

Also, is this a consistent problem? Or is it fixed when you hit reload?

I am referring to the main page of the site, not the forums, which work fine.  I am using Mozilla Firebird v0.7, but it didn't work for me with my old install of mozilla suite either.  It works fine for me in IE, though.

I have the same issue here.  I think the old host for www.themanadrain.com still owns the domain.  The new web host should take over soon...

No they don't and never did. Over a year ago, when I did yet another server move, people were setting TMD to load under it's 'new' IP address. When TMD moved a month ago, that IP is no longer valid but since it's set manually, that could be an issue.

I have just communicated with two different people about this problem. Neither the webpage, nor the browser is at fault. In both cases they could solve the problem by going to:

www.themanadrain.com/index.html

I believe the problem is a result of improperly cleared cache on the browser or your internet provider is using some sort of poorly configured proxy software.  Neutral

Am I to assume that I would have to earn the right to post in the other forums, even though I had access to it with the old boards?

[edit]NM, read the FAQ.[/edit]

Also, I'm curious as to whether there were going to be any enhancements to the site design or backend.  I'm fairly proficient with Photoshop and programming in PHP/MySQL, while many others on the forum probably are as well, so there are plenty of people that could help with that.

I think we're all set with programmers for now. However, if you want to make any suggestions as to enhancements or the like, feel free to start a thread. I may need to keep track of a wishlist as I already know people have been asking for a calendar.

not to be the typical newb, but my first thread was on the crap temp forum. i used the old ones, and of course theyre different but i need to know, other than puschkin's little sticky, what else i need to do to remain completely on good terms with both the moderators and community. other forums tend to be sub-par and dont really care what happens as much...

i am not familliar with the FAQ that Malus mentioned a few posts above. that page would seem like what im looking for.
