Myr-Assasin Creature-Myr Haste : Myr assasin deals 2 damage to target creature Discard a card from your hand: Myr assasin becomes indestructable and doesn't untap during your next untap step. 2/1 They never saw it comingBasically, it's an artifact creature that kills other small creatures. The haste makes it more of a surprise which I feel fits the flavor of an assasin. Because it's an assasin it only deals w/ creatures, therefore it's ability only hits creatures. Being an assassin means it' has above average intelligence thus is able to escape from otherwise fatal situations(The discard ability). Seeing as it's an artifact creature and a Myr I feel indestructiability is the best way to acomplish this. Revised version:
Darksteel Assassin Creature-myr
Haste
: Darksteel Assassin deals 2 damage to target creature. Discard a card from your hand: Darksteel Assassin becomes tapped, indestructable, and doesn't untap during your next untap step. 1/1 Memnarch had not forseen the development of such specialized Myr. Their creativity amused him.

Ridiculously overpowered, sorry. Remeber this is a creature that can be played in any colour deck. Even if it was red, it would still be really really really strong.
I would say 4cc, and taps to deal 1, maybe. Even that would probably be too much.

yeah 4cc would help and remove the haste. tape for one also sounds like a good idea. I like the discard a card to make indistructable,

I'm not sure that the indestructable ability belongs to something like an assassin. I visualize assassins as sneaky weak beings that rely upon their stealth to keep them alive.

Well, it's a myr, so maybe it curls up into a ball of metal or something. But I think indestructibility is tied in to "darksteel" somehow (the metal, not the set), so you might want to make this "darksteel myr", and mention that it's an assassin in th eflavor text.

I think it would be easier to call it Darksteel Assassin and let the fact that it is a Myr be conveyed by the flavour text, creature type, and artwork. It's easier to make something be clearly a Myr than it is to make it clearly an assassin.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Something tells me Memnarch is not the kind of guy who would permit something to escape his notice.

I like the flavor text. Thanks.
Matt- You can look at it this way. It's not that he let them escape his notice, It's more like they evolved more than he had expected and he is pleased/amused with that.

So, do you think the revised version is too powerful, or is it good?

Hrrm..I think it really is too powerful. It is strictly better than Prodigal Sorceror, having the same converted mana cost, being playable in any colour, having an additional power, haste, and an additional useful ability. That is a lot of advantage. It's better Anaba Shaman, since it comes out a turn earlier and has haste to boot, lacking only an additional point of toughness. It's probably better than either Sparksmith or Spikeshot Goblin, since it can be made to survive Pyroclasm, Wrath, or Akroma's Justice. Any two of the following: raise the cost to , remove haste, make it 1/1, would probably still leave this card as rare quality.

Umm the revised version has a cost of 4. i'll knock it down to 1/1 seeing as how assassins don't really "attack" anyways.

Sorry, I juxtaposed the costs of the revised and original versions. You ought to change the ability text in the revised version to read "Darksteel Assassin..." instead of "Myr Assassin..."

Well, I think that this is a refreshing new card. I like it quite a lot, the nifty little bugger. I'd say it's good as it is now, in it's revised version.

Discard a card from your hand: Darksteel Assassin becomes indestructable and doesn't untap during your next untap step. I would change this too... Discard a card from your hand: Darksteel Assassin becomes tapped, indestructable, and doesn't untap during your next untap step.
