OK, so you guys and gal(I know there is at least one on the board) are starting to put put exalted angel in your keeper builds. I would just like to get negative on her.

1. Takes WW4 to cast.
2. Can be made active over 2 turns for 3 then WW2
3. You can TARGET it.
4. Only hits for four as opposed to morphling(5 with the pump) and tog (OK so its not a tog deck, but you got to respect the toothy little guy)
5. Can not be cycled for tokens, or cast with tons of mana to make many angels, so you are edict bait too, and it can be smothered while played as a morph(but that is a bit circumstantial), it can also be iced (if they have it on an isochron you may have lost anyway, but a morphling or a lot of dorks can stell get in some points).
6. It can be control magicced (but who plays that), I would just like to point out again, that your win  condition is a single entity(not like lots of tokens), that can be targeted.

You can go up life, but I don't believe that is the answer to aggro. Want to answer aggro: Abyss, sticks with fire/ice and swords, Moat, smothers, DEED! (yeah thats right, lets all say whats up to Pernicious!) Hey if you guys want to go with a little more white cool, I will just play one trop and an emerald to support the most amazing mass removal outside of balance.
So now all you exalted angel lovers come defend your swordsable princess. While my Tog runs her over Smile

(NOTE to mods: the discussion was serious and my tone is playful, I want people to show me why the angel is better, because I can't believe it.)

I believe that any creature can be run in keeper and it will still win.  The effectiveness of this creature will depend on what it does.  As for Exalted wouldn't be cast on 1st - 3rd turn.  You'd protect the creature with what you have in hand.  5 toughness is a good point on the Exalted Angel.  4 power means your swinging for 5 turns.

Pros:
Flying
built in spirit link

Cons:
No built in evasion

With decks like Oshawa Stompy and other 4/4 creatures it will stand up all day.   It looks like a good choice to me.

Her lifegain ability may not be trivial either, since most control decks dropped zuran orb and other lifegain spells long ago, and it might make aggro and sligh you face in the early (or even later) rounds a little easier. It seems worth testing as a s/b choice.

I dont think you mean no built in evasion, she flies. Its just she's not pro-everything or untargetable.

I honestly believe that Angel is at least as good in keeper as Morphling.

a) you can drain directly into it without even the colored mana.
b) Aggro- angel is a much more viable option than sui-morphling. Angel is much easier to land on the table early, and can swing right away.

That said, both are not that great for keeper in my opinon, but people can play what they want.

Your right...  I missed flying as an evasion.

I am sorry to say, that I was not convinced protecting a creature that does not win me the game in one turn with counter spells, in fact taking five turns to win seems like a large risk. You can use morphling, where all you have to protect against is mass removal, and edicts as opposed to angels which are sword bait. You obviously can't use the abyss either with exalteds. Well difference of opinion, I suppose oh and I know that "keeper should be able to win with any creature", but I will stick to the faster more protected routes just in case the other person's deck packs swords (mirror? EBA?).

I haven't seen any Keeper list that have the Angel in it or morphling for that matter.  and comparing the angel to morphling is like comparing angel or morphling to Decree of Justice.  I have seen angel in other aggro control decks that already have enough targets for removal.

I know my deck sucks, you don't have to remindme... That is why I am paying 4 mana to play with yours.

@jazzykat: Exalted Angel is a sideboard card, not a maindeck finisher for pretty much a lot of the reasons you posted. The Angel is great against certain decks like WW, Sligh, Suicide, Stompy, Big O, TnT maybe Gobvantage/Goblins ( though they might be too fast).

I know some of those decks aren't the most competative ones but they are the kind of decks you can axpect in a rogue enverment. People simply like playing with (big) creatures and Exalted Angel is good times vs those decks.

I have never seen a keeperdeck with exalted, and i doesn't know about it coming, maybe it's because I play in denmark, and scepters is a great kill here.
But yeah, it's so fucking cool in some matchups, eg. stompy, sligh and suicide, with a toughness  5, sligh need to use 3 burn spells, stompy and suicide cant do a fucking shit agains it. U cant play with abyss.
Well, Exalted have some problems, It can be taget, which means that u need a lot of counters to help it to the kill, and with the power 4, it needs 5 attacks before u'll win the game.

And at last, keeper have many oppertunities for a kill( morphling, scepter, decree, stroke)
Each kill is very different, so i think it's up to the way u are playing...
