This is just a wrap up thread. Sorry it took me so long to get here. Unfortunately, since I can't see an archived comunity forum, and because I didn't save any addresses (my bad ) if you don't have the address of your SS then I'm sorry, I can't help you. To add to the mix, I think some of the previous unreggies re-registered with different names or whatnot, so contacting ppl might be a problem. The following is a list of all the people who participated. It's all out of order, and I can't remember who was an unreggie and who wasn't (most of the names should be recognizable) Dandan Kandykid Tron Magimaster CF Iamfishman Jacob Orlove Pheonix Diartze2 Beastmouth Disgustipating Reflections Stinjdon BurningIce st00mie Tanadan Jawman16 Sytupul jhaags snotball007 Bubonic wolven Xaos Robert the Swordsman Tenebrozo Tha Gunslinga Timebeing kooaznboi 1088 Comrade Seraph Tripps Tristal Afro mrieff MethodXL Toad Davido Leviat Bigchuck BWM If you'd really like to finish up with your partner, pm me because I may have the e-mail addys around here somewhere, and I could do some contacting. Otherwise, that's that. Thanks to all who participated. I can confirm that atleast a few people were able to connect. Hopefully next time disaster won't strike :p

For what it's worth, I can confirm that I both got a SS gift and that my SS gift was (well) received.

Lucky you guys. My SS has gotten my gift, but I haven't received anything, nor a PM asking about it (which would have been appreciated)

I'm in the same boat as BurningIce; the guy I sent to saw me on IRC and thanked me, etc, but I have never received anything, cards or message, from mine. *shrug* If this happened to a lot of people, we might have a hard time getting this thing going again.

I'm sorry to all who didn't recieve anything.
Next time (yes there will be another one, 10 or so months from now) will be a bit different. I have a lot of time to ponder some other "security measures". Maybe even something drastic like just regs only...
Anyhoo, just wondering of those who sent/ received, what cards did you send out or what cards did you get?

I sent a playset of fbb Mishra's Factories, and have yet to recieve anything. The factories were french, so worth essentially nothing to me, however.

Thanks leviat. BTW, do you have anybody's email address from the old site? I've gotten the name of the guy who was supposed to send to me from Magi, but he doesn't have his email. His address doesn't do me all that much good (though it was in the link you posted).

If they had an email address in their profile, then I should be able to grab it for you. Send me a PM with their old username and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks very much Leviat! That should help solve some issues... The factories were french, so worth essentially nothing to me, however. subtle social commentary? :p

Maybe even something drastic like just regs only... Unfortunately, there's just nothing that could be done to prevent any and all problems from arising. For future attempts, I would suggest setting it up to happen at a tournament and just have people that choose to participate trade items.

If there's someone everyone can trust, who's willing to pay for a lot of postage, we could all send our gifts to that person, and he could send them back out to everyone who sent one in (or right back to someone who just sends a few junk rares).
That person would have some serious postage costs, though (like $10-$20).

Or just restrict it to people that have either successfully dealt in this Secret Santa, or are known as non-rippers. I think that would help.

I had something along the lines of that brewing... - Reggies - Previous trusted people (dealt a few trades with people, has refs etc.) - Previous participants (successful) well anyways, m00t that. That's months away :p I stil haven't heard much of what people have sent out or what they recieved I pm'd my SS asking what I sent to him because I forgot.

I think the whole point of Secret Santa is that you are giving a gift, not trading. (this from someone who hasn't received anything yet)
The only modification I would make next year is to make each person send to a different person to the one who sends to you. That would reinforce the 'gift' aspect rather than the trade angle.

John sends to Jim Jim sends to Susan Susan sends to Osama Osama sends to John for example except the loop had around 50 people in it :p It was convenient this way...adding new people (there were like 10 last minute additions) was pretty simple this way. EDIT: Dandan you didn't get anything yet? hmm....

As the list of who sent to whom was never published I would think you could safely delete the old stuff.
However this was Magi's baby so I think you should PM him first.
(No, I haven't received anything. No, I don't really care. My cards found their way to their new owner, which is more important to me than getting a few more cards)

Nope, you can shut'er down Leviat. I'm done with that. I've pulled + saved anything that could be useful.
Half the people who participated seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth :p and I'm much to busy to hunt them down.
Thanks to those who participated etc.
Also, I'm hesitant to publish the list of who sent to who online. PM me and I'll send it to you.
Thanks again.
(ps. you can also close this thread too)
