Eternal Formats / Creative / [deck] Abusa Mask

Hi I just had some thoughts to your deck.
You deck looks like this if you look at the CC at each card. Its really CC heavy and you most have 1 of 5 cards to really have a chance to make a lock (Lotus or a Workshop or a shit load of mox’en)
CC X Chalice of the void
CC 0 Lion's Eye Diamond 5 Mox’en Lotus Lotus petal Crypt
CC 1 The rack Mana Vault Sol Ring CC 2
CC 3 Crucible Disrupting sceptre Ensnaring bridge Granite shard
CC 4 Uba mask Null brooch Jesters cap Noetic scales
CC 5 Memory jar
I just thinking, what will you do if a Chalice of the Void hits the table turn 1 X=0. Or what about B2B. I mean you can’t start every game and play a lock. I know that if you can get it up and running you are going to win, but do you have the time? I can’t look past that you need that winning/locking opening hand each game or you lose. Like I have seen Tinker fetch what ever big and nasty things in turn 1. If some thing like that happens, how do you recover from that? Blood Moon also kills you.
Do some more testing and let us know your findings.

Eternal Formats / Creative / [Deck] Semi-powered 4CC

looking at fish I would agree here. You need the power and Drains to run 4cc. On the other hand, whats you meta? I mean is it filled with power or is it more like the cards you have? I thing you can play 4cc if your meta issent filled with power. Might do some changes in the deck if you still want to play it. Damping Matrix: If you are really scared of Welder, who only 1 Matrix? Or at least some in the SB? issent 1 MD to random? Its the same with Null Rod, deside what way you want to go and go all the way. I think you are shooting in 2 directions with half the strenght. See my point? Mana: What do you do if a B2B hits the table or a Blood Moon? (Try to fit Cunning Wish in the deck). You need atleast 2-3 basis lands, because you must expect a strip and you cant expect to get Crucible of Worlds down evey time. Tinker I dont know about this one. You can to Island+Crypt = Darksteel Colossus turn 1 and that is really nice against aggro. But aganist control its someting else.¨ hope you can use what I said to something.

Eternal Formats / Creative / [Deck] Somewhat casual SotF engine deck.

[quote="freakish777 However, I think that Gaea's Cradle deserves one or two spots over the fetches, to provide alternate ways to abuse the SotF with extra mana.[/quote]
Yes, why not. Would be worth testing. But take Eladamri's Vineyard out before any fetches. I dont like Eladamri's Vineyard personally.

Eternal Formats / Creative / [Deck] R/W sligh for the new type 1

Hi I cant help thinking why you play white cards in Sligh? In my small head Sligh is "Speed and Burn". I think you are wasting to much on 6 white creatures and 4 StP. Ok, you want to play white and that’s your call, but take the Exalted Angel out, they don’t fit in with the “speed of the deck.
Fire/Ice Vs. Incinerates: Why not do the extra 1 damage for the same casting cost?
Scrolls Vs. Isochron Scepter Im not a big fan of this card, I much rather play with Isochron Scepter. The Scepter is so usefull is this deck and is there a no Null Rods in your meta, I would go for it. The Scepter has so many cards is can use: Fire/Ice (you can play Fire or Ice now) StP (Bring them on) Lightning Bolt (Shooter Hell) Incinerates (Shooter Hell) REB (Bring on the Blue) Price of Progress (only if you see many duals or other non basis lands) This is a choise you have to make, I just listed the potential. The draw back is naturally that is 2 mana to cast and then 2 more to activate, but with your 2 moxen, a turn 1-2 Scepter is not impossible.
Gorilla Shaman Vs. Vandal I see your point, but I would go with the Shaman because like you said your self “Vandals are slower.
I would play mono red Sligh if I was you, but I’m not you.
My point I’m trying to make it Sligh is speed and I think mono red will be more consistence. Some cards can be changed if you like to or not, many times it depends what the given player likes or dislikes.
Hope you can use it -MTG_Djinn

//Mana 2 Mountain 4 Forest 4 Taiga 4 Wooded Foothills 6 LoMoxen 4 Eladamri's Vineyard
//The Engine 4 Survival of the Fittest 4 Bazaar of Baghdad 3 Squee Goblin Nabob 1 Anger
//Beats 4 Arrogant Wurm 4 Blastoderm 4 Flametongue Kavu 4 Basking Rootwalla
//I hate Workshop and Welders 4 Null Rod (this should really come out) 4 Fiery Temper Hi How is you manabase working out for you? Im thinking that you could cut 1 Mountain and 1 Forest and ad 2 windswept heath so you manabare looks like this: 1 Mountain 3 Forest 4 Taiga 2 Windswept Heath. 4 Wooded Foothills 6 LoMoxen 4 Eladamri's Vineyard I really think that 1 mountain is more then enough on the basis that you have no 2RR spells (only to hard cast Fiery Temper). It also gives you the 1 red you need is B2B is in play, besides you still have the ruby and the lotus. I also removed 1 forest because I think a fetch more will give you a more stable manabase. The 2 added fetches cant get red but I really don’t think that will be a problem at all, because most of the time you get a Tiaga the first times you fetch. 4 Blastoderm Why not Roar of the Wurm? You should have no problem getting it in to the grave with Bazaar of Baghdad. Its 6/6 and it dosent leave unless its killed. And yes I think Pyrostatic Pillar might work instead of Null Rod. -MTG_Djinn (Ps. You got the power, why not try to move it up from casual to competitive)

@Rane If they ever see you put this on a stick they WILL counter it How is that possible? You only imprint, if its not countered! @Feanor 4 Reckless Charge is to many with only 10 Creatures. I think that these cards should be in every Ankh Sligh deck. the starting line up if you will: //Burn (12) 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Incinerate 4 Price of Progress //Critters (8) 4 Gorilla Shaman 4 Jackal Pup //Utillity (4) 4 ankh of mishra //Mana X Mountain 4 Wasteland 1 Stripmine 1 Mox Ruby The remaning slots are then up to the person that are playing the deck, because we all have different cards we like more then others. -MTG_Djinn

I have tried Scepter and Cursed Scroll, i still prefer the scroll. Colorless burn is cool, and you dont loose the first bolt and early beatings. What can I say! I dont agree on this one. I like the scepter more because it hits its target every single time, it can ofcourse be countered but the Scroll dont hit every time. The scroll also needs 3 mana to activate, and thats a lot in Sligh. The Scepter is also cool because it can more then just shoot, is has Price of Progress and Fork as targets. Not many decks are loadet with artifact removal so with 4 Scepters I like the odds. My testing shows me that the Scepters gets a lot more use then the Scrolls. -MTG_Djinn

Eternal Formats / Creative / Ankh Sligh

Hi Im playing a very standart Sligh:
10 Mountain 4 Barbarian Ring 1 Black Lotus 1 Sol Ring 1 Mox Ruby 1 Strip Mine 4 Wasteland 4 Goblin Cadets 4 Gorilla Shaman 4 Jackal Pup 4 Ankh of Mishra 1 Black Vise 4 Chain Lightning 4 Isochron Scepter 1 Fork 4 Incinerate 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Price of Progress
Cards im thinking of looking in to are Slith Firewalker and Grim Lavamancer but dont have any at the moment. But you should really give Isochron Scepter a test run. If you meta looks like that you might wanna run Blood Moon in main. I dont quite agree with Yttric Ventus that the Lotus is bad, because it can give you a killer start or mana when you got Ankh down.
Good luck. -MTG_Djinn

Hi all.
Just need some comments on my build. Thinking on taking it to a Mox price turnament in 2 weeks.
The deck:
//Mana (26)
4 Flooded Strand 1 Pooluted Delta 3 Underground Sea 3 Tundra 1 Island 3 Volcanic Island 1 Library of Alexandria 3 Wasteland 1 Strip Mine 1 Mox Jet 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Ruby 1 Black Lotus 1 Sol Ring
//Manipulation/Search (12)
1 Ancestral Recall 1 Mystical Tutor 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Fact or Fiction 3 Cunning Wish 4 Brainstorm 1 Skeletal Scrying
//Removal (3)
2 Fire/Ice 1 Swords to Plowshares
//Countermagic (10)
2 Stifle 4 Mana Drain 4 Force of Will
//Additional Brokenness (6)
1 Time Walk 1 Yawgmoth's Will 2 Isochron Scepter (17 targets) 1 Balance 1 Disenchant
//Win Conditions (3)
2 Decree of Justice 1 Gorilla Shaman
SB: 1 Disenchant (Cunning Wish card) 1 Fire/Ice (Cunning Wish card) 1 Swords to Plowshares (Cunning Wish card) 1 Stifle (Cunning Wish card) 1 Skeletal Scrying (Cunning Wish card) 3 Red Elemental Blast (Cunning Wish card) 1 Blue Elemental Blast (Cunning Wish card) 1 Coffin Purge (Cunning Wish card) 1 Meltdown 1 Hurkyl's Recal (Cunning Wish card) 3 Chalice of the Void
Some deck choises: - 4th Waste: Needed a free slot and the Stifle makes up for the loss. + Vampiric Tutor: A tutor is always nice and its a good Scepter target. + Disenchant: There is always some target for this card and I like to have an "anti" artifact card in main so I dont have to wish for one.
My Meta is nuts. there is chance for every deck. Arround 4-5 people have the cards to make every deck to date. Then some are control players and some are combo players. And there is always the aggro decks.
Main worry is my SB.
Thanks MTG_Djinn

WHAT!!! Chalice of the Void for three does hurt the deck BUT: The powder keg is fast enough against that chalice (since xx counts as 0 for converted mana cost). Another way to stop my opponents chalice (and his moxes) is my own chalice for 0.
If you have a Chalice X=0, you wount counter my Chalice X=3. True the CC i 0 when its in the table, but not when im casting it. So if you have to cast Powder Keg after my chalice, I have 3 turns to do what ever I want and I have time to deal with the Powder Keg.

Hi I think Tormod's Crypt is one of the best cards to handle with the Dragon combo.
Your deck.
Casting cost - numbers - Card name.
Land destrucktion: 3 - 3 Winter's Grasp 3 - 4 Thermokarst 3 - 4 Ice Storm
Creature: 3 - 4 Terravore 1 - 4 Llanowar Elves 1 - 4 Fyndhorn Elves
Lock/control: 3 - 4 Tangle Wire X - 4 Chalice of the Void 2 - 3 Ankh of Mishra 2 - 4 Powder Keg
Mana: 1 - 1 Sol Ring 4 Wasteland 1 Strip Mine 2 Pendelhaven 2 Dust Bowl 1 Sol Ring 12 Forest
All you landdestrucktion has 3 in casting cost + you main kill Terravore. Against any deck with Chalice of the Void in main or SB your chances are very slim in the long run. Even Tangle Wire gets it with a Chalice = 3. Many decks have no problem with making 6 mana in the first 2-3 turns. Any Workshopdeck would have no problems and most blue control (Mana Drain/Moxen/Lotus) will have the chance of rasing the mana.
Why no Emerald and Lotus?
Powder Keg is good but to slow.
I would think about Naturalize/Crumble in main.

Hi Have you looked at Goblin Warchief?? I find it really great with Goblin Recruiter. Also why Goblin Grenade? Its not a Instant so you cant sacrifice it in respons to its death. Would a shooter like Incinerate not be better?
