After reading this post I realize I haven't really looked at Standstill like this before.  I have almost always considered it an auto-include in fish style decks because in my mind it "evens" the card drawing between other decks and fish.  I never really thought about it as a liability especially when it comes to topdecking or an unfavorable board position.  Very interesting.

Hi there, I am new to this forum and just returning to the Vintage scene but I have played for some time.  My thoughts are that Trinket Mage is an infinitely superior card because it is a threat itself as well as a Lotus grabber, combo piece grabber, etc.  It can protect you as well as go on the aggressive and with the rise of the Time Vault/Key and Grindstone/Servant decks ONLY getting a 1 or 0 isn't terribly relevant as that's generally all that is required.  In all the matches I have played I don't think I have ever been unhappy to draw a body + tutor.  But that's just my two cents......

This was definitely good times!  I must find something else to play because Landstill is so slow and boring.  But seriously, it was an awesome event and I'm quite excited to keep playing some Vintage and Legacy.  I look forward to the next event!

I am also wondering a similar thing.  I would like to know of the best time/place/way to play on MWS with people who play real Type 1 or if there is a best way to find people.
Thanks!

Hi everybody, my name is Philip Miles.

I live in London, Ontario, Canada and I have played Magic with some modicum of success and results for 6-7 years.  I only played limited/Standard/Extended for the longest time then 3 years ago I traded all my Standard cards for Vintage and had a blast with that for about a year.  It was fun and the prizes for Vintage in Ontario are always excellent (meaning at the very least a Mox usually)  During this time I literally had ALL the Vintage cards and was enjoying it immensely then I encountered some enormous financial problems and was forced to sell everything.  So for a couple years I was almost completely out of magic aside from a tiny bit of Standard and limited.  Recently I found myself with more time and a little money so I am slowly trying to get back into Legacy/Vintage.
Through all my experience Vintage is by far the most fun format I have ever played!
If anyone is in Ontario add me to MSN philip_miles@hotmail.com and we can chat/trashtalk/whatever about Vintage/Legacy.
On MWS my name is PhillyCheeseSteak so I will hopefully see you soon!!!
