1  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Deck Discussion] EBA on: March 14, 2004, 03:07:35 pm
i like the negators in there instead of the decrees. i tested decree a little and didnt like it. i havent tried it yet but how do u think shadowmage would do instead of ophidian?
2  Eternal Formats / Creative / Your opinion: Unbroken Gems on: February 02, 2004, 10:03:07 pm
stasis
doomsday
CANDELABRA of TAWNOS
eureka
time vault
and a lot of other cards people keep mentioning

we'll just have to wait and see what $20 card will become format braking and jumps up $100 in a couple of months.
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Mixing Mike's 'Keeper" List on: January 25, 2004, 11:51:38 am
the deck looks fine. It seems like it would handle aggro but make sure ur prepared for long. Its an underated dck. It will become a really good deck again. and what he posted isnt crap master tap
4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / dont use greaves on: January 24, 2004, 09:52:37 pm
there r much better cards to put in than greaves. that card is only good against some decks. u should put in something more consistant.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions about T1; the idea that you can only play if you own the Power10 cards. Of course, you won't be able able to play decks such as wMUD, Keeper, and other decks requiring most, if not all, of the Power. However, there are other decks that can run fine without Power.

Mud and keeper are two of the best decks in the format. so not being able to play those does hurt your ability to play in serious tournements. The decks that run ok without power are not as fast or consistent as the ones fully powered.

Please try to refrain from using dumb abvreviations, thanks.
6  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Bloody Mask on: January 24, 2004, 06:12:28 pm
dont put in lightning greaves. bad idea, and 4 spoils is fine just make it a more tuned to be spoils mask, its a really good deck. i would try spoils mask instead of ur current build
7  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Guidance on Getting Power on: January 24, 2004, 06:07:43 pm
its key if u no paople that played and quit. like i picked up a jet this week for 150

or my cousin picking up a nice stack of cards ( alpha jet was in there) from his friend for dirt cheap.

or last year at origins we found a small dealer that didnt look like he would have power but we went there any way and he had a nice ruby for 120.

shopping around takes time but its worth it
8  Eternal Formats / Creative / power 9 on: January 24, 2004, 05:51:53 pm
i feel that power is very important on t1. so how many of you actually own any ( not the library)? how important do you feel the power 9 is now in the current metagame ( now that new budget decks r coming out)?
9  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / My parfait on: January 23, 2004, 07:25:46 pm
I do not believe Parfait to be an optimal choice for the current Type 1 environment. I feel that Keeper is far superior against a general field and advise you to play that instead.

That was surprisingly very stress relieving. - kl0wn

11  Eternal Formats / Creative / scepter in keeper on: January 21, 2004, 06:01:39 pm
u dont need to build a deck around scepter. its already good by itself. but fire and ice is a good card to have on a stick. i dont think u have to change keeper to a different deck to fit in a scepter.
12  Eternal Formats / Creative / My ISO/keeper build on: January 21, 2004, 03:10:01 pm
go down a scepter. u only need 1 ( tutor for it). put in another swords instead.
13  Eternal Formats / Creative / scepter on: January 21, 2004, 03:02:32 pm
ok so shattering pulse isnt the best choice. there are still lots of times when it is very good. they dont use it for no reason in europe. it is good against aggro which mabe starting to come back. the new stompy decks have potential. so sceptering a swords is very good.
14  Eternal Formats / Creative / scepter in keeper on: January 20, 2004, 08:17:45 pm
becasue i cant post on the other keeper forum i have decided to start one of my own.
in the type 1 forum there is a new list for keeper. After testing their build i find that it is very strong. except i find that using 1 scepter makes it even stronger. i think 1 is the right number. there are a lot of times it is a dead card. it can aslo be card disadvantage. just tutoring for a scepter works. so i like 1. im in the middle of testing minus 1 wish and plus 1 scepter. i find that the wish is what helps make scepter strong. like wishing for a shattering pulse in a lot of situations. so the testing will continue and i will post and update of scepter and what is taken out.
15  Eternal Formats / Creative / Question on using Chalice of the Void on: January 20, 2004, 05:15:00 pm
chalice for 2 is very key in many matchups. it most importantly kills mana drain. it shouldnt be a problem to drop that very early, like 1st or 2nd turn. and once it is in play theres only a few cards that are shut off for u, depending on the build ( mostly just the walk).
16  Eternal Formats / Creative / Is Mono Black Suicide still viable in this year's meta? on: January 20, 2004, 05:08:59 pm
sui is a metagame call. if ur going to run into a lot of workshop decks dont play it. dont bother sideboarding for it either. the match up is like an auto loss, concentrate ur board for other match ups. it is great against control. that is what it is designed to beat
but i do think it is playable, just becareful with it
17  Eternal Formats / Creative / T1 Hulk on budget on: January 18, 2004, 11:11:12 pm
get rid of sylvan library and put in another intuition. but besides that for a budget deck try grow atog instead of hulk
