i was really happy the finals wasnt dredge vs shops. i loved watching bob on coverage, good analysis and stories. gratz to our new vintage world champion, brian kelly.
anyone else feel robert scooped early game 1? maybe all his outs were inaccessable, or he know brian would have too many counters to overcome. notion theif mirror was fun to watch.
im also interested in danny bettermans peoples cannon list.

2UU Bident of Thassa Legendary Enchantment Artifact Rare Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card. 1{U}, : Creatures your opponents control attack this turn if able. The wills of mortals shift as the tide ebbs and flows. #42/249 --- seems pretty good for a fishy type deck, although the cost could be a problem at UU. if the ability was target, it could be better, but it does get around hexproof shenanigans. ive been out of the game for a while, but this piqued my interest. enchantment makes it susceptible to enchantment hate, which is typically not as numerous as artifact hate. the legendary type makes it so packing more than 1 is bad, and it being somewhat of a possible draw engine makes that a huge set back. i dont think this is better than confidant, or selkie/ninja (which sees little/no play). anyway, didnt see a topic for this card and thought it deserved at least a little discussion, if just to dismiss it as a worse version of a card that exists (im bad at that type of thing). the fact that it doesnt swing or do anything when it comes into play, and its cost, make it arguably unplayable... but i want to like it!

nice to see ryan, web, smmenen, fob and bc come out. some real good players in this scene right now. would love to hear more about bob-caster vs. snapcaster semi finals. i've been playing around with a bob-snap cast thing myself, but with trygons and no red, and another version with quion dryad and 4 colors... i am hoping i will be able to make it to these or web will start hosting CF vintage at superstars in san jose again.
i love web's control package. echoing truth for some reason is always fighting for spots in my lists.
i hate it when dredge wins anything. just makes me add another sb card... apparently 6 cards is not enough hate.

what works in modern or legacy may not work in vintage. there were a one/few in the modern pro tourny that decided to just stick with the blood braid, bob and goyf and not go with the shaman... for whatever reason. ooze is played with goyf, but it offsets by buffing itself. lavamancer doesnt name specific card types, so there is some wiggle room there.
it seems to me that the utility and versatility of shaman has to be weighed against the lines of play either cut off, or sacrafices made by its inclusion and interaction with goyf. it could theoretically go into a more turbo/control deck, but i think it is perfect for a beats gameplan, but as i said, those game plans often involve goyf. maybe a BUG-still build.

serra, arent u the one that played noxious revival decks on MWS?
snapcaster and treasure find have a pretty good synergy late game, but by that time my one of regrowth would be the livesaver, not the 3 card 7+ mana, -1 card advantage thatsnap woudl give me.
maybe soemthing for bug depths resiliance... i just think that the 0 cost of noxious is worth the not in hand effect.

in terms of things this could replace in bant
delver snapcaster shardless agent cage stony silence
are any of these clearly worse than this dryad? i would say no, but the dryad doe4s seem to be about on par with some of these.

wanted to bump this thread due to the unrestriction of FoF. switching out sensei's for FoF might test okay, but sounds like a trade down on paper. maybe the welder route is the way to go... that will require a retune of 10-15 cards, and will destabalize the mana base a bit, but makes FoF piles much more resiliant.
Thread necro is fun and all, but a new topic would probably be more beneficial to trying to have this discussion in a thread with no responses since March of this year. I'm going to start a new thread for this discussion - Prospero.

sounds like you need to diversify your hate a bit, but you have a transformational sb, so you dont have many slots. I would think boarding into druid over oath is better against dredge, then you are racing them and making their claims dead against your win condition. Typically you need to have a leyline/crypt/spellbomb and a jailer to get control, because they typically will have a chain and a claim, but if they dont win then you get to play your jailer again next turn. Unfortunatly, they will hold the chain until they can go for the win. if you made room for LotV main then you might have a chance.

im having trouble firguring out if i want hellkite, null rod or precursor. I think hellkite is right if trygon is on the comeback. null rod is such a beast in this build. precursor will end games 1 turn earlier, which is no laughing matter, but may be win more. i have not had too much trouble getting control of the board, but null rod stops many surprise shenanigans dead in their tracks.
