1  Eternal Formats / Null Rod Based Aggro / Re: The Mountains Win Again is Back! on: September 27, 2013, 08:20:38 am
Xouman,

I thought that you need to elevate the number of sol lands to 6 at least (4 ancient tomb + 2 City of Traitors as you expect to drop consistently Blood Moon or CotV) - 4 Blood Moons is a must in this kind of deck, I think, as Magus will be easy answered.

As vaughnbros I am not sold if CotV is better than Null Rod in your built and if Kuldotha Phoenix is the right finisher. In the first case (Null Rod instead of CotV) you will have permanently a gain in the form of good CC1-CC2 answers like REB/Pyroblasts / Bolt / Shattering Spree and of course the opportunity to play Cage.

What do you think about Burning Wish? You can build a good suite of red sorceries targets in sideboard (Shatering Spree, Meltdown, p.e.), including the ones that have alternative costs (Pulverize, Cave-In, Flameshot).

Good Luck in LCV

Onto the top8! Note: The monored painter is meant for being played unpowered at the bazaar of moxen Paris to try and win the unpowered prize.

Peter, can Marius Hausmann talk a little about his monored painter?

Like The Atog Lord deck posted in another thread, Marius Hausman deck is a translation to vintage of the legacy Imperial Painter. The great difference here is the sweep of Sensei's Divining Top for Faithless Looting.

Sofi doesn't work as you choose blue with Painter.

Any chance to 'Ral Zarek', the new Planewalker, sees play in UR Landstill?

Uba Mask + Bazaar is another combination that you can explore - Uba Mask negates the discard drawback of Bazaar.

Xavier Hurtado made T4 last month with Uba Mask in a 48 players Event (LCV). He wrote a report in Catalán (if you can read spanish is very easy to understand). Here is the link: http://www.eternalcatala.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2283

The list, compiled by PeAch is:

Top 4 - Xavier Hurtado - Uba MUD

4 Ancient Tomb
3 Bazaar of Baghdad
2 Buried Ruin
4 Mishra's Workshop
1 Strip Mine
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Wasteland
4 Lodestone Golem
3 Phyrexian Metamorph
1 Black Lotus
4 Chalice of the Void
3 Crucible of Worlds

PeAch, can you ask to Piña if he had considered Tarmogoyf in his deck?
9  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: "The Unbroken" U/R Landstill: The Primer on: January 31, 2012, 04:04:36 pm
Perhaps Null Rod can be packed in SB. The actual Dredge hate consumes 7 slots (4 Leylines + 1 Jailer + 2 Underground Sea). If Josh are right and Cage works well in 1-3 numbers, Landstill can packs 4 Null Rod in SB to play mana denial strategy and we still put 1 Underground Sea to jump EE sunburst counters to 3.

Josh, what do you think of Grafdigger's Cage in Landstill? It is maindeck material or SB only? In the second case, Grafdigger's Cage will open 3 slots. Can you see that Trinket Mage deserves a slot, since it searchs EE and Grafdigger's Cage?

Magic Geek,

I really like your deck. It makes me play blue again. I have some questions:

What do you think that Snapcaster Mage deserves inclusion in The Wheel? In your report you said that Porcelain Legionnaire helps against MUD? Lose Hope can be Darkblast and Teferi's Response can be Stifle?
