1  Vintage Community Discussion / Non-Vintage / Jumping into Legacy tournament play on: April 05, 2010, 10:16:39 am
So I played magic when I was a kid and recently got back into it. I've been having fun playing vintage at my local store's weekly tournaments and tinkering with the vintage decks I've built since getting back into it. So the store I play at recently announced that they would be holding a legacy tournament where the top prize would be a mox. I do not know legacy at all, but I still would like to do my best to try and win this mox. My biggest hurdle at the moment is the fact that I do not know the metagame at all and as it stands I've got a pretty generic deck/board. My question to all of you is what resources would you use if you were in my position and how would you prepare for this tournament?  I have the following deck as my chosen deck for the tournament:

I was under the impression that triggers didn't work that way. I suspected that wizards wouldn't be dumb enough to basically make a time vault/voltaic key in standard.

OK, so here's my question.

Magosi, the Waterveil enters the battlefield tapped.
Tap: Add U to your mana pool.
U, Tap: Put an eon counter on Magosi, the Waterveil. Skip your next turn.
Tap, Remove an eon counter from Magosi, the Waterveil and return it to its owner's hand: Take an extra turn after this one.

If I have multiple amulets in play, can I untap, add the aeon counter, then untap for the second trigger and use the extra turn ability. I'm probably mistaken on this, so please correct me if I'm wrong. If you have a skip a turn effect and a take an extra turn effect both on the stack which resolve at the same time, shouldn't I get to choose which resolves first?
