Eternal Formats / Workshop-Based Prison / Re: Mud should play neither Null Rod nor Juggernaut

Much of my criticism is answered with the board. I do like the two Crucibles in the board although I wonder if there should be more since you really want them against any deck with Wasteland.
I took second at RIW's Vintage tournament with Menendian's deck this weekend with only one minor variation. I went down to three Null Rods main and added a second Razormane main while swapping them around in the board for three Crucibles and one Masticore side. Null Rod was good all day, especially against the other MUD decks that were running sets of Metalworkers in place of Rods.

Eternal Formats / Creative / [Double Card Discussion] Triskelavus! Academy Ruins!

Triskelavus 7 Artifact Creature - Construct Flying This comes into play with 3 +1/+1 counters 1, Remove a counter from Triselavus: Put a 1/1 Triskelavite artifact creature token with flying into play. It has "Sacriffice this creature: This creature deals 1 damage to target creature or player" 1/1 266/301 Rare.
I love giant big artifacts. If anyone's still playing old-skool CS with maindeck Trike and Bus, this guy deserves consideration. It's a 4/4 flyer for 7 (the lose!) that makes flying Mogg Fanatics. Unfortunately, the kids can not get back on the New Bus.
Academy Ruins Legendary Land Tap: Add 1 to your mana pool 1U, tap: put target artifact card in your graveyard on top of your library. 269/301 Rare.
It recurs Lotus! It, umm, also recurs Lotus. And Lotus. Maybe, like a countered Juggernaut, too. Dude, you'd totally pwn n00bs that Drain Juggers if you could only recur them. <-- this is untrue! In other formats, might be busted. Allows for Slavelock in Extended Tron.

Eternal Formats / Creative / What's Rogue Now?, or Is Aggro Ignored?

This is generally similar to Smmenen's topics, but directed at a more narrow question that he hasn't posed. In a field as diverse as that of current Vintage, how succesful must a deck be and for how long before it is accepted as a part of the ideal or given metagame?
Things like FCG, Dreidel.dec, and possibly, umm, whatever LoamZombieAggro is called are able to put people into the T8 with some regularity, but in my experience they are still regarded as statistical outliers. Is testing vs. Aggro dead, given that most decks gameplan against Aggro strategies remains constant?

Jeebus, I'm starting to sound like the people I play with, but:
How is this better than any other aggro strategy? FCG is faster and almost as disruptive with less dead cards against other aggro, Oath is quite possibly faster and more able to protect itself and also runs less random dead cards. Furthermore, most of your disruption can be played around effectively due to your rather slow clock. And like all Stompy, combo will run over you.
That said, I proxied this up. It's fun, I just don't see it going very far.

Mana Sources 2x Volcanic Island
[snip]
Granted you may have to run a mana base kind of like mine (which is terrible if you are playing against people running B2B etc, but it has preformed fairly well. Not to mention it makes you realize that you dont mind playing sundering titan at any time because it never nukes any of your lands and choke never affects you as well.
You're running 2 Volcs. Why are you running 2 Volcs? Also, with a Shop/Tomb manabase, you could run Jittes yourself instead of Damping Matrix.

Now what do you guys think of Emissary of Despair as a SB card. Its a 2/1 for 1BB Flying, When it deals damage to a player he or she loses 1 damage for each artifact they control. I was just thinking this could help out with the CS and Artifact heavy decks. What do you guys think?
I think, though I'm not an expert with Suicide Fish, that the CC is one too high (you really want your Vials at 2 unless you've shifted your gameplan against control to Vialing out Negators) and that Chalice for 0 and fast beats should be shoring up your CS matchup already. It also dies to Lava Dart, which CS might bring in against you to make you sac permanents to Negator (Dart is card/board advantage with Negs out). It might work against Shop Aggro, but Shop Aggro can block it with Platz. I'd look elsewhere, though I haven't tested it.

Don't forget Chains wrecks Combo as well, not to mention aggro control such as Fish. Chains gives Fish a new trick, as they can break their own Standstill to Chains you for three.
