I would say the the original mask decks faces a big problem in our metagame. A simple tainted mask or vengeur mask cannot compete with the workshop decks that are around our metagame, doesn't stand a chance vs oath and dies easily to combo.
That is the main reason why I went for workshop mask. I have all the strenghts of a 5/3 deck with an extra kill condition. Only downside is that I have less removal. I can even play my own Goblin Welders without fear for their counters or under a trinisphere. Add Chains of Mephistoteles and most combo and control decks isn't a problem anymore.

Turn 1 3Sphere or Chains can be devastating to combo and control. Try to brainstorm with Chains out Razz. My own welders and juggernauts are just as powerful as those of other workshop decks plus I have dreadnoughts to smash their faces with.

In the tournement I lost  to a 5c Stacker deck, with him having 2 active welders and me a dreadnought in my grave the first round and him getting 3Sphere/Cruiciable lock on me turn 1 the last round. And drew to a 3c keeper, who removed all my creatures from the game.

One question: Why no Time Walk in your build? Thought TW was a must in most combo decks  Confused

Oath is not the deck u'll have most problem with. I can say the control build might be powerful, but i believe a workshop deck is the right place for mask. You can trick your opponent by sneaking in a Goblin Welder between your Dreadnoughts, while Juggernauts also beats hard. Trinisphere is a must is that deck of course...

Would this deck be playable with only 5 Powercards? ( Recall, Lotus, 3 Moxen proxed, ) ?

It will work, but the deck will lose much of it's power. Timetwister is almost a must in this deck (ok, sometimes windfall is better) and not running a full set of moxes makes you lose a lot tempo. Some other combo decks (like Doomsday) will be more suitable for budget play.

Well, I played a mask deck two weeks ago. It worked perfecty fine, but it was a workshop version. My only problem was a keeper deck that plowed all of my juggernauts and dreadnoughts(recurring them using cunning wish). I used Chains of Mephistloteles in my build to gain an upper hand against combo and control. Another weakness is that if a goblin welder weld in your dreadnought you'll be in a pretty bad shape.
Living Wish would be an interesting card to my deck though

You have creature removal round 1 against Oath. Annuls can be useful in the board, but not maindeck. They can perhaps replace the disenchants. I've played U/R fish and I liked that deck a lot. That is until i got Slaver to play with.
I think this deck is more powerful that the version with red splash. You have better chances to take out bigger creatures.

so annul only counters artifacts eh? what about taking out an oath? isnt that good? and null rod doenst turn off trinisphere or sphere of res. and what about the fat creatures? null rod doent take care of them.

Null rod it supposed to shut down the artifact mana. You have wasteland to deal with workshops and removal for their creatures. Trinisphere is not a really big threat once you learn how to deal with it. And you have meddling mages to shut down some of their most annoying spells. Feel free to tech this deck to suit your meta, but I think this is one of the strongest builds to deal with Welder decks and Oath. I'm not sure about the sideboard though. Chill? useless against oath and workshop. Would rather have graveyard hate etc... Also, if you are expecting a lot of back to basics in your meta, a single plains would have been welcome in this deck providing you have 4 flooded strands.

1) Fish have some problems against Oath if they do not run any bounce or removal spells. You won't need annul because the null rod takes care of artifacts.
2) Disenchant is an instant meaning you can cast it at end of turn. This is very useful because of your counterspells.
3) Rootwater thief is too slow. In a game they really count, they would be killed long before they can remove all threats.
4) The firewalkers are there to take out welders. They don't die to fire/ice and can even shoot at the players as a final killing method.

I feel pretty ignored here...

But here is my opinions:

I agree that Chain of vapor is much better that seal of cleansing. Chain stops Oath too, while it can't backfire on you. You have almost no pernaments worthy to bounce (except perhaps a illusion).

I think Death Wish may be worth thinking of. It can get you any cards that you might be needing. Have played so many times against workshop players who had activated their Jester's caps to remove my donates. Also, having a Tendril SB so you can wish for a storm based kill is also sometimes useful. I cut the Timetwister for it.

Mox Diamond is useless in this deck in my opinion. It is a combo deck all right, but you have too few lands in the deck. Only time you may make good use of it is when you bargin and then the game is favoring you by 99% when you have a bargin anyway.

I really liked the Form of the Dragon. Gives a couple of wins againt many aggro decks, but I think I would still have won 90% of these games if I went for Bargin.

Ever thought of adding a tendril to the SB and add a Wish main? I've had plenty of times where all my illusions have been countered. I've added a death wish main and i've won a lot of games wishing for a tendril SB
