1  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Looking for competetive vintage players in Northwest CT on: February 24, 2006, 02:06:12 am
When you say Bristol do, you mean Omni? I live Wethersfield and play at the Omni Comics and Cards there. However, for good competition, if its not too far a drive, is Sam's in Meridan. Good people (both socially and playskillwise), weekly Type 1 tournies, and a fun time.

Metallica- Stone Cold Crazy
Metallica- Last Caress/Green Hell
Johnny Cash- Hurt (So many people think that this is the original)
Richard Cheese- Down with the Sickness- favorite song by his, hilarious in the movie Dawn of the Dead

NOT Sweet Child of Mine by the country girl singer (little embarassed from forgetting her name.)
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: The performance of Oath at Waterbury on: February 18, 2006, 12:10:32 pm
I played Oath in the tournament, and I have to say, I did not have that much of a problem with U/W Fish. However, I'm not saying that it is a cake walk either. As mentioned before, they have a lot of MD hate against you and even more SB. The decks I faced had Disenchants (no Seals), Swords, Rootwater Thief,  and Meddling Mage MD, plus Extract and Echoing Truth SB. One thing that I packed in my sideboard that owned Fish all day was 2 copies of Iridescent Angel (4/4 Flying, Pro Colors, for those who don't remember Odyssey block).  After I side those in, all I have to do is force through an Oath and make it stick; that's usually game over.  Most Fish decks have no answer to that, unless they're playing Maze of Ith (not a common occurrence), which I have Wastelands for.

Next question. What did Laplante play?

Becaouse I don't think anyone answered this yet, Travis was playing a 5 color stax decklist. I lost to him round 8, and was disappointed in him missing Top 16 by 1 slot.
5  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / Artist's Challenge Question on: August 08, 2005, 12:46:51 pm
I wasn't sure if this should go in the Rules Forum, but since this is about Artist's Challenge (a casual format), I put it here.
Are Portal cards legal for this format?
Also, where can you get a full description and rules for this format?
6  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Bolo Anyone? on: May 05, 2005, 03:35:44 pm
Back about 8 years ago, I took a computer class and was introduced to the Mac computer game known as Bolo. It was a very simple network game involving you driving a 3D tank around and killing your opponents, but for some reason it was amazingly fun.  Has anyone else ever heard of it, and if so do you know where I can find it? Thanks.

No Bullwhip?

That is a horrible, horrible first post. You're on my watch list.  - Bram
