I've felt like Goblins has been a really good choice for a while now because of its very strong match-ups against Tez, Stax, Mystic Remora/Meditate, and aggro/hate, but I've never tried a three-color list. I would guess that Earwig Squad only helps the match-ups that are already good, right? Was Extirpate better than the options you would have in a R/g list (Tormod's Crypt, Leyline of the Void, or Relic of Progenitus)? Who beat you to move to the finals, and what happened?
I typically run a R/b list. Though I hadn't played in a vintage tournament in around 8 months, I've been keeping an eye on the metagame at Myriad. It seemed like there was more Stax showing up lately, so I added green for Hooligans and Krosan Grips incase Oath showed up. Earwig Squad does help in the combo and Tezz matchups. It allows me to hurt decks with few win conditions. As for Extirpate, it was there primarily for Dredge but can also be used in other matchups better than Crypt or Relic. The only matches I lost were to DA. In the 4 games we played, I lost on his turn 2 twice, turn 3 once, and I think turn 5 or 6. I played him in the first round. After that, I beat Stax, burn, BUG fish, and Tezz to make top 8. I won against Fox's aggro deck. In the top 4 I lost turn 2 in the first game. In the second game I forgot about him bringing in Engineered Plagues and forgot to bring in the Grips. Though, I doubt it would have mattered as he won on turn 5 or 6 with a tinkered Inkwell and Engineered Plague in play.

The times I've faced Ichorid in tournaments, it's been pretty easy beating Ichorid. Maindeck, I have 4 Wastelands and 1 Strip Mine to deal with Bazaar. 4 Fanatics to deal with Bridges, and Earwig Squads to clean up whatever, as long as I get it early enough. The Extripates are just an added help against it.

1. Which disruption piece is the best? Chalice, Thorn of Amethyst, Blasts maindeck, Leyline of the Void or Null Rod? I use Null Rod main, and Thorns in the sideboard. 3. Splash black or no? If so, what do you splash? Black sideboard cards? I do for 4 Earwig Squad main and 3 Extirpate in the sideboard. Here's my current list: 4 Goblin Piledriver 4 Mogg Fanatic 4 Goblin Matron 4 Goblin Lackey 4 Goblin Ringleader 4 Earwig Squad 4 Goblin Warchief 4 Null Rod 2 Gempalm Incinerator 1 Stingscourger 1 Black Lotus 1 Mox Ruby 1 Mox Jet 1 Mana Crypt 1 Lotus Petal 3 Bloodstained Mire 2 Wooded Foothills 4 Badlands 6 Mountain 4 Wasteland 1 Strip Mine Sideboard 4 Thorn of Amethyst 3 Extirpate 3 Smash to Smithereens 2 Pyrostatic Pillar 1 Shattering Spree 1 Goblin Welder 1 Gaea's Blessing

@ Kaos:
".... turn 3 his turn...reb destroying my pithing needle, reb destroying my other pithing needle and wins...{loss on bad play my part}"
The needles were not blue: Read painter's servant: only cards outside the game get the chosen color.
Oracle text: All cards that aren't in play, spells, and permanents are the chosen color in addition to their other colors. All cards in play, and not in play (excluding sideboard) are also the chosen color.
