1  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Big tournaments in New York? on: October 20, 2006, 01:27:49 pm
In the western part of NY there is a great deal of 1.5. I made the change from 1 to 1.5 when I moved to ABQ. At first it is painful and sucks but its not so bad once you get used to actually having an attack step.

Yeah..1.5 is good too. It's probably stupid question, but where is ABQ? I'm from Europe so I don't now this shortcuts.Smile

I'll be running a mox tournament in Dec 2 2006. But NYC doesn't really have much Vintage at least.

It will be in NYC? Unfortunatly I'm from Buffalo. :-/ And I think there's absolutely no Vintage. I'm arrived here one week ago, but I didn't find anything.

Ok..thanks....And do you think that Elvish Spirit Guid is good acceleration for non power? One thing I don't like on this deck is his weakness with disenchant effect. If you don't have force you lost all your permanents. Also only one Tormod's Crypt can destroy your deck easily...

Hi there,

I hope I'm writing this to the right place. I want to ask you for a help with T1. I'm not a vintage player and I don't have just no experience with this format, but next weekend there will be a T1 tournament and I would like to participate in it. It will be a 5-proxy tournament. I can borrow from my friends a lot of cards for this format and I will have a lot time for testing. However I really don't know how most T1 decks work. Because here(in Czech Republic) the vintage format is not much popular I think that there won't be a lot of full p9 deck and I'm sure that there won't be decks using Workshops or Bazzars. My estimation of  field is a lot of goblins, fishes and creature deck, a few combos, burns and controls. What do you think is the best choice for this meta? I found two decks which looked for me very nice. One is Intuition Tendrils, but I don't know if this deck is the right choice when there will be many null rods. Also I don't know how to play this deck. Second one is Gifts Control(http://sales.starcitygames.com/deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=16683). I really love controls decks. But this one is strange for me:-). How does it kill? Only with a DS Colossus? And what I have to find with Gifts? Is it playable only with two Mana Drains? How to set up it when I'm estimating more creature decks? And mainly is it good choice? I will be really grateful for every help from you. And also sorry for my English:-( I am not native speaker...

thank you very much for advices.......

I looked on the U/W Fish deck, which win the Waterbury tournament....it is nice, but one thing surprised me - Icatian Javelineers...yes, I know, he is probably good vs. Goblin Welder and other fish, but I don't know if he is good choice for maindeck..... Question
8  Eternal Formats / Creative / What to play? on: May 02, 2005, 11:23:02 am
Ok, i'm new in type 1. I found a lot of decks on internet and I tested a few of them, but I don't know, which deck is the best  choice for my environment. There is a lot of Psychatog decks, Food Chain Goblins decks and Tendrils combo decks. There are not any workshop or artifact based deck, maybe one or two affinity decks(whithout workshops). I think about U/W or U/R Fish   or about Landstill, but I don't know. So, what do you think, which deck is the best choice???thanks a lot for all answers and helps.....

i'm from czech republic, so sorry for my English.....
