If you're playing in a non-power area, why not play chalice... I know this sounds odd, but isn't there a lot of random aggro in a non-power meta? I know there is in the non-power meta I play in. Chalice for one is what I would refer to as freaking awesome against red-beats (which could otherwise be a difficult match-up when you're monoU without balance, stp, shackles and so on)

I can see this deck getting a lot better with the inclusion of: Wild Mongrel Basking Rootwalla Hidden Gibbons Hidden Guerrillas Hidden Herd Elvish Spirit Guide in the maindeck. These are all the amazing. I'd also like to see Rogue Elephants.
Anti-Oath sideboard: Hidden Predator Hidden Ancients
Well thats about, what? 20 cards! You could include those cards, but you'd have to remove too many important lock/disruption-components. It seems to me like you want to play fast green aggro - that okay, but you should think about starting a very different place than the core of this deck. This deck is NOT meant to be fast aggro - it is a control deck with more creatures - and thus a bit faster clock - than many of the older control decks. (newer control decks has damned fast clocks in tinker->dsc). For any reference - here is my humble (and not very tested) list: Kill (8): 3 ravenous baloth 2 iwamaro of the open fist 3 eternal witness Disruption (15): 3 uba mask 4 chalice 4 sphere of resistance 4 root maze Draw (5): 3 sylvan library 2 abundance Mana-acc (10): 4 fyndhorn elves 4 llanowar elves/birds 1 mox emerald 1 mox pearl 1 sol ring Lands (21): 4 wasteland 1 strip mine 4 windswept heath 3 ancient tomb 7 forest 2 savannah The two savannah is for swords to plowshares in the board... Those should propably be mainboard, but I do not usually play against very powered decks... The "/birds" part is because I am thinking of putting sofai in my board, and then I believe birds is better because of the evasion... Uh, the lack of lotus = lack of money... I haven't been able to afford one yet. The deck is very funny to play, and in the little bit of testing I have done, it is actually quite good (no, of course it is no tier1, but still). - meanee

A small note on this whole mental note or not thing. I have in my build 3 open slots for draw/cantrips/counter or other disruption. Right now I am playtesting with 3 predict in the spot. It is godly with brainstorm - if your opponent plays a mystical tutor or another "put card on top" tutor it is much fun. BUT - and this is a big BUT - it costs 2 mana! That is a lot (like in the double of mental note). I just wanted to reveal my exclusive tech with you and then learn if anyone else have ever tried out predict? - meanee

Well actually we aren't supposed to discuss his built - EXCEPT for his unconventional include of 4 chalice. IF we were to discuss his built, the thread would be closed and some nice mod would say:"Look in some of all the other god-damn RG-Beatz threats..."
Uh, and by the way, I don't think the deck would last more than a round in a powered tournament.

You REALLY need MB artifact destruction! Other than that, I think there are several other flaws in your build if I may be so frank. Anyway - according to my way of playing (and building) RG-Beatz your decklist seems pretty weak. First of all, you do not have enough good mb hate (chalice simply doesn't work in this deck if you ask me). If you want to play efficient mb hate, play cards like, pyrostatic pillar, root maze (which you are playing - good), reb, and not least artifact mutation. In all my testing of RG-Beatz I am almost certain to lose against powered decks, if I do not draw on my control-side... Your control-side (as in side of the deck, not as in sideboard) i 4 chalices and 4 root maze - which I think is simply not enough.
In my (semi-powered = 2 moxen) RG-Beatz deck, I play this hatebase mb: 3 artifact mutation 4 price of progress 4 root maze And the some burn (4 bolt, 3 mancers) SB: 3 naturalize 3 ice floe (opposing 11/11 indestructible is a shitload to deal with) 3 pyrostatic pillar 3 naturalize
That much hate... I guess it is all about how much "control" you want to be playing, and how much "aggro" you want to be playing. (Uh, but if you want to play aggro, play another deck - this deck is not viable as a semi-pure aggro deck!)
Anyway. I would NEVER consider playing CotV in my deck - firstly because i use moxens to stand a chance, and secondly because it is not strong enough in this deck. The reason why some other budgetdecks plays it, is that they can play a chalice with 1 counter, and thereby stop many tier1 decks (and many many ugly budgetdecks)...
My couple of cents.

Boy your headlines are confusing... Under mana, you don't have lotus nor sol ring. UNder creatures you lack juggernaut and goblin welder? But anyway, i think you should add a memory jar and a DSC... Maybe an island. Is 15 lands enough?

The reason why I made it "sacrifice" instead of "additional cost" was that with the additional cost it made it weldable... If it was only: "Sac one land" that would be too powerfull wouldn't it? I know that these are not the very best cards in the world, but hey, every card can't be broken...
The blue one could, however, just say: "As an additional cost to play [this] sacrifice an island. T: Add U to you mana pool"
Then it would indeed be worth it, and it is then too broken imo.

I have been creating a bit of cards a while back, and doing that I came up with an idea to new moxes. I goes a little something like this:
Something Mox CC: 0 Artifact - rare When [this] comes into play, sacrifice 2 mountains/swamps/forests/islands/plains you control, or sacrifice [this]
T: Add r/b/g/u/w to your mana pool
Of course there need to be 5 different - thats why I made all the /'s, but are they too powerful? I know that some of them - if not all - are unplayable in vintage.
Let me hear your thoughts on this.

Thats what I get for not looking it up . Yes I have one of the other ones that become a 4/4 when they play something else.
But in both cases I would rather use River Boa or one of the other mainstream green creatures.
Maybe you're thinking of hidden gibbons. :4/4 when opponent plays instant... This is sometimes (actually in many match-ups) better than river boa. - meanee

if it said "Whenever an artifact is played [this] gets a +1/+1 counter" then it would be good in some decks, but as it is now, i don't think you would be able to find a deck in which it would fit, not to mention a deck in which it would be good. First of all: It's a green creature... We don't see many of them being played. Second: As Gabethebabe said, you have to drop it turn one, maybe two, to make it have any imppact on the game, and still you have to rely on your opponent playing a couple of artifacts before it was a good choice... Id' rather just make sure he doesn't cast ANY artifacts, make sure he can't use 'em (null rood, root maze) or simply destroy them if they suddenly lies on the board looking fiercely in your direction...

I've tested jitte, and honestly; it is way too slow... I play an unpowered version of the deck (no mox/lotus, but 4 esg and a lone lotus petal instead), and maybe that is the reason why jitte has proven itself to be worthless for me. Of course it depends on the rest of your list, but i prefer to play null rod and root maze over jitte - and I think it is impossible to play them all together - also jitte/maze. The maze sets you back - no doubt, and then - I think - the jitte is even worse.
By the way, the hidden gibbons is great in a LOT of matchups - I play 2 mb and I am thinking about getting another couple to my sb, but I don't think I will...

2. In what situations can you destroy an artifact and an enchantment ? A very rare situation.
I remember having seen an oath AND a mox on the other side of the table... But you are right on the instantpoint... Is 4 rancor necessary? I have recently cut it down to three, and I actually seldom enjoy to pull one off the top of lib... I think I would rather play something like incinerate, chain, or more price of progress, or even mb some of my sb stuff, instead of the last three rancors... Do you think it is a dead necessity? - meanee

Indeed there is no need of playing the elephants... About the hull breach: Actually it looks kind of awesome... it is almost a posible mbcard because it is both artiact destruction and enchantmentdestruction in one... Hmmm I'm getting a couple.

It seems to me you don't understand the true power of jitte.
You could very weel be right about that... I havn't tested this deck, but my testing with jitte hasn't proven it so powerful (but i play in a low-power environment, and own only a sapphire myself...) Still I like sword a lot, and I don't think I would play less than 3... - meanee

This is not a creature heavy format, and jitte takes care of A LOT.
How can vintage not be a creature heavy format? Of course there are different metas, but even the tier one decks all kill with creatures (exept of coure for som gifts decks, and the sad couple of tps that is still out there). The most recent kill-condition in todays vintage environment is a little sweety called "Tinker -> Colossus" I would like to see you kill a colossus with a jitte! Swords kill colossus! And therefore it is worth to play - AT LEAST as a 3-of. Swords also wrecks dragon, oath and som artifactbuilds... Cards worth swording: dragon, angel, colossus, mongrel, meddling mages (this can also easily be jitted to death), juggernauts and so on. All in all I think it is quite difficult - and even wrong - to claim that vintage is not a creature heavy format - right now, it is VERY creature heavy... - meanee

just an idea for the draw engine...skullclamp?
As Negator states this issue has been taken up before, but it is not a good idea to put skullclamp in your rg beatz simply because you need your creatures to beat the skull of your opponent. You could of course use them to equip lets say kird apes, end then wait until Kird Ape dies, but that is ineffective and it takes a lot of place and mana and time. - meanee

Congrats on your success. I just write to tell you that Jacob is in Denmark...
And another thing: If I would like to build this deck "the budget way" (no power 9 except for the sapphire...) is there enough artifacts to run the tinker/colos thingy?
- meanee
[Edit] A last question - directly to thokash: Didn't you ever draw dead vials? I know you can discard them to mongrell, but still? Wouldn't a third jitte in the fourth vial's place be an idea?[/Edit]

Well green and red are certainly not known to have cool/good carddrawers - a pity indeed, but also a certain fact. The good thing is though, that I really don't think it is strongly necessary to draw extra cards with this deck. It is not the purpose, and in my testing with the deck (a bit different from the ones you run) I haven't often found myself in need of extra cards - it is pure beatdown baby!
One could try out the sylvan library, but that card kind of stinks a lot. There is also the browbeat, but that is also way out of reach for this deck - it is simply too costly, and too ineffective.

Well First and foremost the wording is terrible. It should be something like: PLayers can play nonland cards any time they could play an instant. Or something... Anyway the second line won't make any sence after the first line has taken effect. If you kan play your spells as instants, then you can also play them during the combat fase. Third: It is overpowered... An enchantment that only costs to play and has this great effect on the game is way too broken... It should cost at least 1 or maybe more realistically 2 . Oh and by the way. Try to compare your card to Vedalken Orrery. - meanee
