1  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Ongoing Waterbury Results on: January 30, 2006, 03:20:42 am
from out here on the west coast, i really appreciate ur tourney updates brassman, thnx!

josh strong play w/GaT, question for u... when u mention that ur choice was because it "beats up on most drain decks" were u expecting to see more CS, than the amount gifts deck running around?

oh btw, clown of tresserhorn.... u called it u/w lions t8. there was something just..embarrassing 'bout getting my faced punched in by lions in berkely, lol!  -tony.
2  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Anyone running 3 copies of Gifts? on: December 15, 2005, 04:34:04 pm
i personally run 3 gifts, 2 merchant scroll, 2x tfk. this particular amount allows me to run 2 md needles and 3 duress. for the most part i rarely get into counter wars trying to resolve a gifts, unless its for the win.
3  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: need help with my gifts sideboard, and meta gaming my main deck on: December 15, 2005, 04:07:03 pm
i was running a gift build w/the thirst (since i run 2x md needles) but i ended up dropping 2 of them and the lone cunning wish for 3x duress. dropping the cunning allowed me to shore up the sb rather than have it be a huge tool box of wish targets. here's my current sb.

1x boseiju - i know some md it, but i hate seeing it early, esp vs stax
1x needle - jst too good, naming bazaa, welder, waste/strip, shaman, karn
1x darkblast - welder, xantid, shaman, hate
1x chainer's edict - post sb oath match up esp. when the bring in the untargetable creatures i cant bounce
1x tendrils
1x pyroclasm - fish will truely never die, lol.
1x mana severance
1x sacred ground - wasteland/stax hate, i md 1x tundra
1x balance
1x rebuild
2x rack/ruin
1x pyroblast
2x reb

hope this helps... -tony

i feel ur pain, i recently moved form the bay area to sacramento (california) and its rough finding consistent competitive t1. id love to head out to seattle this weekend but im working, guess my options are wait for the eudamonia power events or run my own tourney!

i have to agree, the article was a nice read. we are currently looking to put together a norcal local power tourney. i swear the vintage scene on the east coast is amazing, infact inspiring enough for us to put something together on the west coast.
