As someone who played magic as a tween during the 93/94 era, but sold their paper collection years ago to buy a car and pay for a semester of college and who now only plays mtgo due to time restraints, but has a fairly extensive and growing mtgo collection, I'd be interested in playing some casual old school online.

I know we don't have the dexterity cards (although wotc could fix chaos orb easily with errata to 1 card, plus rng) but are there any other important cards we are missing?

I think it is becoming clearer and clearer that JVP//TU is superior to Delver and thus pushing Mentor to be one of the strongest decks, if not the strongest deck in the format. I like your style of playing as little moxen as possible, since they limit the number of awkward openers that don't do anything. I do wonder though, why no thoughts on Sensei's Divining Top? Since you play as a control deck in the early part of the game the top helps you just hit your land drops, while once Mentor is on board, it just acts as a damage machine.

I've been splitting it as a 1 of with snapcaster in a jeskai delver list. They are similar effects, but definitely different. Jace is better when going on offense, Snaps is better when you are behind. The most disgusting thing i've done is Time walk twice with a delver attacking for 9 damage.

Why not just player run tournaments on Cockatrice though?  Its essentially the same thing (in terms of the amount of effort that you have to put in as an organizer), costs $0 for people's decks, you don't have to be paid in MODO currency, and most of all you can actually play real Vintage without needing to attach yourself to the terrible interface that prevents the World Championship deck from being played.

Hi Everybody!

My name is Ashley and I started playing magic with an exbf way back during Revised. I quit at the end of combo winter because I left for college and broke up with my bf who played. I fell in love whit doing broken game swingy things early on. I got back into the game around RtR when some coworkers were playing it at lunch. I briefly played paper magic before deciding that I'd have much more fun with MTGO and it would fit my schedule. I was super excited when the P9 were released and bought into as many competitive vintage/legacy decks as I could afford (gotta catch em all!) and have been jamming matches in the TP room as much as possible, I've sort of developed a little bit of a love affair with aggro shops because it reminds me of the wildfire/MUD deck I played at the very end of my first magic career, but I do switch it up and you can just as easily catch me trying and failing at putting together a sweet doomsday pile, or mulliganing to a  bazaar. 

Right now I've been given the interesting opportunity of being on work disability for 3 months so I'm going to have plenty of time to jam games on mtgo and am totally looking for friends who want to practice/test/socialize with on mtgo. My mtgo SN is the same as my name here so please feel free to add me there and say hi!

Outside of magic I'm into Action RPG video games, craft beer, and wedding planning (getting hitched in 4 months!)
