Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / [SOI]Burn from Within

Burn from Within XR Sorcery Burn from Within deals X damage to target creature or player. If a creature is dealt damage this way, it loses indestructible until end of turn. If that creature would die this turn, exile it instead. Not sure if this is relevant on sorcery speed, but maybe it have potential?

Hi Adam, still waiting for your Power9 Challenge videos I noticed that you switched to "Vengeful Dredge" (this time without Chalice) recently. It is refreshing change, but I am still not sure about it as it seems more vulnerable to one shoot GY hate and mirror if you don't have Leyline in opener. What are your observations so far?

Congrats AJ, I saw you are performing well. Last night I played traditional list, but ended only as 24th with 4-3. Lost to the Shops x2 (last one due to skipping attack phase with multiple F2) and Mentor. Won over Belcher, Pyro, Shops and Oath. I was prepared for DPS packing Unmask maindeck but instead I faced bunch of Shops.

Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Player-Run Vintage League: January Top 8

Guys, I am sorry to say that I will not be able to participate in Top4. Company is sending me on 2 week biz trip with Company laptop and I am unable to play MTGO on it due to security reasons. I want to thank Shawn on his effort organizing this league and to all players participating in it. I had a blast playing every match. I will try to write article during my absence about my attempt to introduce Vintage to local community and starting local Eternal League inspired by Shawn running this event. Thx and sorry for inconvenience.

I didn't received feedback from WoTC yet about issue. However I managed to go 4-3 and at least to cash finishing within Top32. I played Pitch Dredge with transnational sideboard and not having ability to make proper siding really made tournament miserable for me. Even with this drawback I had a chance to go 5-2 but I missed my opportunity to Mental Misstep Mystical Tutor into Tinker.

Well this is really annoying. I am not able to sideboard at all, client is showing 5 same cards in my deck and I cannot submit it after side boarding. No matter what change I make I am able to play just with main deck. I submitted reimbursement ticket but this is not relay about 250 Play Points. I am so frustrated now.

Just for curiosity, how many of you are from Northeastern U.S? Maybe 100%?
For the rest of readers: is any european here interested in playing an european TMD league?
Actually there is MTGO Player-Run Vintage League organized by desolutionist. I am from Europe and even I found it difficult to align with other time zones I don't see reason for "Europe specific league" unless you can gather great number of players to play at such event. In that case I am interested.

4-0 in first daily on Friday with Adams list except I added Dragonlord Kolaghan instead of 1 Golgari Thug maindeck. It really puts opponent on fast clock and gives you edge in some matchups. It can be pitched for Ichorid as well.

I showed up with following list :
4 Bazaar of Baghdad 4 Serum Powder 1 Dakmor Salvage 1 Riftstone Portal 2 Mana Confluence 2 Petrified Field 4 Undiscovered Paradise 4 Golgari Grave-Troll 4 Stinkweed Imp 3 Golgari Thug 4 Bridge from Below 2 Dread Return 1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite 1 Flame-Kin Zealot 4 Bloodghast 4 Ichorid 4 Narcomoeba 4 Leyline of the Void 4 Cabal Therapy 3 Unmask
SB 2 Contagion SB 4 Ingot Chewer SB 4 Nature's Claim SB 3 Wispmare SB 2 Serenity
I decided to go with MD Unmask, and I was short on 2 more Serenity in SB. After 2-0 start, Belcher wrecked me game 3. I lost another one to Pyromencer after series of mulligans and some questionable side boarding. My baby was waking up all the time since it is flue season here and I was distracted, so I finished with 3-4 and failed to be in T32 as on previous two challenges. I really enjoyed game vs tribet as his deck is not something usually found on mtgo. Got wrecked in mirror vs Randy Buehler playing his VSL list. Looking forward to next Power9 challenge.
