I love Meloku in this deck. It wins so many games on its own. In this type of deck is really feels like it combos with itself. So funny to think of all the standard games where I road this guy to victory. I think cutting him is a big mistake. Adding in Burning Wish and Recoup seems very random. This isn't the old Gifts deck. With the inclusion of Burning Wish you need a completely different sideboard and your mana base may even need to be rethought. The current sideboard has only one BW target, Pyroclasm. I'm sure Tendrils would be in your board, but I think you're really limiting your sideboard plans by making this change. Recoup seems very mana intensive and lacks enough raw power to be included in this build. You cast recoup, your opponent allows it, then counters your spell that is now RFG. It just doesn't seem worth it in this particular build.

Anyone else unhappy with the 1 maindeck Fire/Ice. It seems like I always pitch it to Force without much consideration. In many matches it's nearly useless. I'm toying with changing it to a Chain of Vapor or Thoughtseize. I am also considering cutting the Misdirection for the 5th duress, but I think I'd rather keep MisD and axe the Fire/Ice. Chain of Vapor seems really strong in a Lorwyn meta that is predicted to be really Stax heavy. If I cut the Fire/Ice I think I will put it in the board in favor of the 2nd Trickbind. There are more and more creatures being played in the Midwest, so games 2 and 3 I like the extra creature kill. Game 1 against combo and control I'd just really rather have something more proactive. Discuss.

Final bump.

Looking forward to this event. Expecting a decent turn out. Come join us at CoD, the location for SCG Chicago the following weekend. This is the tournament for testing before SCG next weekend. We've been asked to keep decklists from going up until after SCG. We'll gladly honor this request and simply post the names of those in top 8, and ofcourse recognize our winner. Decks will go up Saturday after SCG P9 event has started.

Any final questions about the event please let me know.

Jeff,

Thanks for the post! Hope you're able to make it. It is definitely shaping up to be quite the party at the house. Still waiting on a head count but seems a lot of people are driving in and crashing for one or both weekends. Plenty of room here so you'll have a bed should you make it. Dave is definitely driving from Indy. Should work out well for those wanting to test and fine tune decks. My wife is obviously thrilled LOL. Anyway, tourney is this Sunday. Eating contest is still on but possibly switching to White Castle instead of KFC per Kraks request. Entry will be $10 with an English Mana Drain going to first.Adem still willing to take bets from anyone wanting to bet against Kraks.

We always try our best to avoid conflicting events; this was seriously overlooked. Unfortunately I believe I am past the point of cancellation so we will have to go ahead with the event. We apologize to the guys in Carbondale. Definitely sorry to hear you guys are unable to make it. We'll be posting our type1 schedule very soon with plans to run an event once a month, the first weekend of the month, every month.
