If you 100% don't care about format legality, Tendrils seems like a better approach.  Assuming no power you basically want to go off Long style, with something like the following setup:

12 Lands
4 Lotus Petal
4 Dark Ritual
4 Cabal Ritual
4 Demonic Tutor
3 Contract from Beyond
3 Wheel of Fortune
3 Tendrils of Agony
4 Burning Wish
4 Lion's Eye Diamond
3 Yawgmoth's Will (optionally Ill-Gotten Gains)
4 Yawgmoth's Bargain
4 Seething Song
4 Infernal Tutor

Sideboard:
1 Wheel of Fortune
1 Tendrils of Agony
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Contract from Beyond

Any suggestions?

You know that may very well be the coolest thing I've ever seen. -Goes about building said deck-

Not even gonna attempt to make this legal in any format. This is my deck for kicking ass real quick when I don't want to play certain people

Creatures
2 Minion of the Wastes

Instants
4 Entomb
4 Dark Ritual
4 Reckless Charge
3 Fling

Sorceries
3 Exhume
3 Reanimate
1 Demonic Tutor

Artifacts
4 Lotus Petal
2 Chrome Mox

Land
7 Swamp
3 Mountain

2 Situations for the deck.
1. Get the Minion into play with Dark Ritual, Entomb, Exhume pay 19 life and then play a reckless charge making it a 22/19 for the win.
2. Reanimate the Minion, lose 6 life and pay 10. Attack turn 2 and then fling it.

This deck isn't meant to really have answers to bounce spells or anything. It either works or it doesn't but it's still fun.

4  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / Black Magus of the Mirror Deck on: November 19, 2006, 10:12:43 pm
Creatures
3 Magus of the Mirror
3 Carnophage
3 Dauthi Marauder

Instants
4 Sudden Spoiling
4 Dark Ritual
2 Hatred
2 Devour in Shadow

Sorceries
1 Demonic Tutor
3 Doomsday

Enchantments
3 Phyrexian Arena
4 Necropotence

Land
19 Swamp
2 Cabal Coffers

Basically use cards like Necropotence, Phyrexian Arena, and Doomsday to get what you need and lose life at the same time.

Carnophage, Sudden Spoiling, and Devour in Shadow are for defensive purposes while you get the right cards.

Once your life is pretty much gone play and sacrifice a Magus of the Mirror to exchange life with your opponent. Then use a Dauthi Marauder with Hatred to pump it up and go for the kill since it isn't very likey you'll be playing Shadow.

Tell me what you think and how I can improve this deck. Thanks.

Alright, well I live in the US so that's good that I can use proxies in most tournaments. Thanks.

I love the Control Slaver deck, but I don't have thousands of dollars at my disposal to get any of the Power 9 cards. Is it still possible to play competatively without them in a Type 1 Environment? Do some Type 1 Tournaments allow use of proxies to even things out for players without them?
