Xantid Swarm also clearly announces your opponent's situation. Its either "I dont have a counter!" or "I have just used a counter!" Both of which serves your purpose.
If your opponent is playing Duress, Swarms are immune to it too.

First, I really donno where Xantid comes useful to this discussion. Anyway... your opponent's situation is not that clear when you play Xantid. Your opponent might be playing Stifles or Swords to Plowshares or even don't want to counter your Xantid because he thinks you're trying to hide a bomb.

Oh and, Swarms are immune to duress, the spells you play to win are not.

what's the point of casting a bomb to initiate a counter war, then pitching another bomb to attempt to win said counter war?  why pitch a spell at all?  why not just throw bombs at walls til something gets through?

Well the point is that you don't always have available mana to cast more than one bomb a turn. Running into a wall of drains isn't a particulary good play when the next thing you say is "next". It's just a tempo thing. Let your opponent with 2-4 fresh mana at their turn and you probably won't be in good position... If you think you can handle Mana Drains with duress+bomb, no problem. I don't know for you, but by playing Pitch Long, I never often had "too much" mana which I could've spend on duress instead of FoW.

The big idea here is that you can afford going off a turn earlier with backup several times as compared to duress builds.

Few persons still seem to think Duress Vs Pitch is a skill matter. Bad news, it's not. It's just playing with the Brokeness/Regularity balance. I believe Brokeness should be priviliged.

Street Wraith also works.

No it doesn't. Street Wraith simply sucked in my testings. Maibe people will have different opinions, but Pitch Long is already hard enough to play without adding a Wraith factor that simply looses more life to matchups like Ichorid.

The only point I could see Street Wraith kicking balls would be if you had no more good cards to add in your 60 cards deck. We are not short of those in Vintage.

Since your decklist seems to be more focused on Draw 7, i suggest you to run Simian Spirit Guides. As 2 ofs, their mox-like ability permits a lot of 1rst turn Draw 7 (which is insane btw). 11 Lands would be enough with those primates and 4th Cabal Ritual is probably worst than 2nd Spirit Guide so...

-1 Land
-1 Cabal Ritual

+2 Simian Spirit Guides

By doing these above changes, you get a more Grim Long approach with a high percentage of 1rst turn Draw 7.

Note : Not focusing on Draw7s (not playing SSG) would auto-exclude Windfall which's only good really early (or pitched to a Fow)...

Okay, first post for me too since I have a lot of free time. First of all, it seems like you try to be good against every single deck (which is impossible btw). Silver bullets are only nice when they hit their targets. Diabolic Edict, Hymn to Tourach and Energy Flux are auto-withdraw. You cannot afford so high costed, situationnal cards.

Second, why the hell wouldn't you play Time Walk? This card allows you to beat 2 times, draw 2 times when confidant is in play. This card allows you to untap and draw an other card. Time Walk is ultimate cantrip and just have to be there.

Try these changes :

-1 Diabolic Edict
-1 Hymn to Tourach
-1 Energy Flux

+1 Time Walk
+2 Repeal (Nice w/ Tog)

I did the best I could to improve your list and keep it on the track you chose. I also think this list belongs to Vintage Improvement because it is not really an established deck nor so Vintage revolutionary.
