I built a GRWB version of the deck and took it to regionals... i went 6-2 and came in 18th place out of like 180 people at columbus oh.  I think this deck has potential

I have been working on a swans deck for standard and im looking for some advice...

So far I am running RU I dont know if this is the best source of colors for the deck...but take a look and tell me what you think...any advice is greatly appreciated..

I havent worked out a sideboard yet but i know its going to have vexing shusher and turn to mist in it....dont know what else... like i said all ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated...

What are the tests to prove a fake? I am looking at buying power myself and do not want to get stuck with fakes... Ive heard about a bend test? How is it performed? What do you look for? Someone also mentioned a few other ways to tell. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Although the wording is a little wierd painter's servant actually makes EVERYTHING the chosen color... all cards in play (permanents) spells (either in your library or being played) and cards that are in the RFG zone (except sideboard) which makes Red elemental blast the best spell in the deck.

I ran goblins at SCG.... first thing here are some results

ROUND 1
Vs Flash 2-1(loss)
Game 1 - i had main deck llotv and got it on the draw w/o muligan... then 2nd turn resolved earwig squad...he scooped
Game 2 - he turn 2 killed me...
game 3 - i had to muligan down to 5; i went on 2 llotv, 1 badlands, ssg, goblin sharpshooter... droped 2 llotv and didnt draw another land for 6 turns....

vs mono-black sui (2-0 win)
Not really much to say... he was playing a LD/discard deck... it never really did anything against me

Game 1 - He turn 2 milled me.... i sb in pithing needles, shattering spree, reb
game 2 - Turn 1 i play pithing needle naming grindstone, turn 2 i play pithing needle naming grindstone again, turn 3 i play shattering pulse replicated twice... he fow 2 and losses a mox because i was 2 stupid to put all 3 targets on the painters.... turn 3 his turn...reb destroying my pithing needle, reb destroying my other pithing needle and wins...{loss on bad play my part}

Game 1 he played turn 1 dryad, and just kept pumping her up and kept me at low enough creatures till he stormed out with empty the warrens
Game 2 i resolved 2 sharpshooters, and over ran him
game 3 i resolved earwig squad early and the turn he went to storm out he tapped his only source of green mana to play yawgmoth's will, then was unable to bring fastbond in...loss because he played it wrong...

Painters servant (2-0 loss)
Pretty much same as the game before...not much i could do sideboard or before.... i never resolved earwig...and i didnt have the power to kill a 1/3...

RG kobold clamp(2-0 Win)
Not much to say 2 sharpshooters early kinda kept him off anything, game 2 i resolved 1st turn pithing needle naming aether vial.... he didnt do much after that

TPS (2-1 Win)
Game 1 - Pretty much perfect hand...i droped warchieft, lackey turn 1 then droped ringleader from the lackey; turn 2 earwig squad...GG
game 2 - he stormed out like turn 1 or 2
game 3 - i won from double earwig resolving....(he wasted his counters stopping pillar from coming into play)

Came in 23rd out of like 100....

Notes on the deck....
* Goblin piledriver is not worth it in this deck...the meta is heavy control... and we don't have enough goblins in the deck to really make him worth it because he gets chump blocked.
* Main deck llotv was pretty useless.... Would have been 10 times better if it was main deck Red elemental blast
* Earwig squad is still god...
* vexing shusher is a most in the meta....(i played him day 2 and his results were way better than piledriver
* splash green for tin-street holligan
* sideboard add 2 gaea's blessing....i actually main decked one because of the ammount of painter's servant decks up there
* when replicating shattering pulse...target all copies on the painter's servant...

I would still main deck 1 copy of primus because he can be fetched with the summoners pact, and he gets rid of other targets other than just leyline... tormad's crypt being one of them, tyrant being another...

Whats the best sideboard that people have started useing? I really like:
1 tinker
1 platinum angel
4 duress
4 stifle

and i have thought about possibly putting in tormad's crypts in the sideboard to help against graveyard decks or to sac to tinker

SO does anyone have a new and updated deck list? What is the optimal amount of lands? Is anyone useing Simian spirit guide?

Reasons for my choices that go against the other deck lists:
6 fetchlands because i need to be able to get black mana on turn 2, and i dont want to draw a land when i ringleader. I was at 8 fetch lands...but moved it down to 6 to add in some basic lands.
IM running simian spirit guide because it increases my chances to drop earwig on turn 2...and its helped accelerate me into a turn 1 warchief and goblin lackey
2 sharpshooters... i play against ichorid..both manaless and mana'd. if i cant get rid of his bridge from below that he got into his graveyard really early or whatever... the sharpshooters kill almost everything in his deck when i have 2 out... PLus 2 sharpshooters have a higher chance of killing a plat angel or whatever need be...
3 piledrivers... I know i should run 4... but i wanted to add another land to the deck to stop from having to muligan so many hands... I thought about adding sensation gorger in place of the extra land... im still testing it out.

Sideboard choices... I honestly dont know what the meta is going to be like... I know a lot of people would suggest getting rid of pithing needle but i really like it...I thought about useing null rod, but the pithing needle won in the end. Sudden shock is just there for testing i might replace it with extirpate... I havent decided yet.

How would the stack resolve with woodfall primus being flashed?

woodfall primus comes into pay ability goes on the stack
sac the primus to flash
then destroy leyline of the void

? its still a good idea because you can search the primus with summoner's pact

What about useing sudden shock in the sideboard? it kills carrion feeder, other goblins, early goyf or tog

I am really starting to like the vexing shusher over the REB... i know he costs 1 more mana to play but he can be used over and over again....

Why would you use smash to smitherins over shattering spree?

I do agree with you about the 3 pithing needles though i have noticed i get them too much if i run 4 of...I just really like being able to drop it turn 1...

So since everyone agrees that running leyline and sharpshooter together are the best combination...

I've honestly thought about running goblin vandal or goblin welder main deck.... Has anyone tried either of those? I mean i like tinker, but i think vandal would have be better imo. Welder would be both for use against your opponent and be able to bring back ur lotus.

Has anyone else tried the Simian spirit guide?

I replaced the maulers i put in 1 extra copy of sharpshooter, and im running simian spirit guide... i know  a lot of people dont like them...but i like being able to power out a turn 2 earwing more effectivly.

I have thought about adding the frogtossers to the deck... if i did it might replace the ssg.

Coyoteugly YOu have just proven my point about how RUDE and annoying you really are. My statement was that you have to have:

Black mana on turn 2. "you need turn 2 black mana mana" Never once did i say ANYTHING about double black.

But since you feel so inclined to put other people down to make yourself feel better. TRY building your own deck and get off someone elses coat tails. Either find a way to make constructive criticism. Or don't bother replying to the post.
 
You made a decent point regarding the pyrostatic pillar. I agreed with you. But you need to grow up and stop trying to put other people's ideas down, and either offer the reason yours is better in a decent way, or just leave that to the person who made your deck.

The reason there are 2 threads, is because there are 2 totally different deck ideas.

Thanks for pointing out that its combat dmg, i misread the card. I thought it said whenever a goblin deals damage.
The comment about both ichorid decks running bridge was from below was to point out that IMO running 2 sharpshooters is the prime #.
As for thorn of amethyst vs pyrostatic pillar I see your point on them taking just as much dmg if not more than we do.

IN the future you could find a more constructive way to point out things, instead of being completly rude about it. BUT if it makes you feel better to belittle people while trying to show them better card options for a deck. Be my guest.

How would it not trigger earwing squad? it says whenever a goblin deals dmg to an opponent...its a goblin.

I was agreeing with sharpshooter...i run 2 copies main deck.
Even mana'd ichorid runs bridge from below...so making a comment about which type of ichorid deck was irrelevant.

Almost every spell in this deck is under a 4cc cost so pillar is going to be dmging us every since spell.... it just doesn't seam worth it to me. But if you want to run it in yours and chiefs build, thats cool i was just trying to point out other options.

I run 2 copies of sharpshooter main deck because it gets rid of EVERYTHING...if i dont have a llotv in play it stop ichorid, it kills plat angel faster...it takes out almost any creature in the meta.

Has anyone thought about main decking Tarfire? its a goblin...it can be fetched or ringleadered.

Mana base... why run 6 mountains? why not add in 2 more fetch lands and 4 of the RB shock lands? you HAVE to have turn 2 black mana for earwing squad...

Pyrostatic Pillar .... why would you want to deal so much dmg to yourself? what are you going to stop that ? long? why not run thorn of amethyst instead? its more effective.
Pithing needle is a GREAT card for sideboard... its one of the most effective stops in the game.

IMO 2 sharpshooters is the effective # it kills more creatures... But then again i play against ichorid and platinum angel a lot.

Why no tarfire? its a goblin spell that you can search for or get with ringleader...

Has anyone thought about sideboarding THorn of amethyst instead of the pyrostatic pillar? I mean that spell kills us just as fast as our opponent...with goblins the thorn of amethyst isnt going to hit very many of our spells. while effectivly stopping manaless ichorid from being able to use its disruption or dredge return, and it slows tendrils down enough to be able to stop it from storming out consistantly.

Rushing river is too slow...
Main deck only having one answer to llotv seams weak to me... ive been testing it and I think you need to have @ least 2 bounce spells main deck.

I really like the tinker sideboard, or the oath sideboard. THe problem with the oath sideboard is that you dont have to crop rotations to help get the orchard in play....
As for bounce vs revrent silence... Revrent silence is mana free...bounce is not... But you can search for bounce with merchant scroll...which is still pretty slow....2 mana to search 1 mana to activate...

ATM my sideboard looks like this

BUT I'm currently working on it to tune it better.

Has anyone thought about using Sensation Gorger? or the new 2 mana goblin from shadowmoor that is uncounterable?

Have you thought about adding scion? to make your dudes untargetable? And the extra pump? Have you thought about Notorius throng? yeah its exspensive...but with mana crypt and moxen u could play it on turn 3 as an extra timewalk...

mistbind clique while expensive is another helpful card.

Sideboard I wouldn't run both leyline and tormad's but you could run tormads and extirpate...

what is the sliver kill resistant to that revilark isnt? besides extirpate?

What are a few deck lists looking like now? With the defensve sideboard, the oath sideboard, and the tinker? what are some main deck builds?

I have to ask...when would you EVER tinker in a sundering titan? when would that be a better choice than the angel? yes destroying their lands is nice..but then they drop a mox or lotus and go off without the land and you die because you didnt drop an angel?

If you are running RGB goblins why not run food chain?

I agree with the extirpate. I never thought about the fact that academy and revilark are both going to die to the same thing...brain fart...

Another question which is better leyline of the void or extirpate? llotv is free turn 0... extirpate helps out more in the mirror imo...
