1  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [report & discussion] ub- TPS top8 in a 40 people tourny on: August 02, 2004, 06:27:04 am
Wheel is one of the best cards in the deck. Im 4-1 lifetime vrs decks that run wasteland and could never see myself wanting to draw an island or swamp in place of a City that will give me both.

I made it to top 25 in a 150 man tourney, top 4 in a 53 man tourney and top 8 in a 25 man tourney all in the last 3 weekends! Pat me on the back and call me American baby!

My list is

I don't know what else to say about Tps other than that it's easy to make mistakes with and not as bad as many would think. I like the results I've gotten.  I'll probably keep playing it until I salvage a win.
4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Chains of Mephistopheles in FCG? on: July 19, 2004, 11:03:38 pm
After going 6-2 with my own Tps brew in Starcity's Power 9 tournament, beating Fcg twice, and a deck that boarded in Chans of Mephistopheles (report coming soon), discussion happened back at the hotel room where it dawned on me that perhaps Food Chain Goblins could find a way to make Chains work to its advantage.

I have played against Fcg with 4cc at least 7 times in tournament and twice with Tps. I have only lost to Fcg one time in tournament play. Everyone I have asked about my new idea seemed to give it some thought, and so far nobody has rejected my theory yet. I have never played Food Chain Goblins myself, but I feel I have a pretty decent understanding of the deck.

If Food Chain Goblins were to cut the Food Chain, and its green sources to play black for Duress and Chains of Mephistopheles (possibly even as s/b slots) it would probably have a much better matchup against Fish Tog Gat 4cc Draw7 Tps and maybe others. Downsides I could think of would be Workshop decks not careing too much and perhaps Belcher, the mirror. Discussion anyone?

5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Updating Draw7 6.15.04 on: June 15, 2004, 06:43:37 pm
When not spending time playtesting with some strange version of (Keeper) Best.dec, I hand over my time to combo testing, and find it an amusing getaway. Sometimes I wonder if it just has yet to proove itself as the best deck in the format.

I feel the deck is quite viable these days and way underplayed (at least in the Northeastern US).  Its problems seem more to be the dropping of a card that to combo seems like a lock (Null Rod, Meddling Mage,Sphere of Resistance, Platinum Angel for example..), As opposed to a draw7 being countered for endgame, which especially in your build does not seem like a problem to me (as you have so many).

I have only been doing this for a few weeks now, but in my testing I liked 4 Duress over 4 Swarm, Time Spiral over Windfall, and Glimmervoid over Gemstone Mine. My list runs much less mana than yours does but yours seems to try get to the draw 7 as quick as possible, where mine seems to let duress try to keep the game even so that when a draw 7 comes up I can get it in.

I'm tinkering with this (no pun intended)

1 Wheel of Fortune
1 Balance
1 Fastbond
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Necropotence
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain
2 Tendrils of Agony
4 Duress
4 Dark Ritual
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Timetwister
1 Tinker
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Mind's Desire
1 Time Spiral
2 Cunning Wish
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
1 Darksteel Colossus
1 Memory Jar
1 Lotus Petal
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
1 Lion's Eye Diamond
1 Sol Ring
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Emerald
1 Library of Alexandria
1 Tolrian Academy
3 Gemstone Mine
4 City of Brass
4 Glimmervoid

1 Skeletal Scrying
1 Oxidize
1 Naturalize
1 Disenchant
2 Swords to Plowshres
1 Red Elemental Blast
2 Gorilla Shaman
2 Rack and Ruin
1 Stifle
1 Rebuild
2 Blue Elemental Blast

Your list has much more experience than mine does, perhaps you can tell me why you like Mine over Void.  Do you combo out before one is usually used up and/or have enough mana anyways?  This is pobably a stupid one, but with so much acceleration have you considered an Upheaval  Embarassed  ?How about Cunning Wish or Rebuild to stop the cards that say you scoop?  Are you comboing out more often than not before those things happen? Also, any comments on ways to better my list are appreciated.

Good Job Jason.  Well played. You almost had me.  Those matches were tense and a blast.  To make the story even more crazy, I threw away first turn humility when he bought everyone sodas(drawing the lotus as card number eight when I gave it a peek).

Also, I will never play Mystical.

7  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Report] Hadley Mass 4/17 NM Emerald Keeper goes undefeated on: April 19, 2004, 10:42:51 pm
Thanks to all for the congrats.

To shed some light on a few questions. The one ofs were great for me.  My least favorite is deed, and that should have some explanation in itself. I've had first turn deed happen in recent testing, but I consider it a 4th turn card at best for feeling that I should be able to cast it by then, and that's if it comes up. With two in, I expect to see at least one per game. It's perhaps even necessary to keep the decks weaker matchups still within its grasp.  Misd was a metagame choice I made the night before in place of the 4th main plow. Im very happy I played the Misd that day.  Humility has been really solid for me and seems to win me the game half of the time.  With the major amount of draw, I think many would be surprised how often it turns up before its too late. With 8 artifacts, the thirsts have also been great.  Since Saturday I've even considered bumping it back up to 3 for the next Tournament. Still unsure. The Scepter has won me games. As embarrassing as this is for me to admit, the scepter was originally a Mana Crypt when I played this thing in CT for the Northeast Championships tourney. I was playing an extra plow, 3rd Stifle, 3rd thirst, 2nd Fire/Ice,  no Ak's, and no deeds. The wastes were in the sideboard.  I did very well there.  Myself and HulkR3les sat at table number 1 after 3 actual rounds.  I was undefeated in games and matches including that round that slipped out the window. I had him down to 3 before our one gamer came to a broken berserking end.  Neither of us got to the Top 8.

Metagameing is important with Keeper. However, I would not say every game with the exact deck I played in Hadley is an autoloss to anything not combo. I think I misjudged the meta slightly that day but it was ok because the board made up for it. Its more complicated than that but also not. Had I known I would not see any Hulk that day the Aks might have been something else. Hulk not being there was a fluke to me. Frankly I'm sick of loseing to Hulk, so I think its a good idea for me to leave Ak and Standstill in. If it means my likely death game one to Landstill to not lose to Hulk all the time, than I'll just get them next game. The theory, I should be able to hold them off until I get my broken stuff going. And finally about the comment of plow being not so hot vrs Landstill.  I personally would board in the 4th. Also the Disenchants, Rebs, and Wastes would come in. Standstill and Stifle (if there is no white ,I'm not sensing Decree, and I can replace it with removal) would probably come out. Stifle is nice to have when Wastelands tap, but I like removal better than something I could hold onto for awhile that may not be useful for 5 or 6 turns. Landstill Drops alot of creatures so removal is very nice and always useful vrs them. I see Waste as a removal tool now, not something to wreck the opponents manabase with. I wouldn't be afraid to pull the AKs for some removal either. I think removal is gold vrs Landstill.  Plow is a sinkhole for 1 white that keeps you alive. The Landstill focus is to kill you with creatures.  I think the more removal you have for these decks(at least when playing this one) the better off you will be and I think draw isn't as good as removal against them. I see it as they are trying to kill me and I'm trying to survive. If the deck is packed with enough removal, the one or two cards I draw per turn can stop them from doing exactly what they're trying to do, unless they cut me off hard. Think of it like this I have twice as much removal to throw at manlands than they have manlands after Game 1. The Ratio turns out to be for every manland they draw I draw 2 answers. Do they want to Stifle my Wasteland or Force my Plow? Probably not.  Game 1 is tough. Game 2 is alot easier to stay alive in. The Major threat to Keeper like decks I run has always seemed to be either brokenness (Keeper or Hulk), artifacts (ones like Mask and Null Rod), or enchantments(Blood Moon, B2B, plenty more) and not so much creatures(however oftentimes their engines). Thanks again to everyone.  Adam man,  I hope you are coming back to NE soon. Just isn't the same without you stomping face in the meta.
8  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Report] Hadley Mass 4/17 NM Emerald Keeper goes undefeated on: April 19, 2004, 05:43:43 am
Yesterday I made the trip up to Hadley Massachusetts for the Mox Emerald tournament.

I originally hadn't planned to post a report. However, with the feeling in the air that the open forums could be coming to an end due to lack of quality, myself having 2 weeks left to post on here due to the AOL bannings, and possible insight that could come from this report I decided to give it another shot.

Metasmash Keeper.dec (5 quelor (quality) control)  also known as Thirsty Keeper (TKO)

This deck is not a "fun deck", despite the large amount of seemingly fun decks that appeared in the meta yesterday. It is a metagamed version of Keeper which is subject to weekly change, and is my serious approach to winning games of Magic.  It is fun to play and was designed to be able to beat Hulksmash, while still being able to hold down its strengths in the areas of removal for the rest of the metagame. Unfortunately, I saw no Hulk yesterday.

Up until recently I had played Keeper alot differently, but usually made week to week metagame changes.  Then I went with alot of strange cards like Humility and Standstill. The theory being it already had Decree, why not maindeck the enchantment that makes them all 1/1s and hates basically the entire meta. What the deck once was had to take a bad hit to Landstill and Fish by moving the 4 wastes to the board and replacing them with some draw.  Humility is usually not too hot against Landstill and Fish anyway. Wasteland was no longer necessary vrs dragon because a Humility drop most often times will seal a game vrs Dragon.  This also opened up a new window for me, which was the ability to run green.  And finally with that came the best board sweeper in the game, Pernicious Deed.

I find when playing this deck often times a game will be won due to an extreme amount of cards coming in post board sometimes even as many as 10 plus. Yesterday I think it happened twice.  However, after S/B I believe the deck can become antithetical to 99% of the strong part of the meta.  It can match up card for card to pretty much every deck after that first game. That means zero dead cards after game 1.  This is big because Keeper can run all the broken cards.

Which brings up Hulk.  Hulk can be a tough matchup because Hulk goes broken too.  A few weeks ago before I made this deck, I was testing out Hulk and Gro to see if I wanted to give up Keeper and go to the Darkside.  Smile  Testing out other decks isn't something I usually do, but I did and noticed Hulk doesn't win as much on a percentage basis (in my experiences with it) vrs the rest of the meta.  Its lack of removal is probably the reason for this.  This deck doesn't struggle nearly as much as Hulk does vrs Eba Slaver Gro Prison ect..  So I wonder why awhile back I heard some folks saying Hulk is more well rounded.  Sorry people, you know who you are, and I think you're crazy. It's my opinion that Hulk is more topheavy and Keeper is more well rounded.  That's the way I see the decks design comparisons.  Keeper is designed to be more well rounded to the meta, and Tog is desigend to do its own thing and combo out quickly.  They are both very strong. Personally I moreso fear a Keeper Version that runs antithetical to mine more than I do a Tog matchup, not to say that there aren't matches I don't fear and that Tog isn't one of them. Or that Tog or any deck for that matter isn't everytime a potential loss no matter what deck you're running. With that all being said, here is the list I played in Hadley...

 1 Yawgmoth's Will
 1 Demonic Tutor
 2 Humility
 2 Decree of Justice
 3 Swords to Plowshares
 1 Ancestral Recall

                                                                   1 Pyroblast
                                                                   2 Red Elemental Blast
                                                                   4 Wasteland

*** Round 1 vrs Dan R (Pernicious Dude) with U/R Fish***
 Game 1

I choose to play and drop Sea, Sapphire, Sol Ring, Scepter imprinting Brainstorm. I thought about putting a Plow on it, but it doesnt matter when null rod hits on turn 3 and little dudes beat me to death.

 Game 2

I waive my right to draw first, and drop a scepter with AK on the second turn.  I get to another AK after I use the one I was still holding, and Disenchant the Null Rod for the scoop.

 Game 3

We played a little while wasting each others lands away and me killing the creatures he dropped.  I see the first Standstill of the day when time gets called.  On eot I Ancestral,  and he does one thats free, then he casts one that costs 1 blue and I Misdirect it.  He Forces, I Drain,  and I draw 6 cards then Brainstorm, Untap, draw another card, make 5  4/4s  set the dice to 2        1-0-0

***Round 2 vrs Loren H with Ninja Mask***

 Game 1

Too much artifact and enchantment business going on for me to hold off  *note to self* play Rack and Ruin.

 Game 2

I Yawg Will early with walk in the yard.  On my 2nd extra turn I cast Humility and shockingly enough he has a Force of Will up his sleeve.  I manage to recover by using the removal on his survivals and making Standstill and deed worth their weight. I find the other Humility and beat down with an outfit of 1/1 guys.

 Game 3

I do something only I'm stupid enough to do and make 1 less angel than  I should have when time gets called.  His 16 looked like a 19.
** note to self**  you suck self,  sleep is a good thing,   keep track of opponents life totals,  try to forgive thy self     1-0-1

*** Round 3 Vrs Kowal with Broodstar Runner***

  Game 1

He gets double welder slaver lockdown on turn 2.  He looks at Scepter Fire Ice Drain Land Ak, my que to scoop.

 Game 2

I keep welders off the board and Humility does the trick.

 Game 3

See game 2.  Stifle happened win this game.        2-0-1

***Round 4 vrs Ray (Iamfishman) with Stasis***

*Ray always kicks my ass.  I tell him that I am wearing the very shades worn by Adam Bowers when he won Hadley with Oshawa Stompy and will do everything in my power to stop a 3peat from happening*

 Game 1

Ray kicks my ass as usual using all frustrating blue spells, half which I was not familar with.

 Game 2

He forces the B2B issue early, but I survive with a few Moxes and scepter imprinting Pyroblast. He later tells me he could've stopped the scepter, but knowing that Ray could have and didnt kick my ass that game is slightly better than loseing I guess Confused .

 Game 3

We run out of time before either of us can find a win condition. I feel I was closer to it than he was so I guess it negates my feelings about hoplessness and game 2  Smile       2-0-2

***Round 5 vrs someone playing Foodchain "Combo" goblins**

 Game 1

He gets me down to 2 before Humility shuts off his hopes.  He tries to cast 4 in a row after that, but I wish for Fire/Ice and use the plowstick I have on the table and the one in my hand to keep them at bay before cycling soldiers.

 Game 2

He gets nothing in the first 2 turns and I get Humility turn 3. Soldiers prevail.      3-0-2

   **Top 8**
*** Quarterfinals Round Vrs Dave with Mono Brown***

 Game 1

I get beat down by Mono Brown quickly.

 Game 2

Nothing exciting happens except after 2 wastes hit me I drop Loa turn 3 and no more wastes were seen.  I win from Loa and removal.

 Game 3

I waste early a few times and that seals the deal, as he was land light, I gain advantage through draw spells, he scoops.

***Semifinals vrs Steve H (Grand Inquisitor) with Dragon***

 Game 1

I play a Tundra then say go
He plays Bazzar, uses it, and puts a dragon in the yard, drops a lotus and animates. I plow, and none of his remaining cards were Force of Will.  This seals the deal.

Game 2

He doesn't develop as quickly as he needs to and doesnt find enough squee action when Humility hits, causing me to win.   He dug so hard with Bazzar that the random non Magic player next to me asked if my deck was designed to deck the opponent. (Although I didn't see Laquatus)  I laugh and say  no..  his was though  I think.

***Finals With Jeff Anand (Samite Healer) playing Highlander***

We decide to split.  Me taking the Emerald (last Mox I needed) and unltd Trop, and me giving him a workshop.  We agreed to play it out in Waterbury for those interested in the Humility Highlander Matchup.  I just wasn't comfortable with the idea of random things possibly taking away my already secure winnings.  I had no idea what he was playing but knew that it ran one of alot of cards and was like Keeper.

This tournament was awesome.  It's ashame more people didn't show up.

For anyone who wants to netdeck my deck you have my blessing. Net it up, hate it out, tweak it out, study it, dis it, or do whatever you want to it. It's here now for the meta and is also open for discussion with me on this thread if anyone has any questions.

                                                              Peace    --Matrix--

1. You didn't rightfully win the match. TJ sat down maybe 30-45 seconds after he said "begin", which isn't uncommon for everyone to do at some point in a tourney, including you and me.

Again I feel I must defend myself.  Last night on AIM did I not point out to you Aaron that my opponent showed up 10 minutes late and did you not react in a matter that which could be described as surprised, saying something like "he did?!"?  Did you not then Im me back and say something to the effect of "oh yeah I remember that I was sitting right next to you!(which I can vouch for as you were) .. yea.. that was like 5 minutes I guess."  So then, at first you had no idea, then you acknowledge, then its 5, now its 30-45. Im sorry but not only was I there first hand to experience his lateness,  if I wasn't, could I really consider your perception of time as accurate?

I suppose theres not much to talk about here except the dice roll but it wasn't my intention to make this what it has become.  I just thought my version was worth hearing.

I dont know what else to say other then that I have tried to keep this report as civil as possible.  It seems a few folks wish to turn this into 4th grade recess.  Mods I will ask for you to please close this thread before someone throws mud and says nana,, sticks their tongue out, puts their thumbs in their ears, and wiggles their fingers about in a mocking manner.  I am extremely disappointed with how real the childish behavior is becoming on my 1st report ever!  Just because I am not posting my decklist does not mean discussion should be opened up for who's better then who, or who is or isn't a cheater.  Your opinion is appreciated if you can keep it in the form of an opinion, and not a harsh accusation accompianied by childish remarks.  There is another thread about rolling dice and accepting cards for scoops. Please either post there, go take a nap, or keep your thumb in your mouth, AND ALSO... if this was not already clear before,, PLEASE KEEP YOUR FLAMEING CHILDISH BEHAVIOR OFF OF THIS POST PLEASEEE!!!

I have only the vaguest idea of what's going on in the whole last paragraph of your introduction.

ok 2 I's aren't capped and a comma is missing.  The rest of the last paragraph looks pretty straight forward.  I eat KFC in my car, followed by smoking and then entering the building to register my deck.  Im sorry if you can't comprehend my description of these events, I tried my best.

Your assertion that the guy you screwed out of top 8 with your die-rolling antics "didn't deserve" to make it is nonsensical.

I believe the clear assertion is that the only one who was screwed out of T8 was myself due to rules not being followed at this tourney, however the dice roll had nothing to do with any of the other contenders because with all illegal activity aside and the DCI rules being followed my opponent showed up late and the judge was well aware of this but would not consider it.

Quote
And you never did get to the netdecking thing, unless you mean only to point out that a well-constructed deck has an advantage over a home-grown version that can sometimes make the matchup forgiving of play error. I'm not sure where you're going with that.

No sir that is not what I meant, in fact I find myself usually winning against netdecks not piloted by their creators more often then not.  My point was madness netdecked decks (because they're agressive) can still be more forgiving to mistakes then a mistake with Keeper or control.  Five times in my game 1, a squee was not returned,  and at least twice a Bazzar of Baghdad did not tap.  Usually 1 mistake with a deck that requires strenious though is enough to make the game go sour.  For example a Long deck, a TPS deck, a Keeper deck.  My other point was that I don't want to see you playing my deck even if I win tournaments with it because this is not New Mexico and you are not Bill Gates.

I will make one other point.  This post was not inteneded as a place for you to come and flame on my English skills call me a cheater and tell me my deck sucks.  If you feel this way come to Cape Cod next week,  place higher then me,  then ask for my permission to flame up my post,  until then please refrain.

Quote
Well you and TJ certainly didn't deserve to go to Top 8

Wrong...  by DCI standards I deserved the win.

Quote
Have a little more faith in your deck and stop relying on bribes and die rolls to make it to T8 for you. Obviously if you have to cheat your way to T8 then your deck sucks, you suck, and your whole idea of what it means to T8 in a tournament sucks and maybe you should use the time you spend telling everyone, "Look at me! I'm cool because I placed higher than most of you because I CHEAT!" to fix your deck so next time you can tell us how you made it to T8 WITHOUT cheating.

#1  I have all the faith in the world about my deck.
#2  Relying on a dice roll at that point seemed like my only option as the judge nor TJ would budge on giving me what was rightfully mine.
#3 my deck sucks but I was T8 bound,  what place did you come in?
#4 Please dont flame on my post,  telling me I suck my deck sucks and my idea of what it means to T8 sucks is inappropriate and I think someone is jealous Rolling Eyes

Im sorry smash but I disagree, and I will tell you why my Wrath is not a Humility.  I have played Humility board and when going up against control slaver find they like to use Annul off the board  this hurts the humility team just a bit, but wrath stays solid and kills annoying pentavites and the welders who love them.    Also I think the wrath is sweeter vrs tnt and I think the wrath is sweeter vrs madness, because they hit the life hard and fast.  I do think Humility is good vrs madness but I'd rather have a Wrath, however if this were dragon madness I had been playing against the first 2 rounds I would rather have had a Humility to stop an infinite mana loop from going down but in any case,  the Wrath never came up.. and I pulled Humility last week after Rayamfishman burned my Humility with an Annul in NJ

[/quote]1) I think you could learn a lot from netdeck and not making your uberdeck decks with wog.....
I think Ill stick with uberdecks that run wog  Rolling Eyes  I T8 in the toughest meta in the world probably and um who are you?  Also  I think you could learn alot from playing more magic cards and not reading about other people playing them and trying to copy them

2) I hope it wasn't sanctioned. It is against the floor rules to determine a match by dice rolls. Even if it was unsanctioned, they should follow the floor rules, but whatever...
As I tired to make clear before If this were in fact a DCI sanctioned event I would have gotten a match win due to my opponent showing up 10 minutes late  ...  please dont try to flame me on my post  this is my first post and you may refer to my deck as Matrix.dec and wonder whats in it,  not uberdeck with wog  and netdeck it   Rolling Eyes

- This tournament report will not include my decklist, as I am not an advocate for netdecking (which I will get to later). It will not include any props, slops or bowls of Corn Pops. It will not include stories of how fast food was a factor during the tourney (although it was), or how a mob of gathering card players took their business to a diner afterwards, as it was a Sunday and things were getting late. Aaron Kerzner needed to get home ASAP as mommy was getting worried that Matrix was going to beat a 13 and T8  Rolling Eyes  . This of course did not happen, but the story was just shy of legendary.

I of course played a control deck. It's not keeper because it runs duress and a Wrath of God. It ran mage but I wouldn’t call it EBA because it runs mis-d, future sight, and decree. I will call this "Matrix.dec" or "Matrix's Version of Keeper" for short. Cool   Most players will say "that guy is playing a bad deck because he uses Wrath of God." To that I just smile and think of the countless times wrath has saved me from board triple threats in tourney play, the time it killed 8 lethal goblins or the time it killed 2 swarms a verdant and 2 verdant tokens. Wrath is God!
Anyhow onto the juicy tidbits of this tournament experience. I’ll start with Saturday night when I call up Kerz to see how Team RI is going to muster up some tech for a Sunday win. Kerz answers and gives me the shun telling me be here by 11:30 or we're leaving without you. I try to ask who is going with us and he says James will be driving and Adam is going and that both he and Adam will play hulk. Already I sense something fishy about this one, as I doubt Adam would do that. I drink a lot, get no sleep and wake up feeling like my mind had been erased.

I show up at the Kerzner residence greeted by the lovely Mrs. Kerzner baking some cookies in the oven. I tell her I have no time to stay and eat her warm delicious cookies as I have a tournament to go and win  Cool  . She wishes me luck and tells me Aaron is downstairs. I proceed in and Aaron Kerzner is standing up in front of his computer (he looks confused). No one else is there and things are getting late so we forget about James and I take Kerz to Johnston.

We arrive and I tell Kerzner to go enter me in the tourney as I have chicken to eat in the car before registration (I know I said I wouldn’t go there... what can ya do). Ben Kowal and Eastman arrive as I'm sitting In my car enjoying American luxuries and I "wud up" them. Kowall comes over and I give him some contributions on the chicken front. I smoke a cig with Slim and talk about the upcoming Northeast Championships (Slim is a cool guy, for some reason he decided not to play today but we got enough peeps anyways). I ditch the cig and proceed inside and fill out the list trying to make it as illegible as possible so the secrets of the Matrix can be preserved.

Round 1 vs. random n00b netdecker playing madness

Game 1: Squees don't get returned bazaars forget to tap, and he wins anyways.

Game 2: in comes the removal out go the mages  Wink
we play for a long time, I answer his threats until I have 6 life and a ton of mana, I get Yawg will but no juice in the yard. I cast and think about the Fire/ Ice in my hand, and how it could mean another card, but I’m holding nothing to deal with anything and a Rootwalla can be lethal if not answered
I Will I Ice the next turn and a roaring wurm gets me. At this point I look at my next card and it was in fact a DT, which meant gang of Angels to help the fight. Oh well mistakes happen unfortunately if netdecking an aggressive deck a bad player can get around his mistakes and not deserve to. "The Dominia We've Created" by Matrix.

0-1-0
0-2-0

Round 2 Vs. Dave from YMG playing madness
Game 1: He plays quick flying creatures I Mathematically shouldn't be able to answer, and don't.

Game 2: He loses some land to my wastes, gets a madness creature stifled and ends up with a sol ring volc and arrogant worm on the table with 0 cards in hand to my 5. Normally this would be a wonderful situation, however a hand of 4 lands and a Yawgwill with no goods in the yard = good game.

0-2-0 *sloppy*
0-4-0*disgusting*

-- I decide that chances are slim. But I'm going to keep on keeping on.

Round 3 Vs. Sligh

Game 1: I get Loa, strip a mountain, dis one of his moxes to the grave and fend off until I reach Yawgmoth's Win

Game 2: I get Loa Strip and a mage names ball lightning when all he holds is 2 ball lightning he scoops I think I was at 10

1-2-0
2-4-0

Round 4 I get the bye.

I whopped the byes A$$ with a Yawgmoth’s win

2-2-0
something

Round 5 White Weenie

Game 1: I lose to savannah lions (I was light on removal today and mage is most certainly coming out)

Game 2: I plow things until I reach a point where God gives me the ability to see the future

Game 3: see game 2 future sight rocks Cool

Round 6 TJ with U/R still

Game 1: after sitting at the table for 10 minutes TJ emerges to whop my A$$

Game 2: I break 3 standstills one after another, the 3rd one gets broken when he activates 2 conclaves and I diabolic edict him he draws 3 off brokenness and mis-d's back to me I then cast fire and him not answering it means its time to ancestral recall and win

Game 3: I get a recall off and am in total control when the judge comes over to us and calls time. We realize that neither of us can go lethal in time and I show him my hand and ask him to scoop as the judge laughs it up he does not seem to want to scoop so we decide to roll a dice 3 out of 5 times. I don't know why the judge didn’t give me the win, nor do I know why people think they belong in the T8 because we we're supposed to draw:

#1: by DCI rules I got the win due to his showing up late

#2: if one must rely on 2 other contenders drawing one probably didn’t deserve to T8 anyway.

Dice Roll
Round 1 TJ rolls a 10 and I roll a 6
Round 2 TJ rolls a 3 and I roll a 14
Round 3 TJ rolls a 10 and I roll a 17
Round 4 TJ rolls an 18 and I roll a 10
Round 5 TJ rolls a 13 and I roll a 4

Later on I thought about the 4 and how it was so gross and unlucky I said to myself this wasn’t my lucky day, but if that 4 was a 14 who knows what could have or would have happened. And that is what I said to myself when I decided to play on after being 0-2-0. I got to raise a few eyebrows and make Kerzner.kid feel like I had screwed him out of T8. All in all this was a crazy day. The moral of this story is never give up, you may get lucky, and never rely on others to lose to get into T8, just win and earn the 8th seed .   Considering I got the bye I figured this wasn't really mine anyways so I was cool with a dice roll to determine an 8 seed TJ wanted in badly and so did I but 2 losses in a row to madness is 2 losses too many T8 was really not meant to love me on Sunday. It was all good though. I drop off Kerz in time for mommy to tuck him in and I get home in time for supper. I later make Tweakages to my deck accordingly and talk to muh wumz on the phizzle followed by passing out. This tourney was cool and I'll most definitely be there again next time.
