It is always SCG somewhere...unfortunately these are the days and times we have to offer to run these events. If you are playing Standard then maybe SCG philly is the place to be. If you want to play Modern try us on Saturday. If you are playing Legacy then maybe SCG philly is the place to be, if you want Vintage try us on Sunday.

I would advise changing the date since Full of Win has a tournament planned for the same day and conflicting tournaments is never good for business.

http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=43024.0

Hi,   I would love to be able to run a tournament on a date when no other store / venue is running one. But this does not seem to be a possibility with the Vintage community. I looked for a date that would be best for those in my area and those that are asking me to run more Vintage events. Unfortunately, the dates that are available between now and January are all tied up with events, and so, I chose a date which conflicted the least with venues in my area. I wish no one ill will or any harm in running my event but in the end I must do what I believe to be the best for me and my local player base. To that end I hope that FoW has a great turnout and can understand my position.

Standard 10 card Proxy with a $1.00 buy per extra card up to 15.

* It is the judges' discretion as to whether or not any given proxy is allowed; if you have any concern, we will check your proxies before the
event, and we will have a bunch of basic land and Sharpies in the event that some or all of your proxies don't meet our approval.
* It should be immediately clear to your opponent and any passersby what any proxied card is supposed to be.
* No substitution lists ("Every Counterspell in my deck is supposed to be Mana Drain.")
* No slips of paper in sleeves, even if glued to the card -- they can affect the thickness and rigidity, which affects randomization.
* No Collectors' Edition, even if you've trimmed down the corners.
* Acetone is cheap and easy to use to erase cards, with some masking tape, Q-Tips, cotton balls, and ventilation.
* Try to use cards with as many attributes -- type, mana cost, etc. -- that match the card you're proxying as possible.
* You may also use a fine-point Sharpie to write on the back of a card, so long as the sleeves you are using are completely opaque, and you
write clearly. These proxies and your sleeves should definitely be checked by the Head Judge before shuffling up. Please don't just write the
card name on the front of a card -- it can be too easy for your opponent across the table to mistake your Mox Ruby for the Mountain on which
you've written. Also, the more information you include, the better; at the very least, you'll want name (of course), mana cost, types/subtypes, and
power/toughness if it's a creature.
