I feel that the poison mechanic is strong for B/G, but I feel that R/W needs a similar mechanic to make the set balanced. Taking a cue from Vigilance and Defender (codenaming an existing mechanic) I decided to create a codename that both red and white are familiar with i.e. searching one's library for creatures with a creature (Avarax, Rebels).

Crimson Guerrilla
2RR
Creature - Soldier

1RR, Sacrifice Crimson Guerrilla, T: Destroy target land

Reinforce (When this card comes into play, search your library for a card with the same name and put it into your hand).

2/3

Hatchet Weilder
3W

Vigilance

Reinforce (When this card comes into play, search your library for a card with the same name and put it into your hand).

2/3

Current Wording:

Crimson Guerrilla
2RR
Creature - Soldier

1RR, Sacrifice Crimson Guerrilla, T: Destroy target land

Reinforce (When this card comes into play, search your library for a card with the same name, reveal it and put it into your hand).

2/3

Hatchet Weilder
3W

Vigilance

Reinforce (When this card comes into play, search your library for a card with the same name, reveal it and put it into your hand).

I don't really want this to fall completely off the list without at least a little discussion about the proposed mechanic (even if you don't like the creatures).

This is a very Avarax sort of quality. I like it, since it cannot really be abused, yet it allows you to have a neat mini-combo in this.

The Crimson Guerrilla's need to be a bit cheaper, by 1 in cc or R in the abilitiy.

The ability is okay, but do we really want to make like a dozen of these guys? We can just put the whole reminder text on the card as the ability. There's no need for the keyword.

Keywording is hawt right now though. Vigilance really didn't need to be keyworded, nor did bushido or defender. I just think that if we were trying to emulate Wizard's R&D, we would include at least a few keyworded abilities per set, just for the sake of coolness.

I don't think these have any real use for the keyword.

Though it IS a good keyword, but there's a lot of mechanics that could be called "reinforce" - we shouldn't use it up on the first one that comes to mind, especially when it's so short. We should save it for a lengthy one.
