20 boners for a twister? Does this have potential to get upgraded?

I was curious about that myself.  Obviously I'll still be there because it's right next to me, but without an upgrade I don't see much attendance.

Upgraded to a ruby is most definitely worth it.  I can't remember the last time the store got less than 30.  I'll be there and I'll try to rope some first timers in to coming with me.

Yeah, I haven't been to a tourney in quite a while, I'll try to make it out to this thing.

I'd encourage everybody to make it out to this, Hatch and Dave always run a good tourney.

Over half of MTWTFSS will be there. The other half has the chicken pox and need to be excused. Notes will be forthcoming.

There should be a cohort of Connecticans as well.  Let the womp-a-scrub begin!

Looks like I won't be making it. My boys backed out at the last minute and there's no way I'm making that drive alone.

Best of luck to everyone.

QnD

Round 1 I lost to Long (mostly because I gave game 2 away with a play error); it usually takes me a round to get over my hang over...

'Scrubs' womped on the way to elimination rounds:

Some guy with fish
Samite Healer
Kowal
Outlaw

Round 6 I drew in.

Most of these games ended when I did something like: 'end of your turn, bait, untap play bargain, win'.  I only used DSC once when I hardcast him to beat kowal.  In the current metagame I find him too slow, or too easily stopped, even against fish, which is why he's there in the first place.  More and more I'm looking to move towards tendrils or possibly flamevault (though i hate being dependent on red).

T8, beat Annand's friend playing Oath
T4, beat 'String Bean' playing Slaver
Finals, G1 he has LoA and I can't find land, but almost pull it off with bargain, but don't.  Game two he fails to mull and keeps a no land hand (it was late at this point).  Game 3 I don't find land again, although he had great stuff, and executed, so I likely would have lost anyway.  This guy evidently won Myriad the previous day, so he had a totally sweet weekend of T1 play; 'gratz to him.

General thoughts: I played one mirror against Outlaw, and won through superior sideboard (intuition for 2x DA, coffin purge).  I saw lots of maindeck tormod's crypt (which despite the press, isn't really a threat against this), but what really worries me is maindeck J.Caps.  If this trend continues, this deck really becomes unplayable, but for now, this list is a force.  Slaver (although jcap could become a problem), other gifts, oath, combo, and fish are all good matchups, and if I can steal games from workshop, it's pretty easy to T8 with this thing.

Props:
The good people of Beanie, tournaments 25 minutes away is tech
My opponents, especially the finals guy, good times
Jeff Annand and crew, beers and munchies after the tourney was great
Hatch, helping a brotha with his cell phone since 200...something

Slops:
Me, sucking at certain points, but still mizing to a T2 finish
Outlaw, porting my deck badly
Mondays, we need to invent an 8th day to stick between Sunday and the work week

Boo at GI for h8'ing at an Outlaw for trying a different kill, I just believe that time vault / fusilade is superior than the tendrils kill.  Grats on finals though.
