Maybe he's buying for SCG, and doesn't want to it on the SCG account? They are out of Grim Tutors, and stocking on Ascetics because those won their You Decide vote. Star City sells Grim Tutor at 135$, so I guess he's actively seeking them out on eBay if he can get a margin for the store.

Makes sense; that was my thought.  Especially if they want to keep the SCG account to selling only.  I imagine if he wants to buy cards, he just buys them from SCG at whatever discount he gets.
