So I got a random piece of mail today (from Louisville). It contained
MY unique Time Walk Ruby MY unique emerald Pearl Sapphire MY unique Ancestral MY unique timetwister 3 seas 2 grims 1 seal 3 fows 1 crypt
No name on the return address. No nothing besides the cards.
Thank you to whoever returned the great majority of my cards. My faith in humanity has just shot through the roof. Whoever you are, I would like to reward you. Hell, make up a fake email address and let me talk to you at least. However, if you wish to remain anonymous I will respect that. You are truly a saint.

Good question, but one that I'm not caring that much about at this point in time. The missing big cards are the Lotus, a Grim, and a smiley faced, 4th place SCG#2 Jet. I have very much doubt that "Louis" just kept the other ones because logic would say to send back the blatantly obvious unique card(Jet) and keep a different mox. Thanks to Big Brother, I mean google, I believe I found the name of the person, but it is not one that I recognize and can't find any connection to magic at all. Its possible he used a friends address to really make sure I could never find his identity. Regardless, I have 75% of my collection back and am happier than ever.

This is absolutely amazing. God, I love this world.
If I may make a quote from the poem "Desiderata," by Max Ehrmann: "In the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."

I am happy you got the bulk of your cards back.
However, seems to me this person is trying to keep his tracks covered and the rest of you cards that are still gone still have considerable value. I am trying not to be negative here, but how can you trust somebody that sends you anonymously most of your cards not to have nicked the rest as well. I cannot see props going to somebody that steals stuff and gives some of it back and now he is a hero. Still a lot is missing and still somebody out there is having fun with those. Perhaps i am a bit negative and off course i understand people stay in the dark just because of the accusations that can be made, but come on. I really would like to get in touch with the person that gave me back part of what was mine to begin with to know for sure he is not the one that took all of it in the first place.
Or is that just me?

Look at it this way-- You're never going to know exactly how it went down, who did what, and how these cards got to whom. So make up whatever story makes you more able to sleep at night.
I would be especially amused if whoever stole the cards was the victim of another thief, who essentially Robin Hood'd to send ML his stuff back. This would explain why not everything was in the stack sent back. And as such, that's what I'm going with until proven otherwise.

Here is a thought, what if two people were involved and they split the cards. ~this~ person felt bad or planned to save as many cards as he/she could for you. It's just a thought but that could explain why they didn't all come back.

You know, I had this O. Henry thought last night...
Since your distinctive cards aren't there, what if some noble benefactor took their own cards from their collection and sent them to you, and they aren't actually the ones from your deck? Like they read your story and wanted to help you out because they already have enough Lexii and lighting cigars with $100s gets old. I think this is the sappiest premise yet.

Almost. But the Twister and Ancestral are definitely the ones I had originally. Unless someone removed a small portion of gloss from the twister and creased it, while still retaining the gloss on the upper portion of the card to prevent creasing...which would be quite an odd thing to do. Don't worry, my girlfriend thought of that one too. You two are both saps

I have the best story TRUTH for it yet:
After the cards were on the judges table, and the judges had somehow gotten the information for Phil's deck, and put it all together in one spot, some random bumped the table and the case fell. It eventually got kicked/bumped/brushed into a corner where it sat for a few hours until Don Francesco Fernando Vivaldi, a swashbuckling pirate [ninja] who also happens to woo gorgeous women, found it. Upon opening said case of goodies, he laughed at the booty he had recovered. This certainly wasn't gold, so he wanted none of it. However, by that time, most of the magic playing crowd was dwindling away, and Don Francesco was bored of GenCon anyway. Lack of rum. And Swashbuckling. He hopped aboard a land ship (Some people refer to it as a car, but real pirates [ninjas] don't drive cars), and made it to the river, where he got in his boat, the Bearded Clam, and sailed off. Upon reaching the distant and fabled Isla Nooblar, he grabbed the two closest hot women and proceeded to have the most amazing pirate[ninja]-hot hooker threeway ever. Afterwards, he realized he failed to get gold from GenCon, and hadn't been looting OR pillaging in a while, so he handed the hoes some magic cards. It was a sad day for Don Francesco. Realizing that he failed at being a pirate [ninja] for the first time, he went out, looted, pillaged, and plundered until he got enough booty to mail you back what remained after he paid for his threeway. He decided against mailing you replacement costs for the stuff he used because Real Pirates [Ninjas] don't care like that.
THE END!
EDIT: Every instance of the word p_ir_ate became ninja. frown. EDIT2: While the filter has been removed, I've decided that I'd put [ninja] in wherever pirate appears for alternate readings.

a swashbuckling ninja This alone is worth the word filter. The thing itself is an amazing thing to happen. Maybe the goods got too hot, and while trying to fence them, the thief ran into a wall? However, many happy returns to Moxlotus and his cards.
