I was talking with a friend who told me about his first vintage tournament in which his Father was looking through a box of random commons. In the box was a Library of Alexandria. Luckily for my friend, his father knew a bit about magic cards, and threw the Library in with a bunch of other commons and bought it for $0.10.
This got me wondering. This this actually happen, or was my friend just EXTREMELY lucky?
Does anyone have any simaler stories?

I've heard of $0.25 Mana Drains, because hey, they're uncommons.
My personal best was $1 Sea Drake, after it had risen to a $40 card.

Another friend of mine went to a store that was selling Sol Rings for a dollar, so he bought all 9 that the store had.
But that's nothing compared to a Sea Drake for $1

Local shop had 3 Mana Crypts for $15 apiece. But that wasn't so much a mistake as it was the total lack of Vintage in TN and the shop owner's unwillingness to fool with eBay.

I was discussing this with one of my teachers today who boasted that he bought a Bazaar of Baghdad for $5.00 Exceot he thought they were $60 and was delighted when I informed him that they now go for about $250. He then replied "Oh, well, mine's messed up. The borders are all misprinted, it probably won't sell for that."
The guy bought a misprinted Bazaar for $5

Really don't wanna boast....but i got a sea drake, a tarmogoyf, a couple of wrath of gods and some pain lands for approximately 4 lightning bolts and a bunch of bad commons and uncommons.

At the Betrayer's of Kamigawa Pre-Re some guy was selling from a binder full of dual lands - $20 each. he had a beta Underground and beta Volcanic and although I wasnt serious about buying them, I asked what he wanted for them... "black border ones are better, $25 each for those" I tried to hide my excitement, told him to "stay here" as I nonchalantly walked out of the room and then RAN to the ATM.
