Well, lists and pics coming soon. As always, it takes a while to craft these reports, so check back in for the lastest goodies. More reports, pics, and lists can be found at www.Eudemonia.com/p9 (as soon as they can). Those reports are feature match coverage. In a field of 34 players (a third of which I have never seen before), TOP 8 was: Austin Martinez: Oath of Druids vs Luis Scott-Vargas: Ritual Gifts Morgan Brewer: Ritual Gifts vs Jeff Huang (jeffthefob): UW Fish Webster: Ritual Gifts vs Sam Miller: I can't remember (I have to sift through pics) EDIT: Ichroid w/4 Sutured Ghouls Mark Arucan: I can't remember either Edit UW Fish vs Eric Campusano: SUI BLACK w/Blue for Ancestral Recall and Time Walk! EDIT #1: I realized I don't know what those two decks were cuz Pyromasta's car got towed away because of totally shady circumstances. (I just gave him a lift 6 or so blocks away to reclaim his car.) Slops to Ace Hardware for making up shit about where Pyromasta's car was parked. This was a scam. Pyromasta lost out and that sucks. (and not just because I don't remember what the last two deck archetypes were. BOO Ace Hardware manager and some Towing Company. Boo and slops to them! Austin got pwned by Luis Sam got pwned by Web Mark got pwned by Eric Jeff got pwned by Morgan Top 4: Luis pwns Morgan Web pwns Eric Top 2: Webster and Luis split prize of Mox Ruby by either trade credit or cold hard cash. Highlights: Counter suite includes Force of Will x4 Mana Leak x1 or 2 Remand x 3 or 4 Duress x3 or 4 Reclaim Regroth Isochron Scepter Factory 2 proxy island (you heard me. We used Tourney Deck from Tinker.Finkel.dec thing) Extripate Quite possibly 62 cards.
Ok, now for some pics (it took me about an hour to upload all these and now say, 20 minutes to update this post with said pics and captions. PM me if you want to know how all this crazy IntarWeb stuff is done to spice up your own Tourney Thread). YouTube stuff will come later.
Some of Pyromasta's Pimp Shit (soon to be posted on SCG.com for Pimp Thread. Seriously, in the age of Vintage Proxies, why not pimp out your 10 cent commons and other cards by Vroman and whoever else? We are all card pimps. (ok, not Michael Painter, but his proxies didn't suck as bas this time, nor ex-Team Vacaville member Trevor (he moved away )
Round 5 I face this bad boy! New face to scene, and I hadn't scouted him out. He won diie roll and started with turn 0 Leyline of the Void. So I played Chalice for 1 thinking it might be Ichorid. It was Sui-Black. Sweet! It was still pretty pimped out.
Nick Weed's Oldschool Belcher vs Galen (Aardshark)'s uh, Combo Deck. (Grim? it had Windfall in it)
Galen's Grim combo vs Nick Weed's Belcher!
Nick's turn involved playing Mana Vault off Underground Sea, with Jar/Windfall in hand. He topdecks Memory Jar next turn. DHO!!!
Webster vs Pyromasta: Clash of the TMD'rs!!!
PyroMasta has Necropotence out at the moment. Does he win? Can Web overcome this? STAY TUNED!!!
Yes, that is a Sinkhole in top 4.
 Web Losing...to Sui Black.
 Webster Winning 4.8 secons later.
Pyromasta just after being sent to the Noob Factory for "Re-Education". Lyndon Johnson is a very bad egg!
Michael Painter's Field looks pretty sweet! Hey, what's up with Null Rod, Chalice and Oath? Is this some weird Fish deck?
Ok, so there I was, paired up with Webster, scorn of the Eudemonia seires (him and Luis Scott-Vargas). I mull to 4 game 1 and lose. It was a fight, but I mulled to 4 and lost, I accept that. This game, I pwn him with turn 0 Leyline of the Void, Broken stuff (like Crucible, Trinisphere, Chalice for Zero, Recuring Wastelands, AND TURN 1 RESOLVED AND ACTIVATED JESTERS CAP!!11!!one!1!one!!1! Of Tendrils, ETWx2, FTKx2, Tinker, Colossus, I make him park ETWx2 and 1 DSC to the RFG. Then I have the above field. Leyline. Trinisphere. Chalice for Zero. Cruicible. Wasteland. Cards in hand, even. (and I took out a few lands with Wasteland). He Gifted EOT for Chain, Echoing Truth, Volcanic Island and Fire/Ice. I gave him Fire/Ice because even TMD full members sometimes think that protecting Trinispher/resolving Welders is what Shop Aggro is about. It turns out, Fire/Ice, even after a wasted Volcanic Island, taps Trinisphere, shutting it off for the "I WIN! Whoot!" turn by Gifts/Ritual/Combo. I got my ass handed to me. Later, I asked Web if he included Volcanic Island in the Gifts pile specifically for the "Mind Game" that Fire might be better than Ice. He said "mmmmmmmaybe."
Luis Vs Morgan! Gifts on Gifts action! Don't soil yourselves.
Suicide Black! Yes, that is 7 points of beats per turn with SINKHOLE in hand in Top 4!!!
Lunar kickin it oldschool with Cereberal Assassin. FULL DISCLOSURE! The turn after Lunar went Dragon in Klemic's ass, getting Ms Platz on the field and HardCasting Sundering Titan, Klemic topdecked Chain of Vapor. Dho!!!
I saw Luis putting on a Game Face: A MEAN Face. But it turns up I saw only this.
Actually, THIS is how Luis PWNS face in Norcal: His Kryptonite Stare at your deck!!!
What's up with this field, Klemic?
Different game featuring Klemic and some other player who's name rhymes with Ictor Handersen. One of these players has a combo boner, the other one doesn't.
What now, biatch? Wait, how did he hardcast a DarkSteel Colossus with only so much mana availia...oh. Salvagers and Company. GG, G2? SB?
Painfull, but this stuff happens in T1. Turn 2, 18 tokens.
Same scenario, but I can't differentiate between these two pics. I heard rumors of an Echoing Truth sitting on top of Jeff's Library. I could be wrong. (Top 8 none-the-less! 3 out of 3 tournies!)
Rollin, with the Gansters, but unfortunately, Austin is just to white and nerdy. (er, well, pimpin with that hat and shades...).
How bad can Ancestral Recall get? This! Especially if LSV REB's your Brainstorm!
Web's SB tech against Phyrexian Negator? Flametongue Kavu. Pwned!
This is why I don't play Tendrils/Combo/Will.dec. It makes my head hurt. My idea of Combo is playing a Black Lotus, say, 4344312 times and Spellboming someone into submission! EDIT#2: I just remembered what this pic was!!! Campusano Extripated Web's graveyard. This is Web's Graveyard with Yawgmoth's Will on the stack!!! DAAAAAAMN! What would you chose to Extripwn pre-Will? Eric chose Brainstorm out of a grip of broken cards. Extripate: Good on paper, but bad when Web is going off!
Round 5: If Austin wins this, he can draw into top8. He is about to consider a Mulligan. What would YOU do?!?
He decides to keep this hand! Was that your choice too? or is Austin a 13 year old noob who blindly sits behind Oath.Scrub.dec?

Ritual Gifts takes 3/8 top 8 slots and 3/4 top 4 slots. Interesting... wonder how the deck will do post Future Sight.
This is more ammo for the players who don't like Yawg Will in this format.

so I actually showed up and played in my first vintage tourney in a year...
I didnt have much in the way of cards so instead of trying to borrow and stuff I just tossed together my ol Cerebral Assasin list for shits and giggles. I didnt even think about what went in it really, I did no testing and only really played to have fun...soooo
R1: Ritual Gifts (mr klemic)
Game 1 we play a few turns and on I think his turn 3 he drops down an empty the warrens for 24 tokens...I cant dig into a dragon combo so its on to game 2. Game 2 he gets out a turn 2 tinker for collosus, I play nothing but am holding what might be a win if he doesnt time walk and I can draw into a bazaar or other such cool card. He attacks and of course 2nd main phase plays time walk, so I necromancy nabbing a Dragon I had dumped and draw the game much to his dislike. Game 3 I dont remember much of other than he doesnt get into too much (think he gets sorta mana flooded) and I eventually combo out turn 3 or 4 with Dragon combo. Game 4 We both play some interesting turns, and I duress and extirpate something silly away from him just to see his hand..turns out the turn time ends on he has nothing to stop me from animating a dragon..unfortunatly I cant combo out so I just float enough mana to hard cast a sundering titan and get animate on a Platinum Angel, during this turn I intuition for Echoing Truth x2 and Triskelion, I nab trike because that is my win and he knows this, and im sorta half hoping he will think giving me trike will let me win. He actually plays it that way so I bounce his DSC that he tinkers up and I am able to win on turn 4 of extra turns.
Round 2 im playing against a buddy of mine who is playing Sullivan Sollution. (ryan cribbs)
Game 1 I play some stuff and end up duressing him after pitching an extirpate to bazaar...this is unfortunate since I find he is holding 3 stilfes and a Shadow of Doubt in his hand and I could have really used getting rid of the stifles...I end up blasting my way through all the stifles and get myself in position to win the game with titan and co...unfortunatly at this point (and mind you he has played nothing other than stifles and a shadow and only has 2 lands I believe) my first turn mana crypt catches up to me (turn 8....at least I won one coin flip) and I lose...I beat myself, gg. Game 2 I play some stuff and end up getting a welder to stick...of course planar void is out and pithing needle is on bazaar so im not doing much anyways...welder turns sideways and Squee joins the party and I get him down to about 5 or 6 health before he plays a Confidant...I sweat out like 5 more turns and he eventually kills himself with me sitting at 4 or 6 health...so so far this match i beat myself once and he beat himself once...nice!! Game 3 is a somewhat more interesting game which consists of us actually playing things...still though he cant find any creatures...time comes along and I think we are looking to draw.......he hits 2 dudes and stifles my duplicants ability and then edicts my duplicant followed up with another creature on turn 3 to seal the deal on his last turn (5) gg, but the lamest 3 games of T1 evar!
Round 3 im playing against "manaless" ichorid (dont remember your name sorry)
Game 1 im not even close really as I have nothing MD against ichorid really and my only outs (dragon combo basically) are stopped by turn 0 leyline and chalice 0. He combos me out like turn 5 or 6 or something. Game 2 hes doing his thing and has a leyline out shutting my stuff down..he is a turn out from comboing me and I hardcast a platinum angel...he scoops..turns out ichorid doesnt like platz, heh Game 3 is interesting sorta, he bazaars and dredges like a fiend of course, I intuition up extirpates to eat all his ichorids, but next turn he is able to get 2 shadows and gets his factory to sac the 3 creatures to make one really giant one to win...of interesting note is that I dropped tormods crypt to try out extirpate and if I had crypt I would have won game 3, but such is life and im not too worried about it. The other thing of note is that I think the match should have been much worse for me (even maybe me losing game 2) if he would have played more aggresivly and not only gone for the combo...ichorids beat down too man, and you should never really cabal therapy me by saccing before you attack, maybe it was just cause I was going old school and hes never seen CA. But game 2 I might have lost if he would have played aggro from the start, he might have had me before I could hard cast the platz.
Round 4 (woot 1-2 drop bracket..but im playing cause my buddy I played in r2 has a shot at top 8 and I want to play for tie breaks sake) is 2land belcher...ffs my worst matchup imaginable, didnt even think id have to worry about it. (nick, mr rules lawyer I play to win at all costs even if im mr scrubby mc scrub, weed)
Game 1 he plays some stuff and gets a belcher turn 2 and pings me for 14..I cant find an answer on my turn 2 and he pings me the rest of the way his turn 3. Game 2 he attempts to tendrils me for some reason....he only gets me for 14 though. So I play lotus gemstone...duress, eternal witness nabbing back duress. He is stuck with playing out an elvish spirit guide the next turn. I duress again and get a strip mine for his land. we sit there for a few turns until I hit ancient grudge and kill his sol ring, I also cast a trike and start beating at this point. I yawg will next turn and replay ancestral I think and duress and strip on his other land and replay ancient grudge to leave him only with ESG on the board. Trike beats down for a number of turns until he loses. Game 3 is why the matchup sucks obv...he has a made hand and tendrils me out with like 12 storm or something turn 1 before I get a turn.
so shit...im 1-3, but hell I havnt played in forever so i continue playing.
Round 5 is against DOOMSDAY!!! nice...so apparently there has been a time warp to two years+ ago...kk (dont remember your name, Jonathan I think?)
Game 1 I go pretty nutty and he cant get that 3rd black for doomsday before I titan away all his lands, I follow up with intuition for 2xSquee and Possessed portal and procede to lock him out with no mana. (basically the tourney was worth it for me because I got to get at least one portal win just like in the olden days...woot woot) Game 2 I play some unimportant stuff kinda (get a welder but cant bazaar into anything that will win it for me) He ends up getting his doomsday turn 3 or 4 and wins with chalice out on 0 with animate/wgd/ambassador laquatus, which was a new one for me in doomsday (used to beacon) I guess he had beacon too, but couldnt win with it due to chalice 0 out. I make note of this and correct it for game 3 game 3 I duress turn 1 off a mox and bazaar or ancestral or something. he plays land go (maybe a brainstorm?) Turn two I get a lotus I think and play intuition getting titans. I also play welder and then chalice for 1 that were in my hand (chalice 1 > doomsday) he cant do much so I weld in titan next turn to kill his lands and it gets worse for him when I animate a platz too.
Round 6 is vs Bomberman (eduardo)
Game 1 he has to mull to 5 and still doesnt have much vs my pretty broken hand of turn 1 tinker (forced) turn 2 welder + bazaar and he never can catch up at that point (titan kills lands next turn..although he kinda played it odd and could have save his lands and/or bounced titan instead of welder to buy himself at least one more turn...) Game 2 He has an okay-ish hand with like turn 1 trinket mage getting aether spellbomb and draw of some sort. I have another solid hand though end up with turn 2 titan out + welder. He blocks titan next turn and I animate the mage to nab chalice to help vs his combo if he can somehow pull it off and end up winning a turn or two later after having to weld titan for duplicant at one point.
so I end up 3-3 and actually end up one game over .500 so im actually suprised as I didnt expect much with a very outdated deck and very rusty play skill after being gone for a while...I even had a shot 2 of the 3 matches I lost as if crypt wouldnt have killed me game 1 against SS I would have won and if I had one more mana game 3 vs ichorid I would have been able to hard cast platz again ftw (not to mention I would have won if I had kept my original t. crypts and not played extirpate, heh) The belcher match was a coin flip for me and I would have been lucky to pull that match out.
If anybody actually wants a list let me know, but im not gonna bother posting it up here as its nothing new or that interesting.
All in all it was fun to play again and nice to whip out the ol' CA again heh. The deck isnt that amazing anymore, but was actually suprisingly close to being quite good somehow, heh..maybe with some though it could make for a solid casual/competitive deck heh.
My youtube profiles are leet as hell too, watch for them, hehe...
Props: umm, people in general at the tourney was good times. David and Luis for winning of course. People for buying cards off me and helping me pay rent for another month. My buddy Ryan for making it out to his first T1 and only missing top 8 on tie breaks, good work man. Slops: umm, rules layering in the x-2 why didnt you just drop bracket. David and Luis for fricking winning again and robbing us of a final match for like the billionth time, heh (respect though, heh you guys are pretty gosh durn good maybe thats why you guys get pro tour points and luis was on the national team, heh) People for playing the same shit they always play (which I suppose includes me although im not active in the meta anymore) if you havnt beat luis and/or david for the last like 122198925 tournaments with what you are playing dont you maybe think its time to try something new?
I cant think of much else to say other than good tourney, with a pretty solid turnout for a middle of the series event for a ruby (34) getting 6 rounds instead of 5 made my money for casual T1 much more worth it, heh.

That's all for now. Some YouTube stuff will be uploaded/posted later (tonight or tomorrow) Pre-report: FNM I pwn face with Dual Slivers. 2 Telekenetic ones, 2 Mighty ones, 2 Poulty ones, pluse 2 Evolution Charms, and other hotness. I go undefeated in 3 rounds of FNM Sactioned FNM versus a field of 8. I win Extriparate (whatever it is called) and playtest the next day, Sliver on Sliver action. Good job Austin. Anyways, me Austin and Jr depart for Berkely at 9:45 for the 11am rendezvous with Norcal Meta. Jr's deck is assembled during the car ride up there (props to Austin for having not one, but two potential lists for 3 Ninjas/Slapjack. Think UW Bomberman with 3 Ninja's. That's right, 3 Ninja's AND 4 Meddling Mages. It gets done, and I continue to play The Gilded Claw, because it is fun and is pimped out. Ausin plays Oath of Noobs. Round 1: I get pwned by Webster. Basically, I mull to 4, keep a hand with Sapphire, Recall and 2 other cards, resolve both and draw more accel and get Trinisphere online. Wait. Um. Actually, Webster won die roll. His first turn play was Lotus/Crypt/MerchantScroll/Ancestral/Ancestraltargetinghim/MerchantScrollX2/MysticalTutor/Delta go. Then I played my broken shit. When Trinisphere hit the stack, Web's response was Mystical Tutor for DSC, GG, G2 SB?. I did get Gilded Lotus, Karn, and maybe had trike in hand, but I was dead. G2: See original post to find out how badly Ritual Gifts can pwn The Gilded Claw, no matter what the hate, now matter how pimped out. My only consolation: Web has pimped out his deck finally. I could be wrong about this, but 2 years ago his decks weren't this pimped out, and I am a lowroller pimp (I have to settle for foiil Pyrite Spellboms and such, sigh...) but his deck is tweaked out. I lose round 1 to my Arch Nemesis. Round 2: Marco Berenno. We are seated at table 17. Out of 17. I have never seen this view of the shop from here. We relocate to comfortable seats (in a less scrubby area). He beats me 2/3. Nothing exciting here. Shop on Shop action. Nothing terribly broken. Round 3: Kevin: UBBOBorg Shop fun. I go broken 2/2 games. Round 4: Ictor Handersen: BobCombo. I go broken 2/2 games Round 5: Sui Black. I didn't know this at first. I mulled into 6. He plays turn zero Leyline and turn 1 swamp (he won roll.) I play turn 1 Chalice for 1 wondering if he was playing Ichorid, and hoping that Cabal Therapy Hate is my best play. Turns out it was Sui Black. G2 I resolved 3 Sphere of Resitances by turn 4. Whoot! Juggs for the win! Round 6: Pimp Gifts with 7 proxy power:. I went mad broken both games. He scooped to Jester's Cap game 1 and died to inexperience with Vintage Senarios G2. (we are farily casual in Vintage. Even Web let me not tap something for mana when I thought I tapped for 5 for Guilded Lotus or something, when 6 mana worth of stuff was technically tapped.). Chalice of the Void? No mercy. Not mercy for you or me, no one. If you scrub, you scrub. I played intuition into my Chalice for 3 versus Marco earlier. He had Titan and other stuff on field, to my almost nothing, but with Demonic Tutor in hand, running through options, I realized that Tinker and Crucible (for Factory) were shut off. But I played Intuition previously. We both forgot about chalice SCOOP! Dho! 9thish again! Damn you Webster!!!! All in all, a great fun time. I experimented with showing restraint in SB techniques. (only SB'd 6ish cards games 3-6. SB 10 cards games 1-2. First 2 I lost, last 4 I won. What Can I Learn From This?!?) Props!: All in attendence! I even won Portal Wrath of God as door prize! Slops: Me for having a slops section in last report. Everything was swell! No one deserved slops! Slops: Some bitch ass towing company scam artist corksuckingiceholes that towed away P's car. That was uncalled for.

I played in this event as well, and I managed to mulligan at least once, if not twice, in every single game for 6 rounds. I was able to keep a 7-carder only 1 time, and of course I lost that game. That I was even remotely in contention for t8 in the final round was impressive in itself. As far as that picture of me with Necro in play...it didn't resolve Oh, and my last round against Fob went something like: Me: Cast stuff Fob: Daze Me: Cast stuff Fob: Daze Me: Cast stuff Fob: Daze Me: k, gg Seriously, it was totally unfair. I think I got Dazed a total of 5 times in 2 games. Ugly. I also lost a round to that Sinkhole deck, because I mulled to 5 3 times. No joke. I even won a game where I kept 5 cards and had no play whatsoever for 3 straight turns. Turns out I kept a no-lander, and he kept a hand with 4 Swamp, 2x Sink, Waste. And I lost game 3 because he had too much Duress, and on the last turn when I had tutored up Will for a 30-ish card graveyard and Brainstormed it on top of library, he Sinkholed+Wasted me to 2 mana sources. C'est la vie. Props: Lunar for finally showing up! So many insane plays! Lotushead for being a savage friend and giving me a ride. Slops: My deck, for never giving me lands. Luis, for his comment about "saving time and just skipping right to the 5-card hand" I laughed, but I was actually crying inside. Oh, and major fucking slops to Ace Hardware or whatever for fucking towing my car and raping my wallet for $160. Straight up bullshit. And by the way, in case you guys didn't know, I'll be moving away to Boston soon, so the next one of these will be the last one of these I will be able to make in the near future. Good, because I don't ever want another $160 charge to get my car out of a garage. If I even show up, I will play with all of my foiliest and foreignest cards, which will make for a much shinier picture.

I was 5-1 with dice rolls that day. Going first a lot is ... nice. Quite impressive considering it's usually the opposite. Anyways, I had a few details to share about our match: Game 1: After I passed the turn to you, my hand was 3x dark ritual, force of will, mystical tutor, polluted delta. I was going to mystical for yawg-will EOT if you didn't do anything interesting. However, apparently I was playing against a mighty wizard as your turn was composed of: sapphire --> ancestral, emerald, ruby, sol ring --> 3-sphere, wasteland (off a mull to 4 on the draw) So 3-sphere put a bit of a damper on my yawg-will plan so I had to mystical --> tinker in response to the 3-sphere and tag in my DSC teammate. Then you had karn out which gave you further time to find a welder or duplicant for DSC. You had about 2 draw steps to find a solution because I hadn't gotten a blue card or a 3rd land to let me cast force of will, but I drew strand + brainstorm in order and you didn't draw a solution beforehand so I was safe. Game 2: You forgot to mention that this is where I mull to 5 . I could have risked my 7-card hand of: lotus, crypt, ruby, pearl, gifts, merchant scoll, brainstorm against the chances that you play chalice or possibly sphere of resistance (which I hadn't seen yet) but that wasn't a gamble that I was prepared to take. So my 6-card hand was trash, no mana sources. My 5-card hand is fine though I have no idea what it was. I gifted for rebuild, e.truth, fire/ice, volcanic at your EOT. The volcanic was just to give me a guaranteed land drop on my next turn if I needed it to go off. I already had chain of vapor in hand so I would get a way to deal with 3-sphere without having to use the chain on your 3-sphere. I could save it for the chalice@0 or the leyline. My play on my turn would be pretty much dependant on what I drew that turn. It was nothing so I passed and iced your 3-sphere at your next EOT, untapped and went off. Lastly, most of the deck is pimped, like my insane shirt, which exudes a level of pimpness only to be expressed as sublime. This is what I ran: 4 brainstorm (foil, m.masques) 4 force of will (signed to me) 3 gifts ungiven 3 merchant scroll (foil) 1 ancestral recall (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 chain of vapor (foil) 1 mystical tutor (german, mirage) 1 rebuild (foil) 1 time walk (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 tinker (foil) 4 dark ritual (korean, 4th ed.) 4 duress (foil, signed, 7th ed.) 1 demoic tutor (unlimited) 1 necropotence 1 tendrils of agony (signed) 1 vampiric tutor (korean, visions) 1 yawgmoth's bargain (signed) 1 yawgmoth's will (simplified chinese, signed by richard garfield) 1 recoup (foil) 1 black lotus (unlimited, signed by richard garfield/chris rush) 1 darksteel colossus 1 lotus petal (signed) 1 mana crypt 1 mana vault (korean, 4th ed.) 1 mox emerald (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 mox jet (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 mox pearl (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 mox ruby (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 mox sapphire (unlimited, signed by richard garfield) 1 sol ring (unlimited) 1 tolarian academy (simplified chinese) 2 flooded strand (foil, signed) 4 polluted delta (simplified chinese, signed) 2 underground sea (revised, signed) 2 volcanic island (revised) 1 island (foil, urza's saga, no expansion symbol) 1 snow-covered island (coldsnap) 1 swamp (foil, urza's saga) SB: 1 volcanic island (revised) 1 fire/ice (foil, apocalypse) 1 echoing truth (foil) 1 pyroblast 1 red elemental blast (alpha) 3 pithing needle (signed) 1 tormod's crypt (the dark, signed) 3 flametongue kavu (signed) 1 massacre 2 empty the warrens

Right right. Recap #2. Web mulls to 5 on the draw. I cap him turn one, leyline turn 0 and have above field by say, turn 3, and I get pwned anyways. to be fair, I could have waited a turn to set Chalice at 1 instead of 0, but I wanted to rob him of Moxen for a bit. Dark Ritual >>> moxen sometimes... Game 1: After I passed the turn to you, my hand was 3x dark ritual, force of will, mystical tutor, polluted delta. I was going to mystical for yawg-will EOT if you didn't do anything interesting. I actually attributed Scrolling for Mystical Tutor to be the "Just in case shit happens so I wont lose no matter what punk ass bitch LotusHead pulls out of his ass" kind of play. Masterfully played, by the way. As to Diopter's comment about the top 8 congestion of Ritual Gifts. The deck is pretty solid, but 2 of the 3 pilots were Webster and Luis. Both dominate our Meta with tight play and lots of good cards. The Third was a player I might have heard of, but is not a regular (yet!). If Web or Luis decided to play say, Ichroid, then Ichorid would dominate. Playskill >>> Decklists (assuming the decklist doesn't completely suck). Anyways, this is the pimpiness of my list: 2 City of Brass 2 Gemstone Mine 4 Mishra's Workshop Mirroden Swamp hand drawn proxies. Took me about an hour for all 4. 1 Strip Mine Antiquities, no tower. I'm not that pimp. 1 Tolarian Academy I bought 1 pack of Saga ever. This was my rare. Whoot! 4 Wasteland 3 are Vroman modified. MadMax, Chernobyl, Biohazard. 1 Mishra's Factory (4) Winter, double signed by Phil and Kaja Foglio 1 Duplicant Foil 4 Goblin Welder 1 Karn, Silver Golem Not foil. I lose to Woo for "High Cost". Basically, in friendly games, going first via High Cost means revealing a card in your deck at random, and whoever has the highest monetary value goes first. Woo flipped a Foil Recoup which is > Non foil Karn. 1 Memnarch Foil. A gift from my friend Adam after my non-foil Memnarch caused him to get shoved into his own Door to Nothingness! 1 Razormane Masticore Foil 1 Sundering Titan Foil. Pimped out by artwork from my Goth friends in SoCal 1 Triskelion French Foil Triskele. Austin got it for me. My 13 year old teammate does all my trading for me. I suck at trades. 4 Juggernaut FNM Foil. I hate the pic, but it is what Juggs look like, so I never acknowledge the DarkSteel ones. 1 Black Lotus Signed by Chris Rush. Nice guy. My theory, Signed Power is power you will never part with. I will never part with my Lotus, so I finally got it signed. 4 Chalice of the Void 3 Crucible of Worlds 1 Darksteel Ingot Arena Foil won in combat. 1 Demonic Tutor Unlimited is best I can do. 2 Gilded Lotus Both modified with silver sharpies. They are way cool. 3 Intuition 1 Jester's Cap WB Modified. 1 Mana Crypt 1 Mana Vault 1 Memory Jar 1 Mindslaver Foil. 1 Mox Emerald Tore up. A gift from a friend back in 97 1 Mox Jet Bought for $20 new (in 94). I played without sleeves until 99 or so. Tore up now. 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Ruby Vroman Textless Proxy. Someone jacked my original somehow. This is equally priceless however. 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Sol Ring 1 Time Walk Foil Proxy 1 Tinker 1 Trinisphere Foil 1 Ancestral Recall Foil Proxy 1 Vampiric Tutor SB: 1 Duplicant Foil SB: 1 Triskelion Foil English SB: 1 Jester's Cap SB: 4 Sphere of Resistance SB: 2 Seal of Cleansing FNM Foil SB: 4 Leyline of the Void SB: 2 Seal of Primordium Foil anti Pithing Needle on Seal of Cleansing Tech SB: 1 [5D) Engineered Explosives Not foil, because Foil one always hangs out in Salvager decks.

Yeah, that picture of me in the first post went a lil something like:
Its turn 1 or turn 0 of extra turns (I forget to be honest) he dropped DSC the turn before and is yet to slap me with it. Due to this and knowing he has no cards left in hand (and also now that I look at the pic again, I realize he had needle on bazaar and needle on welder) I decide to make a play to at least try to pull out a draw here just in case hes lucky enough to top deck a force or something and hard cast it the next turn (even assuming I find bazaar to combo out with) So with dragon and platz in yard and titan in my hand I decide to play my combo to generate enough mana to hardcast the titan to shut off his mana and end up with platz in play to force a draw at time. My other play is to intuition up echoing truths to get rid of that DSC and maybe pull out a win if he goes along with my plan. In order to do this my third intuition target is Triskelion which I had used the turn beforehand to combo out with via dragon looping him. This was a sorta bluff as I figured hed just give me trike and that would be that, but he went for my bluff and gave me an echoing truth (I think the mana floating made him think I could hard cast the trike then start looping again with dragon ftw) I floated 2 more mana and bounced DSC and then finished the loop by animating the platz then hardcasted the titan. He draws into a delta or strand the next turn and I beat down for 10 putting him to 4. He top decks Chain of vapor at this point but even if he were to bounce something it would put him to 3 which lets either the remaining platz or titan to still swing for lethal. None of this would have been possible of course had not dragon combo and the worry about extirpate not had me run Necromancy to force a draw game 2 with DSC taking a walk through time to beat my brains in. Which is another cool thing because every match now ive played where ive drawn a game with dragon combo ive won in tourney play (useless fact of the day). I would however say that I saw my one necromancy probably more often during the day than any of the 3 animates in the deck.
@ Pyro...sucks bad about your car man...hopefully the 2 shiny euro goblin welders I hooked ya up with was a good consolation prize, heh.
EDIT: Are we comparing pimped out decks? wonder what all I had left in mine, lets see
Foil German and French Goblin Welders (pyro is now proud owner of them though) Foil French Squee goblin nabobs Foil Chinese World Gorger Dragons Foil Chinese Possessed Portal Foil Signed Triple altered Duplicant Foil Platz Foil Thirst For Knowledges Foil Japanese Deep Analysissesssess Portuguese Yawg Will signed in silver Korean Gemstone Mines (not a fan of the foils on these I guess) Beta Animate Deads Signed in silver Necromancy Japanese Tolarian Academy Chinese Strip mine Foil Intuitions Foil Vamp Tutor Signed Foil Tinker Doug Linn (Hi-Val) Sundering Titans 1xVan Gough 1xHokusai (japanese titan for the hokusai obv which makes mine better than jdizzles ;p) Foil Eternal Witness signed in silver Foil Echoing Truths Foil Ray of Revelations French bb Balance BB german Demonic Tutor (yeah I dont have beta...meh) ditto on the Sol Ring portuguese Mana Crypt Stylin Japanese old school triskelions half-leet BB city of brassesss from Italian Chronicles (think it was their chronicles..bb italian is what I know, heh) Alpha Red Elemental Blasts (I like these more than beta because they actually say Instant on them which makes them more correct than the beta ones which are lame-o interrupts even though the red is a bit darker on beta, the print error on the alphas makes them sexier IMO)
and some other crap I cant remember. I even ran beta basic island and swamp cause I was too lazy to look through my cards to find non basics for the tourney, lol. I did fail to bring my play mat for the tourney though as I woke up late and ran out the door with only my deck box. But my play mat pwns face via Rathi Dragon holding a black lotus drawn of course by Christopher Rush which I won for a 2nd place prize at a tourney (although I am glad I got the playmat over the first place prize of Mana Drain..because Mana Drain is a terrible terrible card which I will never play ever)

Yes. They are insane. Web: Your shirt was the stone cold nuts. Where did you get it? Lunar: Yeah, at least I got something for my trouble, right? As far as comparing penis size pimpage goes, I play with mostly non-foil cards and proxies for big things, but I do have full power and foils of just about everything. I'll probably play something different and fun next time. I may go back to some decks I haven't played in a few months...stay tuned!

YouTube fun! These might not work for a bit (YouTube technicalities) but here it goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsc9L611heALunar on his performance so far and SS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVmtOMnPBJALunar on Cereberal Assassin in general http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrAffQ6hL6Ujeffthefob on UW fish etc. Lunar: EDIT: Are we comparing pimped out decks? wonder what all I had left in mine, lets see I don't mind pimp details. TMD reports are supposed to be entertaining. For others following this thread: even though out of 34 players, about a third of them were new to the scene (not scrubs neccesarily, just new to me), I still managed to capture each rounds matches (the List of who played who for each round of 6 rounds). If even one person is interested in it, I will take the 20 minutes neccessary to post it. (for data crunching purposes I guess).

New hotness up at www.Eudemonia.com/p9 No lists yet (I'll edit them into main post) but Eudemonia's Feature Matches with Pics are up. In the Web vs Jr game you can see me and Marco siting at scrub table 17. Think of a big U. On one end is the top players, the other end Me and Marco. We just happened to be close to the feature match.

Haha, for once I think I will post my tourney report here... though it isn't as detailed ^^ Just random highlights. Rd 1- U/W/B Fish /w Counterbalance He has a PTQ top 8 Pin in his playmat ^^ friendly guy, we chatted a lot. Game 1- He led of with flooded strand and ancestral recall after mull'ing to 6... good thing I FoW'ed it. I started off with the "tundra, dog" and that proceed to beat him down a lot. I thought he was playing control... then he tapped out to play a Dark Confident.... >.< Well, that made the StP in my hand a much useful card. Nothing too exciting, I cast a lot of guys and they turned sideways. He resolved a Counterbalance in this game, but didn't use it sometimes... and other times it didn't hit. He probably didn't use it because he believe he was losing... Game 2- He led off with Counterbalance turn 2. And that proceed to hit all my stuffs... T_T I cast Meddling Mage it revealed Jotun Grunts... (ouch), then I cast Jonun Grunts he revealed Dark Confident. He proceed to bash me with those mentioned dorks + a morph. Nope, not Voidmage Prodigy but... Exalted Angel herself... It is nice to see that people bring in specific stuffs against u/w fish. (not to mention Eric Campusano's 4x Black Knights maindeck) Game 3- He kept the Brainstorm + 1 Land hand. My hand is fast men + wasteland. I basically exploited the 3 color's weaker manabase and won off from that. Man, Old Man didn't make an appearence (1-0) Round 2 Galen's Grim Long He is a regular at these event. He usually plays bit slow because he does a lot of calculations in his head. Game 1- He went off, but didn't use a tendril, he EtW'ed for like some number of goblins. However, he was low on life and couldn't do much about his tapped Mana Vault. My men bleed him some good. Null Rod was amazing, hold him off for quite some turns. I could had seal the deal much earlier if I drew another blue card for my FoW. Game 2- Orim's Chant and Meddling Mages got him pretty good. And I FoW'ed his Massacre (hate that card). One of the Orim's Chant was topdecked, but I doubt he could had done much. (2-0) Round 3 DAVID WEBSTER OCHOA /w Flametongue.dec Game 1- We went to the Chinese place next door to eat lunch. Egg Plant + Chicken is good. Game 2- He hand me cash, I card the bill. (2-1) Round 4 Lunar's friend playing SS (u/b Fish as the way I call it ^^) Game 1- Erhm... To sum it all up I have way more men than him and they ran him over. He did cast EE for 1 which blow up my guys, but I have more from where it came from. Game 2- I misplayed; I should had fetch for a tundra instead of Island, I wanted to protect my mana base too much and it ended up costed me. Because he powered out a Dimir Cutpurse, so I StP it, he FoW. Then I stare at my Island and my Savannah Lion. I procede to topdeck a couple men, but he was draw 2 cards and it got me. I also Jitte up a Grunt, then he power totally DESTROIED me with EE on 2. Ouch, if that Cutpurse didn't hit me, then it would had been so different. Game 3- Almost a repeat of game 1. I just jumped and swarmed him with multiple dog/cat and grunts. I just cast grunts so he can't play much spell (food for grunt). He EE'ed for 1 which killed 2 of my guys, but a Meddling Mage showed up and the Grunt just bashed in. (3-1) One more to top 8! Round 5 Luis Scott Vargas Game 1- FOBERT was signed as my name. Game 2- Figure out what was going on... not hard. (3-2) Round 6- Pyromasta (what was it again?) /w Grim Long. It turns out both of us have the 1st and 2nd highest TB for 9 points. And with the 2 10 pointers are playing it out for the 7th spot for T8. There is a good chance that we are playing for the 8th Spot Game 1- He mulled to 6. I FoW'ed Ancestral Recall ^^" And procede to beat him down with guys. Yeah, I Dazed him 2x. Daze was very sick here. Game 2- He didn't board in Massacre, and I ended up named it with Meddling Mage. During his turn 2 or 3 it seemed like he was trying to go off casting a lot of stuffs, but he ended up trying to resolve a Bargain. I asked him how much mana he had floating (cause I counted 0), he said 0... so I .... Dazed it >.> "Daze, the story of my life" I quote him. Yeah... nothing more. I dazed him a total of 3 times I think, maybe 4, but I don't think it was 5. Regardless of the number, Daze really shined at this particular match. Sorries >.< (4-2) Then as Ryan Reynolds (the Judge) came with the pairings for Top 8. Luis told me, "Man, fob, you were 9th, you are like a master at getting 9th." I was bit disappointed, because the 2 10 point guys went to time and should had drawn, but one of them conceded to anothe out of kindness of their heart (later something happened). Regardless of them not drawing, I thought I had a good chance of getting into top 8... so anyways, I was acutally pretty down. "Morgan Vs. Jeff at this table" as Ryan yelled... Luis and Web all of a sudden are bursting into laughter... Okies... Luis got paid, like a lot. Too much, so did Web. Ryan apologized to me saying basically, "sorry, but I had to go along, this is too much payment." It was payment indeed, for them ^^ I am actually not pissed, don't feel like explaining :-p just know me more xD Top 8 Morgan /w Ritual Gifts (card for card as Web/Luis's deck) Game 1- I mull'ed to 5. He resolved a Necro. GG fob. Game 2- He Merchant Scrolled for an Ancestral Recall but was afriad of casting it because of FoW. He held it for like 3 turns. My hand was pretty weak, 3x land, 2x kataki, FoW, and Echoing Truth. So I did had the FoW. He Massacred, fire/ice, and etc. But I was still able to bring him down to a low life. He then thought very hard on casting the Ancestral Recall and ultimatelly did it. So I quickly let it resolve... My hand was Daze, FoW, Orim's Chant, and Echoing Truth at that time. He was kind of suprised that I didn't have FoW (I did all along, it just depends what stage of the game he cast it ^^) He then tried to go off, I thought, well, he he have EtW, I can truth it with FoW up. Then it went to a point where he have 1 card in hand and he was trying to Chain of Vapor his stuffs. IT ISN'T ETW, IT IS TENDRIL!, he is trying to KILL MER!. So I cast Chant and that was that. Game 3- His hand was busted. He was able to FoW my FoW (on his Ancestral Recall!) and then DT for EtW, played Moxen + Black Lotus for DI (9 copies) of EtW. OMFG. So I brainstormed, didn't find Echoing Truth... packed it in, took a loss that I haven't been taking with this deck :-p The card after the 3rd brainstormed card was Echoing Truth. So after I done the forbidden peek, I ripped (tear) that Echoing Truh. 18 Goblins ran me over that game. I played card for card as the deck I top 2'ed last time. I love U/W Fish. There were certainly a lot U/W Fish and Fish variants running around. Many were in contention for top 8. Only 2 Fish made it, both are U/W ^_^ I think my deck is quite optimal for a meta like this. But I hate fuc*ers who plays FTK, kthx. Just GOT to say this: Luis and Web were both against the wall in their semi finals match. It was so amazing they both pulled it off. Esp Luis, super luck sack, but that is good for me too^^ As usual, thanks to Jeff (Lotushead) for the wonderful pictures. ^_^ I got interviewed! lol I was pretty down at the time of interview though just lost the quarters to DI goblin tokens. Freaken EtW! Okay, study break over... 2 midterms on Wednesday, student life is... interesting ^^ Props: 1. Eudo. Nuff said 2. Jeff's Pictures and interviewing me. Great honor. 3. The Japanese Meddling Mage and Umezawa's Jitte that I lend to Web's trade binders. 4. Me ^_^ for Top 8 with "4-0-2" 5. The rise of population of Fish. Fish mirrors are interesting, and tough Slops: 1. Luis for saying "You should just Mull to 5 to speed it up" jokingly. No explanation needed ^^ 2. Luis for telling me I didn't make top 8. 3. Luis for having an insanely LOOSE sidedraft deck, not to mention double quene'ing. Who the fu*k would double quene these kind of events? 4. Empty the Warrens is just beyond ghey 5. Whoever is responsible for towing Albert's car, sorry man. 6. 6 round instead of 5. Why did 2 extra had to show up? (but it turned out perfect) 7. Someone putting FTK in their SB. (Though technically can start it with "Luis for..." but Web was a part of this shehenigans) 8. Last one, Old Man of the Sea for not showing up riding other dorks :-p

I actually dug up the courage to go ask Web for a 20 second interview on YouTube since he never gives reports (apparently his brain is only good for pwning, not posting tourney reports), but alas I only had 8 seconds left on my camera. Actually, I only got the courage to ask him for YouTube interview after I found out about the 8 second time limit, maybe he would have gone for it. He didn't. All he had to say was "Uh...Broken, Duress, Rit Rit Rit, Broken Broken Broken, Pwn". That could be done in under 8 seconds. Good times! Lists up soon, hopefully... EDIT: Lists are up in original thread. Enjoy.

I had no Gifts Ungivens in my list, although it seems that perhaps that is an incorrect choice. I was playing a pretty standard Grimlong list. And it may have been only 3 Dazes, Fob, but they targetted Ancestral (I forced a Daze, frown!), Brainstorm (countered), and Bargain (also countered). Really, really, ugly.
I'm thinking I'll play something really different and strange next time.

Thank you to Lotushead for posting these results again. I always look forward to reading the match descriptions and looking at the entertaining pics. Luis/Ochoa have what appear to be very versatile combo lists... gifts with the ability to necro or bargain seems very powerful. I also noticed their extreme hatred towards fish in their sideboards for this month. Poor Jeff Huang Although he did top 8 yet again. It's good to see fish do well on the opposite coast. Also thanks again for posting a report Jeff... I don't blame you for posting it here. The thread where you usually post it is not in great shape at the moment :p Maybe one day I'll be able to make a Eudominia tourney, they seem like a blast. - Dave Feinstein

Well, Web posted his list elseshere in this thread. Maybe someone can spot the missing card. Austin's list wasn't exciting. Team Vacaville Uses Regrowth AND Reclaim in our lists, His had 1 Isochron Scepter maindeck (just in case). Austin got deckchecked and got a gameloss for misregistering his deck, so that's where the list probably went: to deckcheck hell. (He took out 2nd Echoing Truth main and replaced it with a Textless Psionic Blast. D'ho! Cost him a game in Top 8 vs 11/11 trample indestructible guy. (First Echoing Truth got pitched to Force of Will, 2nd got put into Jr's deck. D'ho again! From Feinstein: Thank you to Lotushead for posting these results again. I always look forward to reading the match descriptions and looking at the entertaining pics. Thanks! I actually posted about 80% of the pics I took this time! Usually only 30% are post worhy.

I also noticed their extreme hatred towards fish in their sideboards for this month. Poor Jeff Huang The sideboard was a bit heavy towards the fish matchup. The last point of discussion was the fire/ice. I wasn't sure if a rebuild would have been better since the sideboard wasn't as prepared for the workshop matchup as it had been in the previous tournaments. Despite what other people may like, I dislike siding in blasts in the UW fish matchup because all of their men are non-blue except for meddling mage; the only spells that they hit are stifle, fow, and echoing truth. Flametongue kills everything that they have and is basically a massacre that attacks for four since I figure that massacre should never be more than a 2-for-1 against a competant player unless it's a calculated decision to go for the kill when their opponent is at six life.

The first thing Luis and Web showed me after the Emerald Tourney was shiny FTK I think the best FTK story is during the top 4 Web vs. Eric where Web casted FTK on a Phyrexian Negator ^_^ But the FTK were a great meta call as a lot of Fishes were lurking around. They beat Grunts, which is what those two dynamic duos were looking for. Thanks for your comments Dave ^_^ Yeah... Pretty sure all of us knows what is going on at the u/w fish thread :-p. My original intentions were to post the report there and pose some questions for people to discuss. But it failed twice ~~~>.<~~~ And with the recent posts on this thread, it feels like we are discussing about fish and getting more information out of it than the u/w fish thread ^^ Oh, the most pimpest card in my deck is probably Web's MINE Japanese Meddling Mages :-p They made me more profits than Webster xD. Who needs pimped out cards Just play with the same picture! And perhaps I am just a cheap fob deep inside... and outside ^^"
