Even if you don't see Academy, you have a decent chance of drawing another land which you can just play post-Jar.

Smennen, you're proving our point. We don't want to see land on the draw seven. And I have to agree with Phil and say that I've had way too many draw 7s fizzle because lack of bombs.

I haven't.   Grim Long is stacked with bombs.  On the other hand, I have lost games, specifically in major tournaments, for not making precisely this play.   Waiting for Academy is the correct play.  The advantage of thinning one card is inconsequential compared to the  much greater chance you'll need Academy for multiple blue or could use the additional mana in general.   If you end up not needing more than one blue, you shouldn't have a hard time finding that blue.  But if you can't win without multiple blue, the Academy may be needed.   You may even need to tutor for it.   On the other hand, if GWS wants to go into battle with Grim Long and play it the other way, the advantage goes to me, I suppose.

I hope I've been able to demonstrate with the use of statistics that waiting for Academy is certainly not always the correct play, as the odds of drawing multiple blue spells (even including a 10 card hand, your odds aren't changing much at all)+academy+those blue spells being the best avenue of play is at times lower than the chance of not drawing enough bombs (might need more through countermagic).  It appears that Stephen values pattern recognition over statistics.  And his patterns he has observed are different than the ones GWS has observed both with ourselves and by watching others.  Your last sentence appears both arrogant and ignorant.

That definitely shows what little class you have at times!  How is that NOT trying to start a flame war?!   You're attacking our team based on our playing of grimlong?!  We COULD go into the battle of you versus Eric Becker, because I believe his record versus you in combo mirrors is almost flawless.

So yes, OUR playing of grimlong will give US the edge.  Because you always need Academy or Will, and your opponent never has force of will.
