I was initially worried when I saw Terra Eternal...but then I remembered thhat Sacred Ground exists.

Am I the only one who thinks this card is just a worse Sacred Ground?

For most Vintage purposes, yes, Sacred Ground is better. But Terra Eternal does allow manlands to be indestructible in combat, while Sacred Ground does not.

The Smokestack factor is not at big an issue to me as the three mana.

Would you really run this in any deck even if it cost just one white mana? I wouldn't...

I wouldn't either...and no one else has maindecked sacred ground in like 5 years.   It is a sideboard issue in which I would still rather have Sacred Ground if I had to play a white answer that kept lands in play.

At 1 white I might would run it in the board as an answer to Stax(with a white stipulation still).  But that would depend on the Chalice density of the meta.

A few years ago, Hale Simon made Top Eight of Vintage Worlds with the help of Sacred Ground.

Sacred Ground costs one less, which is especially important against the sort of decks where you would want this in play. And Sacred Ground returns lands you sacrificed to Smokestack, while Terra Eternal does no protect them.

Quote for relevance.  People forget that this enchantment basically turns off crucible/strip recursion and smokestack.

Any interest in putting together/maintaining a Github Git project that hosts proven decks of all major archetypes and documents their changes over time?

I'm pretty sure that when it comes to sacred ground, this is in the front of everyones mind. The only possible application for terra eternal is probably uw landstill, and even then it seems not so hot, unless you've got a goyf staring you down, in which case I'd probably still rather have a sower. Lets just throw terra eternal on the unplayable list and forget about it.
