I got the idea of this based on a random card generator. I don't have the flavor down, but it seems like an awesome Limited card.

Whenever CARDNAME deals combat damage to a player, put a +1/+1 counter on CARDNAME.

Is 3W that much more than 1WW that I could give it Vigilance? What about a 2/3 for 4W with Vigilance?

I think Vigilance would be perfectly acceptable.

Compare with the 1WW Flying Slith for 1/1.

Vigilance would certainly be more on flavor with the ability, I would however leave him as 1/1 because as a good bloquer, good attacker and shooter, it's a bit too much.
